46 Sunlet Bend in Inlet Cove

Relax while enjoying the sunset over the picturesque Kiawah River from the deck of our Inlet Cove Cottage. Ten miles of pristine beach are just 400 yards away. The difference is in the details; recent totally renovation, beautiful décor, interesting art, great entertainment options, well-appointed gourmet kitchen, high speed wireless access, exceptional river views from the screened in porch and both decks.

Our cottage has been completely renovated. It received the highest rating possible – Platinum – which is earned by less than 5% of the properties on the Island. The bathrooms and kitchen were completely modeled with and all new furniture and bedding.

It boasts an ideal central location near the best private community pool on the island (with a kiddie pool too) and bath house along with a magnificent dock on the river where you can fish, catch crabs, boat or kayak. A short walk (or you may prefer to bike) along a tree-covered leisure trail takes you to the West Beach Village (with an ice cream shop, casual dining, an arcade, shopping), a General Store or the beach.

Pools, Pools and more Pools. Besides our community pool at Inlet Cove you have access to the pool at Night Heron Park which is heated (Mar-May & Oct-Nov) and chilled in the summer. In the summer two amazing kids water parks are available with giant slides and water that spills and spouts in every imaginable way. The water parks are located in West Beach at the Tennis Center and at Night Heron Park. All the pools are complimentary.

We have a convenient front desk location within the Resort making check-in and key pick up fast and easy. Should any problems arise during your stay, the cottage comes with an on-site property manager. In the event of an emergency, they can be reached twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

A wide open floor plan - starts with the gourmet kitchen that flows into the dining area and living room, complete with fireplace. This is a great place to gather after a wonderful day at the pool, beach, golfing, kayaking or playing tennis. The desk has plenty of room to spread out and to access the Internet through a high speed WiFi connection. The living room opens up to a large screened-in porch with a patio table and chairs – grab a drink to watch the fabulous sunset over the Kiawah River.

You can also enjoy the river views from the lower deck while BBQ’ing on a Vermont Castings grill or just relax in one of the rocking chairs or hammock. You might catch dolphins playing or feeding in the river.

Each bedroom features new furniture and mattresses, TV and DVD player. The master bedroom has a king size bed and adjacent full bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed and shares a full bathroom with the third bedroom which comes with two twin beds. The living area also has a new 42” HD flat screen TV over the fireplace and the compact CD player is IPod compatible.

Want to Play? You will get preferred tee times with up to 25% every round of golf. You will save up up to 50% off court times and also get preferred court reservations.

With 'Full Resort Privileges' you will also have access to the Business Center, complimentary door-to-door transportation service throughout Kiawah and special discounts on adventure and kids programs.

It will be hard to find another cottage that has as much – the view, the comfort and all the amenities – so come join us at Kiawah!

No pets and no smoking, please.

Activities:

Kiawah is truly a private paradise with over 10 miles of golden beaches, over 30 miles of leisure paths thru maritime forests, unsurpassed river, ocean and marsh views and a beach that can be enjoyed at any time of the day.

About Rob & Candy Lockwood

We’ve always gravitated to the water…especially the ocean. We even got married in the Florida Keys on a sailboat as the sun was setting. It’s seems to have always been that way. My wife grew up on the South Shore of Long Island and spent her free time at the beach on Fire Island. I have lived a good deal of my life on an island in Florida. We are currently landlocked in Winston Salem NC and this cottage gives us a way to get back to the beach more often.

Rob & Candy Lockwood purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Rob & Candy Lockwood chose Kiawah Island

Kiawah is like no other place we've ever visited. It has a unique feel and we love the 'low country' pace. We go everywhere by bicycle and typically don't leave the island once we've arrived.

What makes this cottage unique

We have created some wonderful family memories on Kiawah. Our girls learned to ride bicycles, kayak and hunt for wildlife on Kiawah…and they also developed a love for ice cream as the shop is just a short bike ride away. Each season offers something different and our family was surprised to find out that we enjoyed the fall and winter months as much as we do spring and summer. No matter when you plan on visiting, we know you will fall in love with Kiawah Head too.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time at your home in Kiawah last week. The house was everything we thought it would be and more. Very beautiful with unreal views of the river. We are very interested in renting from you again for next year. I will be in touch when we decide on a week. Thanks again

Car: recommended

Kiawah is a paradise for children. It’s nestled within 10,000 acres of maritime forests and tidal marshes and is one of the East Coast’s most secluded stretches of beach. Nature is Kiawah’s most alluring asset. Enjoy an abundance of things to do, including 30 miles of paved biking and hiking trails that wind through parks and nature preserves. The 10 miles of beach, the Nature Center, Night Heron Park with its basketball and soccer fields are all close by. At night, chase crabs on the beach or look for shooting stars. Kayak, swim, boogie board, build sand castles, hunt for star fish and sand dollars or go for a bike ride on the beach at sunrise.

