It's very calm, peaceful. The outdoor space is very good for a barbecue.
This house is good for people who want to be separate from the "world". It's very calm, peaceful. Very important information that you see the ocean just from the top terrace.
A little piece of heaven!!
Can not say enough about the small, quaint, little town we stayed in, Faial Da Terra. The host, Paolo was the best and very accomodating to all our needs. The home was gorgeous, spacious and very private. I would only suggest to have a converter or two for electronics in the home for those visitors not familiar with the electricity. Thank you Paolo, from the bottom of our hearts! When he states he will meet you at the airport you will be glad he did :)
We did a lot of sightseeing across the island. Our favorites was the thermal pools and spa ...so relaxing. Restaurante Tony's was just yummy! Famous for their Volcano Cooked Stews BUT you can not beat their Bacon Wrapped Chicken Kabobs ... to die for!! Our favorite breakfast and bakery was in Provocao! A Pik Nik, Snack Bar, local food and great sweets!! Great Staff and very clean!!
The whole island is clean and everyone we came in contact with was pleasant!!
We shall return!!!
It was wonderful!!
Paulo was an amazing host! He had our car rented, met us at the airport and brought us to his home! It is a beautiful and quiet part of the island with so much to do and see. Paulo greeted us with coffee and treats and told us all the best places to see! We had a wonderful time! If you want a relaxing and peaceful vacation this is the place to go!

Paulo’s house is a wonderful place to stay for a small family or a couple - charming court yard, beautiful old house and an outdoor fireplace! Location and view are superb! We had a fantastic week and are hoping to be back. Paulo is very helpful and attentive host. Thank you!
Peaceful mountain retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Casa Santa Rita. Paulo is such a gracious host. He met us at the airport with local food and wine in hand. He kindly guided us to the property and even gave us a small tour of some of the beautiful attractions along the way in Furnas.
The house is a peaceful retreat located steps from a wonderful hiking trail. The small village has a market, restaurant/ bar and an ATM. All are within walking distance from Casa Santa Rita.
If you’re looking for an escape from your busy life, this is the place to unwind.
We LOVED Casa Santa Rita
The property was clean and spacious, plenty of room for us. There is a double bedroom on the first floor and an upstairs loft with two singles and a crib. The outdoor kitchen and courtyard were amazing. We probably spent 85% of our time there enjoying the fire and sharing meals.
We enjoyed watching a town/church celebration while we were there. The roads were closed and decorated with fresh cut greenery and flowers as clergy, church members and musicians proceeded through town.
Paolo is a great host. He met us at a nearby hotel so we could follow him to the property. He was also kind enough to leave us with a few staples to begin our stay.
Highly recommend hiking to the waterfall. Ribeiro Quente, a beautiful black sand beach, is worth a trip as well.
We look forward to returning to Casa Santa Rita in the future.
