2 double bedroom character cottage with rural views
My partner Charlie and I have lived in Cornwall for the past ten years. We run an off-grid environmental education camp for children near Truro. We live in the cottage during some of the the winter months while our summers are spent at camp living in a yurt! We really enjoy the area where the cottage is located. The beach is just 5 miles away and Tehidy Woods is just up the road for lovely woodland walks. The moor behind the house is wild, rugged and beautiful and there is a network of paths and tracks across it - its the perfect place to be if you are a keen walker.
Claire purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Claire chose Cornwall
It's ideally located for exploring Cornwall and sits at the foot of Carn Brea moor with amazing walks for miles right on it's doorstep. Access to the main arterial A30 road is just a five minute drive away enabling you to get as far as Land's End in under an hour! It's less than 5 miles to the beautiful sandy beach of Porthtowan where there is a tidal swimming pool and a great cafe. Tehidy Woods is just a couple of miles away with lovely woodland walks and although we are in a rural location we have great shops and facilities just a short drive away including the best pasty makers in Cornwall, local pub, a great farm shop selling organic produce and a 24 hr Tesco for emergency provisions!

I loved it!
What a fab place, I absolutely loved my few days here! The cottage has a very homely feel, enhanced by the flowers, the artwork, and the log burner. It is perfectly located for exploring West Cornwall, so I managed to squeeze a lot of outings into quite a short space of time, and I'd highly recommend staying here. I'd recommend arriving in daylight as it'll be much easier to find than arriving when it's dark like I did! The directions are good though, and it's helpful to know it's in the middle of a row of 5 cottages.
The cottage is on a fairly busy road, which didn't bother me, but if you're the kind of person that finds road noise annoying then this wouldn't be the place for you.
Nice cottage in a convenient location to explore much of Cornwall
The cottage is kitted out to a high standard and had everything we needed for a fun week in Cornwall. Claire responded quickly to any questions we had and things went smoothly.
The cottage is different to those we have stayed at in the past in that it is in a small town rather than out in the countryside. This has benefits, a Tesco Extra is close by and we found that even at the height of summer we could easily explore as far West as the Minack Theatre, South to the Lizard and East to Padstow and Fowey. A really fun week and a good base that was excellent value for money.
Nice cottage in the middle of Cornwall perfect for exploring the county
Nice cottage with good amenities. Located just outside Camborne but a great base to explore Cornwall. Bring your own towels though as they are not included. The host did give us the code for their cupboard which did have a couple of towels we could use.
Character cottage in central position for Cornwall
This is a sweet little house, carefully modernised and in a good location for accessing lots of lovely parts of Cornwall. The road at the front is busy, but the back and garden are peaceful.
The facilities are fairly simple (no shower, no tv, no music player) but if you are looking for an environmentally low-impact place this is it.
If 4 people were staying it could feel a bit low on kitchen provision - no spare mugs or cutlery.
The positives are many in terms of being within reach of beautiful north coast, Lizard, St Ives and beyond - but it is not a Cornish coastal rental!
Thank you very much for your feedback and suggestions. I have added additional mugs and cutlery. As you say it is not a Cornish coastal rental but there are many benefits to not being in a coastal village/town particularly in high season when they experience gridlock with traffic and people and getting anywhere other than where you are staying becomes an arduous task!
Great little cottage, perfect base to explore both north and south coasts.
Clean and tidy, with great facilities and loved the art on the walls.
It really was home from home.
