The home was fully renovated in the last 8 years. All fixtures, appliances, furnishings and accessories are new. Living room and deck furniture (from Crate & Barrel), was replaced the summer before last. Central a/c was installed June 2016..The large granite & SS kitchen, has lots of windows for cross ventilation and every utensil, pot, or pan needed, including a shucking knife, for oyster enthusiasts. It's all easy, one level living. A wall mounted HD flat screen TV with cable and DVD in the living room, is a great addition for rainy days and evenings. The downstairs bonus room has been supplied with toys, puzzles and stuffed animals for little ones.
Beach chairs, umbrellas and beach towels have been left for your convenience. There's wireless Internet & a stereo system, for CD's and cassette tapes. Remember those ? Dine al fresco on the adjoining deck to the dining area, then walk 1/10th of a mile to the bay beach, also part of the shelling beach, where you can dig for clams and gather oysters to bring back to grill. Bring a chair & glass of wine, to return for the stunning sunsets.
Several magnificent ocean beaches are just a few miles drive and the quaint village even less. Bike to fabulous PB Boulangerie for fresh baked croissants and breads or take in a play at the WHAT Theater at the end of the road Wellfleet has a drive-in theater, that changes to a flea market during the day, once or twice weekly. There's also a separate movie theater on the premises.. Audubon wildlife Center is close by, which offers education, birding and walking trails. For more excitement, drive 18 minutes to P-Town for great shopping, dining, whale watching tours and nightlife. This is a great family, girl's away vacation or couples getaway, nestled in a quiet setting & prime location.

I am a writer, sculptor, business owner and help rescue stranded marine life in Wellfleet, mostly dolphins in the cold winter. Wellfleet is a special area andI I have been coming here since I was a teenager.
Sandie purchased this House in 2007
Why Sandie chose Indian Neck Heights
I love the location and proximity to the beach. It is also a dead end street and not a cut through, so people coming down the road, either live here, are visiting someone, or coming to collect oysters and dig for clams. This is a close neighborhood, where people know each other. They often stop and talk and families have been coming here for years.I love the one level living with add on potential on the first floor. It's also a year round home.
What makes this House unique
Close to the beach and village. One level living. Total renovation. A few minute walk to the bay beach for sunning, shelling and great sunsets. The house is set back from the road, with 2 beautiful trees in front. Downstairs is a walk out, with an additional bonus room and bathroom. The land is large enough to enjoy, but small enough to maintain and have a flower garden I can manage.

Afforded us the opportunity to vacation with our grandkids which was super. Proximity to the bay was great! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt right at home.
Thank you Andrea. You were terrific guests and left the house in great shape. I hope you come back
Clean, comfortable and convenient
Our family of five just returned from a delightful vacation here, our third year in a row to this house. We love the easy layout with most of the living space on one floor. We always appreciate how neat and efficient the space is. The large deck right off the kitchen with umbrella table and gas grill is where we enjoyed all of our meals. It's a short walk to public beach that is never crowded. We also enjoy the walking/jogging available; in one direction to Indian Neck Beach the other to DD's for an iced coffee!
Thank you Ann. You and your family have been wonderful renters and it is a delight to have you. The cleaners tell me the house is always left in good condition, after you leave and I know if there are any issues, you will contact me immediately. I love families that return year after year. They are familiar with the home and area and have an authentic appreciation of both.
I am so glad Ann and family had a great vacation and the weather cooperated. By the way, the beach that is so close to the house is private, as most are in Wellfleet. I find that to be one of the true gems of the area, because they are rarely crowded. The beach down the road, is especially beautiful at sunset, which are almost always stunning.
Lovely Cape Cod Retreat.
My parents and family have stayed in Sandy's lovely Wellfleet house for 2 years in row now and have been quite pleased with out visits both times. We had 5 people total (4 adults, 1 child) very comfortably and the place could have fit more people if necessary. Sandy has thought of everything and the house is well provisioned with all the essentials, and even some emergency items in case you forgot to pack (e.g. extra towels, sheets, bug spray, beach chairs, etc...). We are overdue to review the place and my only reservation is that our positive review may make it harder for us to book again!
Our family was quite happy with both of our visits. The place is immaculately clean and in 2016 she added central air so it is quiet (no more window A/Cs) and cool. The kitchen it quite modern and has a lovely private deck for outside eating and cooking. Literature on the local markets, beaches, stores, and restaurants is provided as well.
The walk to the bayside beach is only a few hundred yards and it is only minute to drive across to the kettle ponds or national seashore. There are nice beach and wetland hikes from the property as well. There is a nice years that we did not use often and Sandy has kept it well cleared and treated for ticks and mosquitos. We never had a single tick or mosquito on either trip.
Of course she has cable, a stereo, and high-speed internet so when it rains you have some indoor activities to do as well. There were really only minor inconveniences. On rainy days some ants creep in, but there are natural traps provided and this was not an issue. The place has 2 baths, but the second one is not quite as nice. For us, the 10am check-out time has been a challenge to hit exactly when we were cleaning up to leave. But Sandy is always available by phone and e-mail and if anything breaks or is an issue, she is quick to respond.
