Will definitely book again

This little slice of heaven is tucked away in the redwoods, walking distance to Moonstone Beach and others. The location is incredible, the interior is thoughtfully done (the host has thought of everything), and the town of Trinidad is a treasure. We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more.

Beautiful place beware of steps!

  • 5 of 5

Great place for solitude! Beautifully landscaped! Beware of stairs! Stairs to upstairs and very narrow and steep. Deep steps to bathroom, living area and kitchen. Steps on patio. Definitely not a place for anyone with bad knees or trouble with steps in general. The futon in the living area is very comfortable! We slept there in place of tacking the stairs to the bedroom and access to the restroom at night! Parking is a ways from the house.

Suggestions: Wagon to pack items from car to house would be awesome! More kindling for starter wood!

Other then this everything was perfect!

We will be back!

Great weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin in the woods, near enough to everything we wanted to do and see in the coastal redwoods. Cabin itself was clean and well-stocked. Everything in the kitchen worked as it should. Hot tub was great. It was a nice touch that the fireplace was all set up and ready to go with kindling and paper in place. DVD selection in the cabin was small, but actually quite nice for end of day viewing. The sound from the highway wasn't noticeable, and you can hear the ocean waves crashing from the patio. My only suggestion would be that it'd be nice to have a small radio to listen to some of the local stations or play music on.

Great cabin - secluded, quaint, and well stocked

  • 5 of 5

Overall, this was a great place to stay. Enjoyed a trip with my sisters and we truly enjoyed the hot tub, cozy house, and all the surrounding areas. The shower was very unique and beautiful but the water pressure was a little weak and the water was warm but not quite hot; however, it was acceptable and definitely only a minor issue. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. It was warm and comfortable. We all slept well and there were plenty of blankets and towels. The owners communicated very well and we never saw them but knew they were available! Excellent property and owners!!!

Won’t do that again! Poor attention from owners.

  • 1 of 5

My girlfriend and I showed up around 5pm, looking forward to the weekend. When we arrived, we realized that the cabin is actually close to the highway. From the back yard, you can hear the traffic going by. As you enter, you travel down a dirt road and go past the owners residence. There is debris and car parts and junk everywhere as you pass. Then you go further down the road to the cabin.

When we got there I recognized the mildew smell mentioned in the other review. It wasn’t overpowering, and I couldn’t smell it after we lit a fire.

The hot tub wasn’t hot so I called the owner. I never saw or spoke to Annie. Tom showed up smelling like a brewery, and said he would crank up the hot tub. We waited a couple of hours but it was never hot enough to sit in the rain in the tub. I call again in the morning and Tom came down again to look at the problem. We had a trip planned to the redwoods and thought it would definitely be hot when we got back. It wasn’t. It was raining by the way, and if there are any smokers out there, you might want to know that there is no covered area outside. Not even a patio umbrella. Well, to sum it up, the hot tub never got hot. There are no instructions to the hot tub; you have to rely on the owner to change the temp for you.

I called the owner and left a message that I was expecting a partial refund, since the hot tub was never used, and I was hoping it to be the highlight of the weekend. I never received a response.

FYI: There are little to no condiments or spices. Not even salt and pepper.

The wood stove was difficult to start, burned through the wood quickly.

The cabin was freezing when we walked in, and it took a few hours to get comfortable.

I was very disappointed by the lack of attention paid to us by the owners. I tolerated the hot tub not working, and didn’t even get a response when I asked for a partial refund.

Won’t do that again!
