We love life at the Ranch - so tranquil and beautiful, but we also enjoy traveling as well. It is so fun to explore new places - we love how traveling keeps you fully "present". Discovering a unique place to stay and making new friends is part of the fun! We love great food, yummy cocktails, good wine, funky shops, great atmospheres and people watching! Why April Pierson chose Lavaca County

A renovated farmhouse, originally built over 100 years ago and relocated here. With shiplap walls and ceiling, and longleaf pine floors, this vintage house had old Czech newspapers used as insulation in the attic. The house has one large bedroom on the first floor and a fun "flop room" upstairs in the finished attic, perfect for a slumber party or kids space, with multiple beds. Great space for those who are vertically challenged! The full bath has a soaking tub and a separate shower. There is also a 1/2 bath on the first floor. The wrap around porch is a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning, cook on the gas grill, or watch the sunset in the evening. A great couple's get-away as well! We are far from city lights, so the stars are simply incredible on a clear night.

What makes this Farmhouse unique

The Ranch is available for you to explore, including hiking, canoeing and fishing on the tank, and enjoying the wildlife, woods and outdoors. There is a creek on the northern edge of the property and a shooting range for target practice. This is a country setting - it is beautiful and serene, but realize that there are all kinds of animals, creatures and bugs - we are living in their world. Respect nature and be safe. The cows and horses are curious and large! Best to visit with them from the opposite side of the fence. Please avoid the horses if the dogs are around, as the horses can become unpredictable and skittish. Also, this is a lovely old house on blocks, with an awesome porch all the way around - you can always find shade and a breeze. However, there are no railings on the porch that would block the views, so please take care to remain ON the porch. Tip Alert!!: We have an amazing massage therapist (Nathaly) that will travel to the Ranch (based on availability). An awesome one hour massage is $80 with a $30 travel/set up fee. For a couple, that is $160 for a one hour massage and a $30 travel fee - or $190 total, plus gratuity. She is in line with the best massages we have ever gotten.
