About The Owner

Bob and Eleanor Rawls have owned The Property since 2001. We moved here

permanently after retiring. Prior to this move, we resided on St. Simons Island, Ga.

Bob was in real estate and Eleanor owned a dance studio for 40 years. It was quite

a change moving from St. Simons to the country. We are still only minutes from

Brunswick, St. Simons Island and Jekyll.

Why The Owner chose Waynesville

Before moving here, we built the cabin. Bob and I lived there 2 years while our home was being

built. After moving into our home, we decided to start renting the cabin so that others could

enjoy The Property as much as we do.

What makes this cabin unique

Having guest stay at our cabin has been a blessing. We have met the most incredible people

and formed many long lasting friendships.

An outdoor adventure!

  • 5 of 5

First and foremost, Bob and Eleanor were great host! Very respectful of our privacy but yet, there anytime we needed them for anything we needed. My family had a great time. From fishing with my son at the lake, to going down to the private beach at the river, to swimming at the private pool, to playing on the trampoline! Anything that you wanted to do outside was there for you. They had walking trails all over the 135 + acre property and you had your own private golf cart that seated for to tour the property if you didn't want to do a lot of walking. The property was only a short drive from Saint Simons and Savannah. Bottom line, if your family enjoys the outdoors, they will be in heaven here. The house was very clean and had all the amenities that you could possibly want. Right down to the charcoal grill at the house or a gas grill at your own private pool. The pool also had an outdoor kitchen! Like I said, if you enjoy the outdoors,

you could not ask for more! Thank you so much Bob and Eleanor for allowing us, and so many others to enjoy such a great place. We promise we will be back ASAP!

So relaxing!!

  • 5 of 5

We needed a quick getaway! Mrs. Eleanor and Mr. Bob were more than hospitable. The place was very clean and had everything you needed. My husband loved the golf cart and my favorite was the swimming pool!! I have a 5 month old baby that enjoyed it as well! This was our first family vacation together and we visited the Okefenokee Swamp park which was cool... but decided to spend the majority of our stay on the property which was like being at a private resort!

Beautiful!!!

  • 5 of 5

This place was amazing!! Me and my husband came here on our honeymoon, and it was great! Peaceful, beautiful and just a thirty min drive to the beach and okefenokee! We had a blast at the lake and riding around on the golf carts and playing with Molly and Sammy! Bob and Eleanor are the nicest people! We loved every min of our trip!

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!

  • 5 of 5

My family came down from Wisconsin to Waynesville for our spring vacation. We had the best time. The listing and descriptions don't do the Property justice. It is even better. Yes, The property is clean, well maintained, full of amenities, and close to attractions. However, there are not enough stars to rate Bob & Eleanor (&dogs: Molly & Sammy)! They treated us like family!

When it rained, the kids played in the playroom upstairs in the cabin. We were able to go back home with clean clothes thanks to the onsite laundry facilities. There was plenty of space in the kitchen for us to cook just like at home. Our little boys took their naps on the pull out sofa.

Just after arriving, we took an evening hike around the property. We walked over to the Satilla River. On another day, we used the john boat & went fishing on the on site lakes. We roasted hot dogs & made s'mores using the fire pit. We checked out the trampoline, the pool & play area. Our 8 year old daughter had a ball trekking around with the golf cart! Our boys, 1 1/2 & 3, loved running around with the dogs! We walked in the woods & made walking sticks. We ventured over to Brunswick & to Waycross many times. We love going to the Okefenokee Swamp Park & this time the kids got to hold baby alligators! Before our week was done, we tested out our camping gear one night and went camping by the lake.

There are no words to explain how wonderful it was to unplug & simply enjoy time away with our kids. It was great! We are already counting the days until we can return!

Amazing and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Such an amazing place to take a break from life! Bob and Eleanor are the most accommodating hosts you could possibly ask for. They make sure you have everything you need throughout the stay. Such a nice secluded private place. So peaceful and so many trails to explore. If you like dogs, Sam and Molly will give you all the love you want/need. They led us around the trails showing us the right path. :) it was great. Will definitely go back! If you have the time, do not hesitate, it is so worth it!!
