There you can enjoy lunch, snacks and drinks while lying in the provided, chaise lounge beach chairs. Or just enjoy the fabulous snorkeling, white sand beach, and calm waves. And you can enjoy watching the whales in season, or the large sea turtles coming ashore to bask in the same sun you are enjoying.

A short walk in another direction from your doorstep, brings you to the world class resort hotel with its shops and restaurants. We have open spacious living areas, gourmet kitchens with designer cabinets, granite countertops throughout, stainless steel appliances. On the lanai there is a built-in, top of the line outdoor double wide gas grill, hood with fan and light and bar sink. You will walk in the door and say WOW, with a smile on your face, knowing the next several days will be spent there.

3RD QUESTION. Why should we stay in this particular unit in Building H at the Palm Villas vs. other Palm Villa units? What is unique about it?

FIRST- It is larger than both the 3BR/2BA Queen & 2BR/2BA Princess in our complex with a large loft. If you are looking for a little more space for that extra person, this is the one. Each bedroom has its own bath.

SECOND- As the owner, I am biased, but we specifically chose this location because we believe the H building location is the BEST in the complex. Here is why. It is in the very rear of the complex, away from any possible pool noise, and nestled against the Golf course. And since it is at the very end of the driveway, it gets no road noise. It is secluded, very safe and very quiet.

THIRD- After it was finished, we went way beyond the ordinary to have this place professionally decorated and custom painted with the highest quality furniture, furnishings and art from Tommy Bahamas and others so that you will feel pampered and know that you are not in “just a rental”. You will experience the difference from the moment you walk through the door to when you slip in the amazingly comfortable beds at night. You see, this is where we vacation, and that is how we want to feel when we are in Hawaii.

FOURTH- This is an upstairs unit that faces the historic preservation area, the royal fish ponds and the ocean. Therefore at night, the cool breeze comes through screen door and windows and you can hear the soft crash of the waves on the beach.

You can eat dinner outside at night on the lanai and face amazing sunsets or watch seasonal fireworks from both resort hotels over the ocean. Or just sit in the comfortable chairs on the lanai with your morning coffee or evening glass of wine looking over the incredible view. It is Hawaii … and you are on vacation. It does not get any better than this.

Pefect condo

We had the perfect vacation on the Big Island staying at this condo. The location was ideal-- very nice, short walk along the beach path even loaded down with 2 small kids and gear. The condo was even better than the description provided. It was equipped with everything one could possibly use/need and all of it was in great condition. While a little tight for 2 families with a total of 3 babies/toddlers, it would be perfect for a single family with kids. We had a fabulous stay here and cannot wait to return!

Third time at Palm Villas H Units!

Palm Villas H units bring us back to Kona year after year. I research a lot. I'm picky, very picky, and Palm Villas is perfect for our family - whether it is a trip with my three teens, or just myself and two friends.

Breaking it down...

Why Mauna Lani properties?

Simple, the Mauna Lani Beach Club access to the private beach with covered cabanas, crystal clear water, an amazing on-site restaurant, stand-up paddle board and canoe rentals and an uncrowded sandy beach where you can take a 7am dip with no one around but a honu and some fish, or watch an evening sunset while floating on your back in warm ocean waters in a cove out of the wind.

Why Palm Villas condos versus Golf Villas or any of the other complexes at the Mauna Lani property?

- Palm is across the street from the spa.

- Palm has 8 buildings to share the pool. Golf Villas has more and pool is more crowded.

- Palm pool has never had more than 3 other people in it at any time we've gone. It is bath water warm with stairs in for little kids, 3' depth and 4' depth. Perfect options for all.

- Palm his closest to the path to the private Mauna Lani Beach Club and is a 15 minute walk through the lava and koi ponds on a paved walkway.

- Palm is closest to the Mauna Lani shopping complex (grocery store, Tommy Bahama Grill, ...) and you can easily walk the two blocks home after a successful happy hour or for a morning coffee.

- And a big reason we chose Palm for both visits was our unit's owner, the Ellinsons, who were great to work with and who's units (H23, H3, H4) are all amazingly clean, well stocked, and leave you needing for nothing.

Pool: It is the perfect size, always empty, clean and has a very hot, hot tub and waterfall with a bench behind it to sit.

Small Gym: Next to the pool. Vacation so we never went in but we saw other 20-somethings giving it a try. We just watched them go in from the hot tub - ha!

Location - Location - Location: We love it up north. We drive south to Alii and Kona for the farmers markets and cooked almost every meal in the well stocked units. The outdoor BBQs are clean and perfect with an overhead fan keeping you cool as you sip drinks and watch the sunset's glow.

H23 v H4: Both units are great. One is just larger than the other but highly recommend either. Highly recommend this VRBO rental! Aloha!

Everything Anticipated in Super Comfotable Unit

This two plus bedroom, two bathroom unit has everything you could want or need. The suite is very clean, and has all the extras like spices, oil, beach toys and equipment, laundry etc. I literally can’t think of one thing that was missing that would have been helpful to have. The communication was excellent, the directions easy to follow and the development also has many amenities like a great pool and hot tub. We didn’t golf or use the fitness center but I’m sure these are great too. The location of this particular unit is also superb as within the block it is quiet facing towards the petroglyphs park but also so easy to walk over to the pool. We walked everywhere. Each night we walked up to get groceries for supper. The food land in the shops has everything you need. We originally thought we would need to drive further afield to get groceries but the food land had everything including or even especially high quality organic items. Mauna Lani is the perfect full facility resort without being over-the-top. It seems a little more refined than some of the other resorts.There were loads of young families as well as retired folks out and about so there was no one obvious demographic. Walking to the beach, restaurants or hiking trails and parks was all easy. For a vigorous 12km+ loop walk to Waikoloa Queens Market place via the Kings Trail and return via the Shoreline/Fisherman’s Trail (but wear supportive shoes). All in all a perfect holiday rental. Charming apt with lovely walk to beach club, tennis courts and short drive to Hapuna beach.

We really enjoyed our stay at Palm Villas. The accommodation was lovely. The loft area is a nice addition to give kids their own space. We spent most days at Hapuna or Mauna Kea beaches, the drive is just 5-10 minutes. Evenings we spent snorkeling at the beach club, taking just a 15 walk through the natural preserve close by or we'd taking a swim in the pool at the apartment .

Nice stay

Good value. I really appreciated the beach equipment and it was in good shape. Great master bed - better than mine at home. And the Par 3 course At the resort was a nice bonus for my family of teens.

Ideal Location/Luxury Resort

This was our 3rd stay at the Mauna Lani Palm Villas and is definitely our preferred location on Big Island. The place is very high end and property is beautifully maintained. The beach club was a little overcrowded this time (first trip in March) but still very nice. Enjoyed our daily walks through the nature preserve/lava field. The condo is quiet and very nicely decorated with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Our family of 5 would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.
