A Private and Cozy Experience
Hello folks!
Put simply, my wife and I enjoyed our sojourn in this cabin. To add a few more details, our experience was both cozy and private. While it’s not buried deep in the woods (there’s a gravel access road and a string of nearby cabins dotted about), the positioning of this property makes for a private stay, which was much appreciated by us honeymooners! The windows were well situated, allowing views and natural light while avoiding that glass-display-case feel.
The open, intimate floor plan, gorgeous ceiling architecture, and the fireplace went a long way to make this place snug.
Being avid cooks, we found the kitchen had enough to get by with, but not by much. The foodstuffs available (EVOO, balsamic, tea, etc.) were good quality;
the cookware and utensils... not so much.
The bathroom had the least going for it, in my opinion. The plastic shower was short and small, and has seen better days, evidenced by rusty screw heads, unfastened plastic trim, and the like.
However, it was well stocked with high-quality soaps.
I hasten to add that we never requested anything we lacked from the owners.
We stayed here for a week, and valuing privacy over perfection, we were content to enjoy what was provided.
Based upon my experience with the owners, I have no doubt they would have helped with alacrity if we had any complaints. They were courteous, respectful, and resolved payment issues tastefully.
Our experience was a positive one.
This property was an excellent home-base for a variety of outdoor activities, and comfortably close to other towns like Grand Marais for outings.
We’re thankful we were able to stay here!
Thank you for staying with us and we appreciate that feedback. To respond to your bathroom comment, my wife and I only recently purchased these lovely cabin and we are aware of the upgrade needed in that cottage. A remodel of the bathroom is on top of the priority list and we will do our best to get that accomplished this winter. One of the challenges with a family owned and operated business like this is getting to everything in a timely fashion. As for the kitchen issue, we are aware of the dated pots and pans and will be replacing those in the beat future as well.
Again we can’t thank you enough for staying with us and the honest feedback. And congratulations on your marriage, we hope to see you again.

Small but cozy
We only stayed two days but enjoyed the central location
Sweet little cottage
It was lovely and quiet and cozy. We loved the wood fireplace and how it was tucked back in the woods giving us added privacy. We would definitely stay here again.
Cozy cabin in the woods
This is our second year staying at this property. This cabin has a large patio to enjoy your morning coffee and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. We will be back next year.
The most lovely stay.
We had an amazing weekend up north! We had a comfortable bed and a well lit (thanks fireplace) to return to after a day of exploring! I would stay again.
