Good location but difficult owner
Have been to the Hilton in Bimini several times and have stayed in the villas managed by Hilton. This was the first time staying in one managed by a private owner through VRBO. The villa was as in the pics, however, needs a thorough cleaning as you could not walk inside the place barefoot as your feet would become black. Each morning hundreds of ants would be in the kitchen as well. Regardless of that, it's the Bahamas and still was an ok place to stay. The owner tried ruining my trip as there was a miscommunication of renting a boat slip when I arrived. I had asked for his number days before my trip to arrange it and to pay, however, he never gave it to me. I ended up making the reservation through the marina telling the marina I was staying in a villa privately owned and wanted to reserve that slip that belonged to the villa and owner. When i arrived i gave the marina my information and my credit card info. That night Robert began emailing me threatening to have me locked out of the villa of i did not immediately pay him for the slip. I told him several times i gave my credit card info to the marina and would go first thing in the morning to the marina to find out what was going on, where my payment was, and would make sure he got paid. Robert was not satisfied and continued harassing me, emailing me another 15 times almost till midnight telling me he would lock us out and ruin our trip. I finally quit responding to him as he would not calm down and listen. In the morning, i did as i told him and everything was fine. Robert, the owner, needs to learn to take a breath, relax, not harass customers or make illegal threats.
DON'T RENT THIS PLACE!
I booked this place and paid $800 plus a $1500 security deposit only to get an email from the owner a few hours later telling me the property was not available and I needed to cancel the reservation. This was very fishy because the cancelation details on the page clearly stated I would lose 50% of the price. Long story short, I spent hours dealing with this mess and 7 days later and I am still owed nearly $200 and VRBO is taking their sweet time fixing the situation. I'm about to call my credit card company and dispute the charge. I used to be a happy customer with the site, not anymore!
