Welcome to Punta Arena 1E. Our home is a rare combination of a newer executive caliber home (by Canadian and American standards) integrated into the heart of an authentic Mexican beach side town.

You will not find a home any closer to the beach or with better pool and beach access than our home. You can literally throw a stone from the inside of the living room into the ocean.

Almost the entire 'ocean side' of the home opens up with retractable sliding glass doors so that the deck becomes an integral part of the living and dining areas. The deck is a fabulous 60' long and will be the focal point of your holiday. It is outfitted with 2 chaise loungers (with cushions), a sofa, 2 lounge chairs, 2 'pub' style tables with stools/chairs, a gas BBQ and more.

Although our unit is on the 1st floor the balcony is elevated about 9' above the pool deck and lounge area and the views are absolutely unobstructed (except for the odd palm tree). The pool and lounge areas are almost right underneath you and you can easily converse or watch family members either in the pool or at the pool deck from the balcony. Our unit is the only unit in the 30 unit Punta Arena complex that allows you to directly access the pool and ocean off your own private balcony. Security is provided by a private stairway complete with lockable gate.

Our home is very well furnished/outfitted and contains many items (and quality) not usually found in a rental/vacation property. The overall feel is that of a quality hotel. The kitchen and entire home is well stocked and lacks nothing. The furniture in the entire home was custom made and is rich, comfortable and practical. The towels, linens and bedding are all very good quality. Mattresses are all top line Sealy pillow-top. All three baths feature body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers as well as hair dryers. Guests will have access to lots of little extras that we hope will make your holiday the best ever including: 2 boogie boards, soccer balls, pool umbrella, beach umbrella, and lots of kids and adult beach /pool toys.

Our home is unique that both of the 'master bedrooms' have absolutely unobstructed ocean views and direct access to the deck making it a great property for 2 couples both wanting a 'great sleeping room'. Both master bedrooms have; king beds, full en-suites, TVs with 'Starchoice', mini split air conditioners, and lots of closet space. The 3rd bedroom features a great child friendly bunk bed and a king bed that can 'split' into 2 twins.

Music and TV is provided by 'Starchoice'. DVDs or Satellite TV can be enjoyed in surround-sound. For those who need/like to communicate we have a great wireless internet for your own laptop, a fax/printer/scanner/copier combo unit, and a local phone.

Although our home features 5 remote controlled 'mini split' air conditioners it was designed with flow-through ventilation and stays very cool without any air conditioning. By simply opening both the ocean and the 'rear' windows the ocean breeze keeps each of the 3 bedrooms and main living/dining areas cool.

The beach is what you want; safe, sandy, and longer than what even the most aggressive walker/jogger could hope for. The surf varies from occasional 'surfboard' waves to the usual norm of mild 'boogie board' waves to quiet swells. The water in front is shallow, sandy, and perfect for kids.

Common amenities include an infinity edge pool, spacious lounge and social areas, gym, poolside showers, poolside washroom, and stairway from the pool deck down to the beach. Although crime is extremely low the property has security, remote controlled vehicle gates and locking/electronic pedestrian gates. 1 parking stall is provided with your accommodation but with the great location a rental car is not really required.

The maximum occupancy rate is 6 adults. We are very accommodating owners but will have zero tolerance for guests who are not honest with the number of occupants who will be in our home. Occupancy exceeding your registered limit will result in loss of damage deposit and ban from future rental. We may discount our rates for smaller groups with longer stays. If you have already been to the Bucerias area then no introduction to the charm and attributes are required. Punta Arena and our home is located 1 block south of the town center and at the south end of 'Restaurant Row' It is 2 properties south of the 'dry gulch' and the 'pedestrian bridge' to the markets and town center.

If you are not familiar with Bucerias it offers the very best of the Bay and the PV areas. You could stay a month and eat every meal out and never go to the same place twice. A great meal and a Corona at an ocean side restaurant can still be had for under $10.00. All the groceries you require for 'dining in' can be obtained at the local markets just a short walk away but if you are not that adventurous you can shop at WalMart, Costco, Sams, and Mega.

The accommodation is everything you would want and the the location is perfect for experiencing all than Mexico has to offer right at your doorstep. Bucerias is a great place and this is perhaps the finest unit in Bucerias. We hope you can enjoy our home for your holiday.

