Relaxing and peaceful
Beautiful location. Home was perfect and comfy. Great place to chill out and get away from it all. Owner was very helpful and responsive. Had everything we needed for the week. Well maintained home. Hot tub was a plus. Lots to do in the area and appreciated the owner sending list of suggestions.
We enjoyed our stay. Great property.
Not at all what we expected.
As to communication with the owner: the owner bombarded me with VERY lengthy emails complete with lots of capital letters! Included in all those emails - 16 in total - was some information we actually needed but it was wayyyyy to difficult to find. The cabin is in a very pretty setting but the driveway is very steep and since we were driving a suburban we could only park one other car within a mile and a half of the house - inconvenient for us. Inside there is a staircase that can not be to code, I used it once and decided it was an accident waiting to happen. That said you can get to the lower level by multiple staircases outside,. not very handy. The hot tub is a two person recliner thing which was very slippery and slimy- it needed to be cleaned. The water was probably fresh but the tub was not; plus we did not like its limited use capability. The house is full of large furniture and knick knacks which makes it feel smaller, also the kitchen table seats 3 comfortably unless you want to pull it out such that you can't get into the refrigerator. I could only recommend this to a couple with no children and only one vehicle. We left a day early - it was not the relaxing getaway I had hoped for.
The majority of our guests are very pleased we send one email with detailed directions, and 4 emails with activities in the area. We also send a pre arrival email, letting them know how the cabin is stocked and what they may wish to bring. The driveway comfortably accommodates two large vehicles. The hot tub is a four seater which is drained, cleaned/disinfected, refilled and treated for each booking. The kitchen table seats 6.
Great getaway in Blue Ridge
Enjoyed the home, had all everything we were looking for. The little touches of supplying wood for the fire and soaps were nice touch. Close to Blue Ridge and all the stores. Easy drive to the rivers and hiking trails.
I would recommend that the towels be clean and placed in the bathrooms, as they were wet and needed to be rewashed before using. There were a few wasps nests that needed to be removed. I would recommend this hope and would stay again in the future.
The property was awesome! Loved all the different levels.
The cabin was amazing. We all had a great time. Even though it rained the first couple days, it was still relaxing. The cabin has a little of everything you would want. Great view, listen and you can hear the stream nearby. Secluded and quiet. My family and friends loved it!
Everything you need to relax
I did a lot of research between rentals to find a place that would give us a beautiful, peaceful getaway and this was perfect!! You do need a little sense of adventure when it comes to the drive up to the cabin but easily navigated by my Mazda 3. No need for 4 wheel drive or a truck but was a little nerve racking for one of our group that doesn't like heights.
Cabin had everything you need and more for a comfortable stay and was minutes away from most of the area highlights. Lots of trails, shopping and great affordable dining just minutes away. Cooked a few meals, used the fire pit almost every night and slept like a log in the downstairs bedroom. Stairs weren't a challenge for us but would reccomend taking bags in/out through the outside entry. So nice to sit on the decks and enjoy the peace and quiet as well as look at the stars. The owner Sandy was very responsive to any questions we had and keeps the cabin well stocked. We can't wait to come back!!!
