Cozy, clean, and beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a rough start to our honeymoon and arrived a day later than planned. Upon arrival we were greeted by James who informed us of some snacks in the fridge and went above expectations to make us feel comfortable after a difficult start traveling. The Sol cottage itself is cozy and clean, and is the perfect spot to come back to after a long day of exploring. I would highly suggest getting a Jeep, the drive to the cottage isn't nearly as tough as some of the other roads on the island, but there are a few twists and turns at a steep grade that will keep you on the edge of your seat! The open air shower is something you get used to, if you don't mind bugs. I personally showered with a scorpion on the wall above my head, but neither of us bothered each other and all was well. The air conditioner upstairs is a life saver, we experienced a power outage across the entire island and found out real quick how hot it gets upstairs! Overall, my husband and I highly recommend this cottage, it is beautifully maintained and is priced affordably in a classy neighborhood.

Perfect Getaway Cottage!!!

  • 5 of 5

We have been visiting St. John yearly for 20 years. Sometimes twice a year. We have always rented 2-3 bedroom villas. We wanted to make a quick weekend getaway and this owner of the cottage allowed shorter visits so we booked the cottage. We are so happy we did. We found out you don't need those larger villas when vacationing on St. John. The cottage was absolutely beautiful. It was so easy to find and in a very nice neighborhood. A lovely place to take morning or evening walks. Very close to a trail that takes you down to Reef Bay. Cottage was decorated nicely and very clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. Just an excellent place to stay!!!

Cozy Cottage with all you need!

  • 5 of 5

This was a really cute little cottage not far from Cruz bay and several other awesome beaches, but was so quiet and peaceful. Had everything we needed and more- fridge, coolers, beach chairs, wifi, cable. Loved the décor also. Has a little spiral staircase that leads up to the bedroom & another bathroom is, which was not easy to bring luggage up to- but we didn't need to. Only issue was the mattress was a bit uncomfortable, but was actually being replaced with a new one the day we left. Sheets were super soft though. James also left a bottle of water and some amazing deli meat, cheeses, sauces and pasta salad in fridge for when we arrived... after our over 12 hours of travel was so appreciated! It was so good we ended up going to that deli several times during stay so that we can pack & eat lunch on the beaches. Owner lives on property so if you needed something I'm sure is easy to get ahold of, but gives you total privacy. We highly recommend this place and our next trip out would love to stay longer!! Thanks so much! Melissa & Brad Bagnall

Sol Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. It is very private, quiet and surrounded by greenery.

  • 5 of 5

Sol Cottage is really clean and tastefully furnished. The cooking facilities are adequate and the weber BBQ is a great addition. The host had left a wonderful array of snacks for our first meal which was fantastic particularly as we arrived late in the day. He was also really helpful both before and during the stay.

It is in a really quiet area and you need a vehicle to access it as it is about 15 minutes to the ferry terminal. I would also recommend getting there before dark so it is easier to find. We would come here again if visiting this area.

Great Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently spent 10 days at Sol Cottage. We rented a jeep in St. Thomas and took the car barge from Redhook to St John. This was our first trip to St. John and we were able to find Sol Cottage without difficulty with the directions provided. We were delighted when we arrived at Sol Cottage and found it to be charming and peacefully tucked away in a lovely garden type setting. Very private and quiet. The cottage was tastefully decorated and well appointed with great attention to detail. We enjoyed the fresh flowers placed throughout the cottage and were so grateful for the delicious deli treats provided upon arrival. Such a nice surprise after a full day of traveling! We loved the outdoor shower, grill, beach chairs and coolers provided by Marc and Beth. They truly provided everything we needed for 10 perfect days of exploring St. John. Every day felt like a treasure hunt and we were not once even slightly disappointed. We loved Sol Cottage and are planning to return next year.

Wonderful stay at Sol cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent four nights at the Sol cottage. We found everything as described - the cottage was spotless and well equipped with everything needed to explore St. John. After arriving later than expected, the deli supplies were a Godsend. A very thoughtful touch. A short drive back to town will connect you with the many things St. Johns has to offer. We did have a bit of trouble initially locating the cottage the directions but a call to our host put us on track. We enjoyed the screened in porch. The outdoor shower was the best! We found the upstairs quite lovely -- a comfortable bed, a separate bathroom and even books to read. (As noted by others, the spiral staircase might pose a problem to those with mobility issues.) A great place to stay!
