About Francesca and Paolo
Once our family house, this VIlla has been completely renovated and lovely furnished to offer the best quality hospitality to our guests
Francesca and Paolo purchased this Villa in 1950
Why Francesca and Paolo chose Fivizzano
Despite being surrounded by nature, in a small quiet village, it is near to many attractions and things to do for adults and kids: beaches and ski resorts, both at less that 30 kms, Castles and ruins all around, Museums, the famous town of Pontremoli with its 'Staues Stele' Museum, the Nature Parks all around us.
What makes this Villa unique
The house has been our family house for many years, so everything works perfectly ! The neighbours are friendly and the privacy is absolute :-)!

Beautiful villa in the mountains
In addition to the spectacular view of the mountains from the terrace and pool, and spacious, private, elegant accommodations, the real plus to this property is the property manager. She facilitated a great cooking class at the villa, a visit to a hidden away gem of a local winery, and a private tour and dinner at a tenth century castle. This Villa is perfect for a family interested in exploring an undiscovered part of the Apuan Alps, and willing to drive some narrow hairpin mountain roads to get there.
Dear Faye, thank you for your comments, you have been perfect guests and we will welcome you anytime with pleasure!
Magliano is few minutes from the town of Fivizzano: Fivizzano is also known as 'The Florence of Lunigiana' because of historical economic, cultural and political links with Florence. It is situated near Verrucola Castle, within the National Park of Apennines and Apuan Alps.
The Lunigiana region is one of Tuscany's undiscovered regions, with small medieval villages and castles, lots of hiking, and beautiful rural scenery. If you have a passion for Italy, and a desire to explore the lesser beaten tracks, then Lunigiana (loo-nee-jar-nah) in Northern Tuscany will not fail to impress.
The region of Lunigiana offers a truly unspoilt and quiet corner of Tuscany – an ideal place to relax and get away from the more widely travelled and crowded holiday destinations and an escape from the rush of modern life. It is situated in the most northern tip of Tuscany, defined by the Appennine mountain range to the East (often referred to as the 'back bone' of Italy), the world famous Carrara marble Apuane mountains to the South and the Ligurian Riviera to the West. A unique location with a variety of activities readily on hand – whether you wish to visit the coast, bathe in the local natural baths, go skiing, walk in the countryside, or simply wander around the nearby medieval cities and towns.
One of the most famous events in Fivizzano is the annual 'Disfida degli Arceri di terra e di Corte' (Challenge of the Ground Archers and the Court Archers), a historical archery contest which takes place in July in the Piazza Medicea.
The annual 'Tangoworld' festival in September. It is one of the largest representations of Argentinian tango in Italy.
The sandy beaches of Lerici and the Cinque Terre are at hand, perfect for a day trip.
