Clean property, good location, some reservations
Our family of 4 (two teenagers and two adults) stayed here for two nights in July.
Pros: the property was clean and well decorated (as other reviewers have noted, the outside deck photo does not reflect the current décor for that area); we liked the location (we didn’t mind the 45 minute walk into town) and appreciated that there was a super market close by.
Cons: the Wi-Fi was spotty, it mainly only worked in one section of the living room, not the bedrooms; we assumed from the pictures that it was a much larger space than it was (it is a small enough space that we had trouble finding room for our luggage in the bedrooms, though there are closets if you want to put everything away that way); unlike other places we have stayed, because it seems to be managed by a property management company with strict clean out rules, there were very few things provided, such as toilet paper, tissues or paper towels.
Things to know: it takes almost two weeks for your deposit to be processed into your own account.
Comfortable accommodation in quiet location
We spent a week here in September and found the apartment very comfortable with pretty much everything that you would need. Stephanie was very welcoming. Picture of the outside does not reflect the outside furniture provided but it is still a nice area for sitting if you wish to relax outside.
Located a good 45 minute walk from the centre of Bordeaux, so good, if like us, you are fit and like to walk a lot, however, there is a regular bus service with a stop just a few minutes from the apartment which we did also use. Parc Bordelais is very close and a nice park to walk about in and the area itself has a few restaurants. We only tried Le Murano which was very nice.
Great space, great position
The apartment was well equipped and we had everything we needed for the week we stayed.
We had a great time staying in Stéphanie's apartment for a few nights. It is beautifully decorated and spotless, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is a bit too far to walk to the centre of Bordeaux but the bus service is good. The furniture on the terrace was a bit sparse compared to the photo, but still a great space for eating outside, especially as we had a toddler in tow. It's also opposite a beautiful, large park and the street itself is lovely and quiet. In all, a great experience.
Nice property, lovely city
We arrived on a Sunday evening. Stephanie was lovely and explained everything about the house. It is very comfortable, nicely furnished and well equipped although air conditioning would have been welcome as it was hot for much of the time! There was no welcome pack when we arrived and with all the shops (and local restaurants) closed we had to go into town for dinner.
The courtyard was a nice outside space, although no loungers and no breeze made it pretty hot.
The bus stop is 5 mintes walk away and takes about 20 minues to town. The local supermarket is very good.
The property is a good base to explore Bordeaux and suited us as a couple. Bordeaux is really lovely, lots to see and great restaurants and bars.
Thank you Stephanie!
Our stay in L'Oscot was superb! The house was elegant, clean and modern and private with every facility that we needed. The nearby Parc Borderlais was the perfect way to take some gentle exercise and enjoy a coffee in the little cafe. On some days, it was so hot, that the shaded trees were a joy.
After a day's sightseeing, it was a delight to return to the calmness of the shaded area on the patio. We used the nearby shopping facilities and also took the local bus, (with a very good timetable) to go into the main city centre of Bordeaux. There is so much to see, the Cathedral, the churches, many lovely restaurants and of course, the shops! The transport system is excellent if you wish to go further afield, ie via the main train station at Bordeaux St Jean. We found the staff there most helpful.
This was our fourth visit to Bordeaux but the first time that we have rented a property and we were not disappointed with our choice.