This is a wonderful family and I love that they took the time to review my home on Homeaway. In addition, they also wrote a lengthy email about a few minor issues they encountered during their stay, i.e., the ant problem. I am very environmentally conscious, especially due to the environment of the natural Cape.
The family member who wrote this, gave me additional natural tips for getting rid of ants. They only occur in late Spring for about 2 weeks, but sometimes when we have several days of rain, which they did (much needed) they seem to take refuge in the house, so the more things I can do to deter them in a friendly manner, the better.
I do hope the family returns again next year. It makes me feel good when a family feels so comfortable, that they want to return. I greatly appreciate the time and effort it took to write this, so thank you.
Fantastic home near a great beach.
The house is nicely redone with new fixtures and very clean. Was the perfect size for a small family and also very close to the bay beaches. We enjoyed the house, the neighbors, and the rest of the surroundings. There were five of us and there was plenty of room. I have a five year old and sixteen month old, and they enjoyed the house as well, including the children's room, which is complete with children's books you can use and stuffed animals. Cable tv came in very handy at night and on the one rainy day we had. Sandy was polite, helpful, and we are looking forward to renting with her again.
Thank you so much for that wonderful review and I'm delighted you had such a nice stay. You had the best weather, I'll look forward to having you back. Stay cool during this 3rd heat wave. I assume you're getting it also ?
Not a good experience
We stayed in this house and in the end it was not a good experience. The house was clean enough though small and quite hot in August, but plenty of fans. The biggest issue we had was actually trying to get our security deposit back. She was supposed to send it back within 2 weeks, however we accidentally broke a glass ceiling light fixture that we of course we told her right away.
The owner claimed it was a very expensive fixture (when in reality it was a cheap glass cover) and she had to go to some special lighting store to buy a replacement. She then waited over 6 weeks to return the deposit and deducted $187 for the globe cover!!! Even worse, after 4 more weeks of renters were in the house she claimed we owed an additional $35 cleaning fee...outrageous.
The house is not worth the price, and in the end and worthing *nothing* close to the aggravation of dealing with the owner! The cape is full of places to rent- after these issues we will not be coming back to the house (ever).
If you look at my reviews, no one else has complained in 4 years.
From what I have heard, everyone that has stayed here has had a postive experience. I've had renters from Europe and throughout the country. I even had a family staying next door at another rental, who saw my house through current renters and called to book with me the following year.
The person complaining, broke a glass globe light with satin nickel prongs. The nickel doesn't rust in the sea air. Most materials do. She sent me links to sites I never heard of and wanted me to replace a $150.00 light from Wolfer's Lighting, a very high end lighting store in the Boston area, with a $50.00 one. This wasn't plastic, it was glass.
If an item is broken, I feel it should be replaced with something comparable, not 1/3rd the price. I found the least expensive glass globe fixture at the same place for $18.00 more, which is what was charged.I also have to take the time to get it.
My cleaning person sent an invoice at the end of the month, but marks each individual week with the price. I do not charge a cleaning fee, as some owners do. I was charged an additional $35 after they left and only passed on the additional charge.
A security deposit is generally returned within a month of departing and it was close to that. She counted the time from the beginning of her stay, rather than when they left.
I don't want anyone's money. That signals a problem and I prefer not to have any.
I put a lot of money into renovations only 4 years ago. I made an effort to put in the best quality fixtures, materials and furnishings. Not too many rental homes in this price range have granite counters and stainless appliances.
I pay for a gardener, trash pick-up twice weekly and professional cleaning. I take into consideration what it entails to rent a beach house for a week. I try to accomodate renters to make it as easy, enjoyable and less cumbersome as possible. I include beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, some children's toys, books and board games. I am sorry this turned out not to be a good experience for this family.
"My family stayed here over the summer.
We have been vacationing in the outer Cape for years and the house we usually booked was sold. We loved the house and area and how close it was to the beach. It also was convenient to the village, restaurants and shops. There are lots of windows, including a large bay in the living room, which provides a great cross breeze. There are lots of fans in every room. The kitchen is one of the nicest I've been in for a vacation rental, with granite and stainless appliances. The owner left beach chairs and beach towels, which was a big convenience, as we didn't have to bother bringing these extra items from home. I would highly recommend this property."
Wellfleet is on the outer Cape where 70 % or more is devoted to national seashore, keeping it beautiful and still underdeveloped. This has always been a town for artists, families and sophisticated visitors from around the world. There are many wonderful restaurants, magnificent bay and ocean beaches, flea markets, shopping, art galleries and a new actor's theater at the end of the road from the house. A jog or bike ride will also get you to a fabulous French bistro and bakery for freshly baked croissants, breads and pastries. Sit outside at one of the tables with a cappuccino and morning paper. The calories are well worth every one.
For more adventure. take the 15-20 minute drive to P-Town for whale watching, movies, great shopping, restaurants and a variety of shows. On the way, you can stop at the Truro Winery and Atlantic Spice house.
Other Activities: bike riding, hiking, plays, flea markets, shows, piano bars, great restaurants, village shopping and lots of yoga studios and massage therapists
