(Note: We now live in this home and rent it only during summer months--June through September 3.). Great home on one of the largest golf course lots in Shipyard. Beautiful heated pool and spa! 4 bedrooms, 3 full and 2 half baths, approx. 3500 sq. ft. This home has high ceilings, an open floor plan, lots of light, and a totally renovated high-end kitchen and hardwood floors. It also offers a great media room with a big-screen TV and a foosball table. It is an easy bike ride to the beach.

For sleeping accommodations, this home has 1 king bed, 3 queen beds and a futon that sleeps 2. The master has a large bath with double vanities, whirlpool tub, a separate shower and huge walk-in closet.

Exercise on the extensive shaded bike/walking paths. Of course, the beach is only a bike ride or short car ride away where you can enjoy all your favorite beach activities. Then return home to enjoy peace and quiet in the private pool or on the hammock on the shaded back deck overlooking the pool and golf course.

A beach locker is available for storage of beach items and a beach parking pass is also available.

No pets and no smoking. Please also note the maximum number of people allowed is 10.

Cancellation policy: 8 weeks before reservation, 75% returned. 4 weeks before, 50% returned. After that, nothing is returned unless we are able to replace the rental. Regardless of when a cancellation is made, if a new rental is obtained at the same rate, 100% is refunded. If the new rental is for less than the original rental, the amount of the replacement rental is returned.

About Sherry Myers

We moved to the island from Gainesville, Georgia, where Tommy worked in the poultry industry and Sherry was a realtor. We love going to the beach and when we found Hilton Head Island, we knew we'd found a jewel! It has a bit of a tropical feel with lush plants and flowers. It was also the first vacation place we'd found where we could truly get away from our hectic schedules and relax. It is a place where we can do nothing or we can choose from any number of activities to do and places to eat. Over the years, we have made many wonderful memories there with family and friends. We're extremely thankful that God has blessed us with this home and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do. It's not just rental property for us; it is our home. We spend the summers in Calgary, Alberta, with our son and his wife and children. He is a pastor there and they have mission teams who go up in the summer and do sports and VBS camps for children. We usually return around Labor Day, so it is only available in the summers.

Why Sherry Myers chose Hilton Head Island

In 2001, we began our search for a vacation property where our family could enjoy spending time together and making memories. We settled on Hilton Head Island because it is not just a beach community. It is a community with a beach but with also an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, a perfect place for a family. Along with having approximately 27 golf courses on the island and many others just off island, it also offers activities such as swimming, tennis, miniature golf, movie theatres, lots of shopping, kayaking, boating, fishing, and many others.

We purchased our home in Shipyard Plantation because it is less crowded than the other plantations that also offer beach access. Also, our home is on a dead-end street that makes it even quieter. We enjoy the tree-covered paths for bike riding or walking year-round. When we drive into the plantation, the speed limit drops to 25 mph and immediately we take a big sigh and catch our breath, realizing we have arrived at a form of paradise.

We purchased this particular property because of its location and the layout of the home. It's on a large lot with a great view of the golf course and the layout of the interior is great. The addition of the pool has made this property perfect for us and our friends.

What makes this house unique

The most unique feature of our home is the media room. It has a big screen high-definition TV, a foosball table, a comfortable leather reclining sofa and a separate recliner. It also has an island with a granite countertop and bar stools, as well as a microwave and dishwasher. This room is the favorite spot of everyone, but especially the kids.

Another unique benefit is the hammock on the back deck. We've spent many hours reading a book there.

We're presently adding what will be our favorite unique benefit, and that is the pool and hot tub. We've been told many times that if our house had a pool, it would be a home run. Well, we're finally doing it and are so excited! We know you will love it, too.

Wonderful Experience!

We stayed early June 2016 and had a wonderful experience! It was so much fun that we booked for June 2017. The owners are very attentive to your every need. The setting is wonderful and everyone really enjoyed the pool. Plenty of room to stretch our legs and watch the Cleveland Cavaliers win. The listing description is spot on. The manager of the cleaning company was not happy with something and actually had the cleaning folks come back - we could not find anything wrong, but he could. That is how much attention to detail they pay. I would recommend this property to a family looking for a fun, safe, spacious place to stay.

Don't hesitate... book this home!

First and foremost, I want to thank the owner, Sherry, for her attentiveness. She is obviously as detailed oriented as I am, and didn't miss a thing in the helpful "booklet of tips" she sends you before your vacation week. We have been coming to HHI for over ten years and always rent something through VRBO. This home was perfect for my husband and I, and our young-adult children. The common areas are plentiful, yet everyone can retreat to their own space. The house is nicer than the photos show here. Beautiful new back deck, full-grown landscaping, and the new TV in the living room above the fireplace was perfect for watching the summer Olympic games together as we cooked in the fully stocked kitchen. There are also two patio sets with umbrellas, and they have a beach locker with chairs that Sherry graciously let us renters make use of. We were able to keep our rental bicycles and car in the garage, use the washer and dryer for our pool towels, and grill on the BBQ (although, I could not find BBQ utensils). Seriously, there is nothing you will feel you have a shortage of in this beautiful home (except maybe BBQ utensils, haha!). The only small "issue" we had was that the bed in the master bedroom is freakishly high. However, Sherry does give you fair warning of this anomaly in her booklet. The mattress came as high as my rib cage, and even at a fit 6' tall, my husband needed a step-stool. The sheets and mattress pad didn't fit and would slip off the corner. The media room is a cool addition to have for a rainy day (I would imagine younger children having a wonderful time in their own space), but we were lucky with the weather, and spent most all of our time outdoors. Having the pool off the beautiful deck is the best feature! The rental cost on this home is fair, as you are getting a lot. We want to thank Sherry for her graciousness. Don't hesitate... book this home!

Great place to relax!

Our 3 family group had such a wonderful time in this beautiful house! It was never a problem with all the rooms & bathrooms. The pool was perfect. The girls took over the media room and they had a blast up there. It was such a relaxing week. We would recommend this home to anyone. The list Sherry sends prior to your arrival about places to go to etc..was such a great help, we tried Kenny B's and it was the best and at an affordable price. We also went to Harris Teeter and got so many great bargains just like she said. We will definitely stay at this house again. Thank you Sherry!!!!!!

Home away from home

My family & I have been to HHI many times & enjoy it. This was the first time we stayed in a house thru VRBO. This house was beautiful, very roomy & just a wonderful place to relax for a week. We never felt like we were on top of each other. It was very easy driving to the beach & is a nice bike ride away. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home.

We were so thrilled to find this house in shipyard. It was so convenient to the beach and wonderful for bike riding..... A nice place to rejuvenate after the Christmas rush. We felt the owners were very helpful and we felt free to call them any time we had a question . They seemed eager to help us enjoy their home. We have gone to the Island many times but this time we felt we had friends from the island.

Our favorite sports activities are golf, tennis, bike riding, and kayaking. There are 3 9-hole courses in Shipyard, there is also a tennis center in Shipyard where you can reserve courts, there are plenty of places to rent bikes, and we can give you information on kayaking tours. Of course, there are many fabulous restaurants on the island. We email a booklet of area information to our renters. This has proven to be invaluable to them.