Notes:
When we come to the Island we like to bring as little as possible and that’s why we’ve made sure that just about everything you need (except food, clothing & beach towels) is ready and waiting. The kitchen is a gourmet cook’s dream and comes with dishwasher, toaster, coffeemaker, dishes, silverware, pots & pans, all new appliances and many extras (including a blender and margarita glasses). All bedroom and bath linens are provided as well as a washer & dryer so you don’t need to bring clothes for a week. The cottage also is stocked at the beginning of the year with boogie boards, beach chairs, beach toys, booster seat with shoulder straps, a pack-n-play and a beach cart that makes getting everything you need to the beach easier. Bicycles, inline skates and kayaks can be rented right on the island. So travel light and take advantage of everything that is waiting for you at the cottage.

We had a really great time! Loved the view of the river.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Inlet cove. We got to go on a kayaking tour with two of my grand daughters down the river where we saw dolphin swimming in the river. We also had a blast on the beach and at the water parks. The house was clean and spacious and we enjoyed the screened in porch. so glad we brought our binoculars for birdwatching! I only had one issue with this Villa, there were no locks on the bathroom doors.

Wonderful Family time!!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 (2 young children) have been visiting Kiawah for the past 3 years. This was our first time staying at this cottage, and we specifically chose it because of the resort amenities (which are a must for us! our kids love the Night Heron Pool!). I must say, we were so pleased to have the resort amenities, but underestimated all the other perks of this particular cottage and location! We watched the sunset almost every night at the dock, talked to fishermen, saw wildlife....watched dolphins. We rode our bikes the short distance to the beach often. We spent countless hours on the back porch listening to music and enjoying the scenery. The kitchen is excellently equipped, and the beds are all very comfortable. For 2 nights, we had grandparents visit, and even with 6 people, we were not crowded at all. The living room is very comfortable and easily accommodated the whole group. Rob was very helpful during the booking process and throughout, providing recommendations on things to do and restaurants to visit. We look forward to renting this cottage again.

Great family unwind time

  • 5 of 5

Husband, 2 kids (10 and 14), parents and I went to old stomping ground of Kiawah Island this month. While things have changed greatly in the last 30 years, the experience was still a great one!

The villa was perfect in size for the 6 of us. Cozy and comfortable living space for gathering together and enough bedrooms to spread out if quiet down time was needed. Loved the location of being a short walk to the beach, having a river view, and just steps away from the nice pool and awesome dock at Inlet Cove. Wooded area surrounding the villa was lovely and the shaded screened-in porch perfect for feeling like you were out in nature without the hassle of bugs.

Rob was very helpful with recommendations for rentals, restaurants, shortcuts to the beach and such. We loved biking around, grabbing bites from The Market, writing gator and deer sighting updates on the Nature Preserve board and hunting shells on the beach. Best was probably our boat rental which led to a shark catching, sand dollar finding, crabbing experience that the whole family enjoyed.

We would return to this Villa tomorrow if we could. Thanks, Rob!

Family Friendly

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a week at this cottage. The cottage was family friendly and provided everything we needed for the week. I was pleasantly surprised to find a high chair, pack and play, and floats for my son to use, all of which were in excellent condition. We so enjoyed the access to the Night Herron park that came with this cottage! What a relaxing week with no need to leave the island!

Just booked our fourth stay at the Lockwood's cottage

  • 5 of 5

We genuinely enjoy coming to Kiawah and the Lockwoods' cottage for a few weeks every year to escape the NE winters. We love the cottage itself...charmingly decorated, always pristine and perfect size for us to spend a few weeks. The location is great for us for so many reasons. First, we love being in sight of the river and the marsh. Sitting on the screened in porch this year watching birds, dolphins, sunsets, kayakers has been delightful. The cottage is less than 10 minute walk from Beachwalker park and the beach and we go almost daily for long Beach walks...sometimes being one of a handful of people there. It's great to be close to a market and several great restaurants including Hege's and Red's. And we have been able to do some fun sightseeing to Beaufort, Savannah and of course Charleston. Having the Kiawah resort services available is also an appreciated feature...we have booked nature boat rides that have been highlights of our visits. We also like that this cottage is secluded from the bigger resort in a small gated community before you go through the main gates. Quiet and peaceful!

Equally important, we have found the Lockwoods great to deal with. On our first visit there was a snafu but one phone call to Rob got it straightened out promptly and professionally. Rob is a pleasure to deal with!

We are so glad we stumbled on this cottage on Kiawah....it has become a very special place for us to visit every year!
