About Ghislaine Abadie
My husband is a retired engineer.
Ghislaine Abadie purchased this Condo in 1962
Why Ghislaine Abadie chose Malviès
My husband’s parents, who were from Limoux and worked as building contractors, bought this property in 1962. The property had nothing more than grain fields. They planted vines that their son, when he retired later on, multiplied. During the years, they did several renovations, which we continued: we want to improve the property ever more and we want to keep this ‘Countryside’ (as we call it here) in the family for as long as possible. We appreciate this house very much, because we spend wonderful family holidays here every year. I have to say that when we got married, I literally fell in love with this magnificent place. We have now reformed the rooms and we will be very glad to host our tenant. Doing so, they will enjoy the equipment of this house (or the guest rooms), with all the cosy comfort that people appreciate in our other house in Normandie (Moulin d' Abenon, 5-star rental), yet in a style that is particular for this region.
What makes this Condo unique
View of the Pyrenees and the plain, walks in the surrounding hills. All the comfort of a 3-star rental. Everything for babies. The swimming pool is not heated but it is quickly heated by the sun (usually at 19° from the end of May until the middle of October, but from 24° to 26° in summer). Parking space is available in front of the door.

Around the Farmhouse (here in Razes we call it the countryside), you can go walking and hiking in the hills of Malepere (highest peak is Pic Nord: 412 m) in the middle of the forest or the vineyards; in front of the Pyrenees.
A 10-minute drive away from Limoux (a small city of around 10,000 inhabitants), which has a typical square surrounded by arcades, and close to the church of the 12th century, where the winter carnival takes place. The Machine Museum, Piano Museum, and wine cellars of Sieur d'Arques are worth a visit. You can also visit the typical villages of Razes with the "Circulades".
A 20-minute drive away from:
Carcassonne and the medieval city as well as the bastide of the 17 century.
A 30-minute drive away from:
Lagrasse and the Abbey, Montréal and the collegiate church, as well as Bram and Castelnaudary, where you can rent boats on the Canal du Midi.
A 45-minute drive away from:
The Dinosaur Museum (next to Couiza), with a real excavation site (excavations for children from the age of 6) and the Hat Museum (Espéraza used to be one of the two hat capitals of France).
The magnificent walks and hiking trails in the green Corbières of Limouxin or Razes. The medieval castles in the villages of Arques, Serres, and Bugarach, which was in the news on 21.12.2012 related to the « end of the world ».
An hour drive away from:
Rennes-le-Château, the late 19th-cencury secret of Abbe Saunière, of which a television documentary was made.
Around an hour and 15-minute drive away from:
Ariège, the caves of Niaux and the outdoor Palaeolithic Museum that offers activities for children. A little bit further, there is Mas d'Azil, where the street crosses the cave along the river.
