April Cottage - a cottage that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms
April Cottage Review
We had a great 4 days in April Cottage. The cottage is obviously very old, but very smart, comfortable and well appointed.
The location is probably in the nicest part if the village - right opposite the church on a quiet cut-de-sac lane. You'll always know the time as the bells remind you every 15 minutes!
There are two pubs in the village - both different, but very good in their own right, with friendly staff, enjoyable food and beer found in both.
Mickleton is a great base to reach Stratford-upon-Avon or the many Cotswold villages and towns in the area.
We would definitely return and recommend the cottage.
From our visit, we have only two suggestions..... 1) A chest of drawers would have been nice in the master bedroom (especially if you're staying for a week or more ), 2) advise what day the refuse is collected, so guests know when to put the bins out, ours were already full from the previous occupants.
Thank you, and we'd love to return.
Gorgeous cottage in Mickleton
We had a very enjoyable stay at April Cottage. It was the perfect accommodation for a wedding at nearby Mickleton Hills Farm. The property is very well equipped with lots of added extras like toiletries and basic store-cupboard ingredients. A welcome bottle of milk in the fridge was a thoughtful addition after a long journey.
Lovely character holiday home
April cottage was lovely. Well equipped, very clean and tidy. In the heart of the village with the local stores, hotel and public houses just a short stroll away.
The only negative for us was the church bells. They rang every 15 minutes which became very annoying.
Thank you for the lovely comments, following your stay at April Cottage. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage which had everything you needed for a perfect break in the English countryside. Although it’s rare to receive feedback of this nature, we understand that the chimes from the electronic clock may bother some guests, more than others and we are sorry to hear that these troubled you. Most guests find St Lawrence’s Church to be endearing and the chimes to be a great feature of many historic Cotswolds parishes. Overall we hope that you enjoyed exploring the area and that you will be back to visit again sometime soon.
Beautiful property - great time
Lovely property in a great location. We chose it because it was a half way point between friends who live in Devon and Yorkshire to meet up before Christmas. We've had a very comfortable time. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen well stocked (not that we used it much!). The cottage is also only a few minutes from some footpaths for walking Ted the dog.
We ate at the Kings Arms a couple of times and the food is very good. The pub is friendly and welcomes dogs.
Just to let you know we think the upstairs bathroom shower may leak into the dining room a tiny bit. One small niggle - the Nespresso machine is quite a slow way to make coffee for more than one person.
We would definitely all stay here again. It is warm, comfortable and welcoming. And Ted the dog loved it too.
We’re glad that you enjoyed your stay at April Cottage and would like to return! The issues with the shower have been looked into, and this doesn’t tend to cause a problem if the shower door is closed properly. In addition to the Nespresso machine there is also a cafetière for guests to use. Thank you for your lovely review and we hope that you return soon.

Lovely cottage, shame about the TV!
The cottage was beautiful and the beds really comfortable. The only fault was the TV was faulty which was annoying especially with the world cup being on!
Thank you for your comments, we’re glad you enjoyed your time at April Cottage. We’ve looked at the television, and it was unfortunately a signal problem with the ITV channel, which is now working again. We’re sorry for the bad timing though. Hope to see you back in the future.
