Located only 3/4 mile from the 40 Mile Point Light House. Good fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, cross country skiing, are just outside your door. The private wooded setting is entered through a 300' paved driveway.
The spectacular views of Lake Huron are breath taking. Relax on the multi-tiered deck overlooking the lake and watch the Great Lake freighters or explore the beautiful beach front and search for that Lake Huron stone that may entice your love of nature. Ride or walk the 10 mile paved bike path along the water front to Calsite - the world's largest limestone mine. Explore the Rogers City marina or golf the Country Club.

Chris Kurowski purchased this cottage in 1998
I purchase this cottage in 1998 for my family to enjoy and get away from our busy schedule. In 2006 my wife passed away and my kids moved to a new life thereafter on the west coast. The cottage rather than be an vacant nice place is now a year round home to anyone interested in wanting to enjoy the outdoors or just relax to their own schedule. Most guests return the following year for they have confirmed Relaxation on Lake Huron is just what says it is.
The great view of the water is unbeatable. Just terrific. You will be awed. If you like walks down the beach you will always remember this one. The 40 Mile Point light house is just 3/4 of a mile north and it will entertain your interest. Bicycling, walking, running, or just loafing will be energized with the possibilities presented. A 10 mile paved path that boarders the water and winds through some of the forests will open your mind to the beauty of Michigan.
I received this review from a long time customer who does NOT book through VRBO but books directly with myself. I thought I would share this for everyone to see.
Thank you again for the use of your cottage. We received the returned deposit before we even returned home. We had a great time and the weather was perfect. It isn’t often you can get into Lake Huron and stay in it as long as you like.
The bed was nice. Anna slept on it and Sarah on the futon. It was so warm/humid a few nights that we kept them apart. It worked out just fine.
We were thinking this was the eighth time we have stayed at the cottage in August. Sarah, now 7, was only a little over five months old when we first stayed. Anna is 11 years old now. Our family loves R.C. and your cottage is definitely a part of some of our best family memories.
Thank you again!
The cottage was lovely, actually better than most up-north cottages by having a little more updated feel. It was clean and tidy, uncluttered and inviting. The spacious lot had serene woods plus of course a great stairway to the private beach on beautiful Lake Huron. One of my dogs wouldn't let the cold October water keep him out. We had a great, relaxing time enjoying Michigan Autumn. We didn't see the bald eagles, but my brave dog did get acquainted with a porcupine! It could've been a lot worse, but he survived with just a few quills as souvenirs. I guess the stay wasn't all completely relaxing ;) It was an interesting experience!
We stayed for 3 nights. Had a wonderful time. The house was clean and spacious. The online pictures of the property didn't do it justice. It is actually larger and more beautiful than the pictures show. There are neighbors on each side of the property but there are enough trees in between the properties to make you feel completely secluded. Other than the birds, squirrels and chipmunks, the only visitor we had was the neighbors little dog.
Our only complaint would be that the washer wasn't working properly. The cold water was draining out of it as quickly as it was going in. If you'd like to use the washer while you're there, you might want to ask the owner if he'd have it serviced.
We would definitely stay here again.

The home was spacious and quiet, on a lovely wooded lot complete with fire pit, porch swing, and lake access. We enjoyed walking along the lakeshore, bikeriding along the paths and to the lighthouse, floating on the tubes, and making nightly campfires. We brought our own canoe for sunrises paddles and had the added bonus of seeing a shipwreck off the shore from the lighthouse. Overall, it was a wonderful setting for a family vacation with lots of time to enjoy each other's company in a very relaxed, natural setting.
This was our second stay at Relaxation on Lake Huron. It was just as wonderful as the first time. The cabin is cozy, clean, and has a gorgeous view of the lake. It is set back in the woods overlooking the lake, so even though you know there are neighbors on each side, you can't see them. Even when you are down on the beach, it is like your own private excursion. We had a peaceful, quiet and relaxing time. Owner has six bikes in garage for guests to use. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to have some quiet time and reconnect with family and nature. There are some great trails that run along side of the shore of Lake Huron right into Rogers City. It was an extra bonus that we could bring our pet and that it was okay with the property owner. I'm not sure who loved it more, us or the dog :) Great bakery nearby and coffee from the Painted Lady are welcome bonuses.
We had such an amazing stay. The home was cozy and very clean, the view was extraordinary. I would recommend this home to everyone.
We had an amazing time and the whole family loved it as well as our dogs! We had fires every night and the kids made smores, we cooked out, hung out at the waters edge hunting rocks playing in the water! I personally enjoyed the stairs down to lake Huron (the workout was amazing!) We never turned the TV on our entire stay! Thank you so much for sharing your home for others to enjoy and we will cherish this vacation memory always! God bless, The Sinklers
