This rustic log structure was built by the Wasatch Mountain Club in 1929 as a base for overnight stays and adventures in the mountains. The Wasatch Mountain Lodge has beds to accommodate up to 20 people. Beds have mattress covers, but no bedding is provided. Guests must bring their own pillows, bedding, or sleeping bags. The main floor of the Lodge, which features a large stone fireplace, can accommodate parties of up to 100 people and is ideal for large gatherings, parties, receptions, family reunions, and winter ski trips. Folding banquet tables and folding chairs for approximately 85 people are provided free of charge. An outdoor patio with tables, benches, and a barbecue area is available for summer use.
SUMMER: An unpaved road connects the Lodge with the Brighton Ski Resort parking lot.
WINTER: There is no motorized winter access to the Lodge. All guests must carry their belongings and food to the Lodge from the Brighton Ski Resort parking lot or transport it using sleds that the Lodge provides. The distance is about 100 yards.
The Lodge combines the best of a truly rustic experience with modern features thrown in. The building is heated by a combination of hot-water heating, a forced air furnace in the main room, and a large wood-burning fireplace. (A bundle of firewood is supplied free of charge, with more available for purchase.)
The Lodge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned and operated by the Wasatch Mountain Club Foundation, a nonprofit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization. 100% of the rental fees you pay go for preservation and maintenance of this historic building.

About Robert Myers
I am a lifetime member of the Wasatch Mountain Club (WMC) and participated in the formation of the WMC Foundation. Since 2010, this charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization has owned and operated the Wasatch Mountain Lodge.
Why Robert Myers chose Brighton
If you are looking for a rustic stay in one of the very few original log structures built in the Brighton area, you have found it. The lodge was built in 1929, and its historic feel has been preserved. A few modern updates have been added over time, such as flushing toilets, hot showers, potable mountain water, a modern kitchen, and both hot water and forced-air heating systems.
What makes this Lodge unique
The Lodge is located right in the Brighton skiing terrain, a short 300 feet out of the Brighton parking lot, so you can ski in and out during the winter months. In the summer you will find abundant wildlife, since the Lodge is located above the base facilities in the trees. At the back of the Lodge you can enjoy dining in nature on a large patio and barbecue area with picnic tables. The Lodge is a short distance from the hiking trailheads, with easy access to cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and mountain biking.

Great stay once again at the Wasatch Mountain Club Lodge
We love this place. Great atmosphere for our outing. Super clean and ready to roll when we arrived. Ski in/Ski out. Plenty of firewood to keep us toasty warm. We absolutely love staying at this place for our bi-annual training. Todd made sure to keep us stocked with what we need and the event went off without a hitch. Thanks WMC!!!!
Great week at WMC lodge
Our group of 13 adults had a great week skiing at WMC lodge. Participants were used to bunk-style lodging and we organized meal teams for cooking and cleaning up. The 100 yd walk uphill at elevation was more taxing for those arriving from sea level, but we were rewarded with ski-in/out lodging. This lodging isn't for everyone and I like that. There are quirky things associated with an historic lodge and one needs to accept limitations and work-arounds. The location is great and good for group interactions and dynamics.
Beautiful rustic old timey lodge in great condition.
We had an amazing time! The ownership staff was great to work with and really helped accommodate our needs. We are chave mind back next year! Thanks Wasatch Mountain Lodge!
Daughter's Rustic wedding.
Wasatch Mountian Lodge was perfect for my daughter's rustic wedding. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were great. We decarated it with many Christmas lights inside and it looked awesome! We made birch poles to run down the isle outside to the wedding arch for the ceremony with patio lights. The fire place was awesome to have going during the reception. Upstairs where you slept was great! We had a shuttle service to take the guests up to the Lodge from the Brighton parking lot. We had our own Caterer and the kitchen was perfect. When we first booked the lodge for the wedding we had it for one night and not being able to check in till 1:00 and the ceremony was at 5:00 we decided to rent it for two nights so we had plenty of time to decorate the day before the wedding and we really enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace that night before the wedding. All in all it was perfect even to have a family party. We would highly recommend!
Perfect rustic wedding getaway!
This historic lodge surrounded by forest and majestic views was the most dreamy setting for our wedding. There are 3 choices for ceremony spots - in the trees, on the patio, or in the main room of the lodge. All are gorgeous. Our ceremony was on the patio surrounded by trees with the sound of water rushing through the creek behind. Dinner and entertainment were inside. So many perfect photo opportunities in the trees! Also, the wedding party slept at the lodge the night before and the night of. It was such a special escape from day-to-day life. The lodge had everything we needed and the weekend was even more magical than I imagined.
I've reserved this cabin two years in a row. Both times have been great. This year, the $500 refundable damage deposit was delayed from a glitch in the system, but upon contacting the owner, he responded quickly and has adjusted the refund.