Another excellent stay

This was our third stay at Punta Arena 1E.Our previous visits were for a month each time but this time we could only fit in 9 days.When we arrived it felt like home again.We didn't do much this time as it was only for 9 days of rest.We swam,spent many hours on the deck and spent time at our favourite restaurants.They include Sandrina',Toscana Mia's,Luna Luna and Los Perico's.Thank you to Teresa,Martan and all Punta Arena staff members.We are grateful to the Grund's for allowing us to stay in the best unit in all of the Bucerias area.The unit has everything you would need on your vacation but also the best sunsets you will ever witness sitting on the deck.Thanks again Grund family and Punta Arena staff for a wonderful vacation and hopefully we can return soon.Doug Mckellar and Beth Zimmerman London Ontario

Well appointed, great location

The pictures hardly do it justice. All of the amenities and utensils are up to date and well cared for. Even the knives were sharp! There are also some spices available for use for cooking. (Not that you need to cook often or at all with all of the restaurants in the area!)

There were well stocked puzzles and games to use as a family. The pool access from the balcony was great, especially with young children, and there are some sand toys on the balcony that can be used as well.

The pool is a centerpiece of where we spent a lot of time. Both of our children improved their ability to swim significantly. During our stay, the wind regularly picked up mid-afternoon which made it feel cooler than the reported temperature by the pool, but there was very little breeze right on the beach (compression effect of the buildings). On the plus side, the wind kept the building cool all day long!

The waves on the beach were surprisingly loud. They provide a continuous back drop of ocean sound. Two of the bedrooms open onto the balcony so you can wake up with the waves right out your window!

The entire area is filled with great shops and restaurants and friendly people, both local and ex-pat.

The condo had a list of must-do's in the area. They were all spot on. From taking local transit to Sayulito, to getting groceries, local markets, massage and restaurant recommendations, lessons in surfing, kitesurfing, SUPing, and other area tours, Bucerias in general and Punta Arena in particular were an amazing stay.

There was security on the premises, and we always felt safe in the area. I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back again. It feels like a place you can live and relax without the sensation of being just a visitor.

BEWARE THIS PROPERTY IS A KNOWN TARGET FOR THIEVES

I saw this listing on various sites. I contacted the owner and he was happy to take my money. AFTER I had paid and signed the rental agreement, he informed me that the property had previously been broken into on multiple occasions while the occupants were sleeping and electronics were stolen. I stayed a total of 7 nights and on the 5th night WHILE MYSELF AND MY YOUNG KIDS were sleeping, someone broke in and stole my laptop, cell phone and an expensive hat. Coincidentally, the security guard who was working that night wasn't the usual one, he was filling in. When I discovered the missing items in the morning I asked the staff to see the video footage from the security cameras. One lady told me they had been unplugged accidentally, and another told me that they had not worked for the past 9 years! It was at this point I suggested that it sounded like an "inside job" esp. because none of the owners things were taken, and decided it was necessary to provide my own security as their security was either in on it or incompetent. There were only 3 units being occupied in the entire building, and this is the only unit with a door to the pool area which COULD be where they entered, however there was also a bedroom window that doesn't lock, and staff also had a front door key. When my personal security arrived, (who happens to be known by my best friend of over 25 years, lives in the area, and was also convinced the staff was in on it) the staff said that they were threatening them (untrue) and decided to go home for the remainder of my stay, ABANDONING THE OTHER GUESTS (probably to hide my things) I contacted the owner of this unit and he was absolutely no help at all. He couldn't have cared less, and in fact was upset that I had brought in my own security for my family. PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW that if they choose to stay here, it is a target and you cannot depend on the security staff as they are most likely in on it. NOT WORTH THE RISK ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE YOUNG KIDS!! So after I was robbed in his unit, he tried to rob me as well, adding insult to injury. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS and UNETHICAL. Owner will most likely respond and say that I am lying, but everything is 100% true and I feel very strongly that the vrbo community should know the risks associated with this unit.

Owner's Response: As the owner of this property the only error that was made was not requesting prior references on this guest. This was my only negative rental experience in 7 years. Her review was written after she had stopped payment on her damage deposit check and I contacted her for payment. Note her stay was June 14th - 21st and her review is July 5th. Upon her and her 'unregistered guests (she calls security)' departure it t took 2 maids 3 days to clean the property. Please review the rest of the guest reviews. 80% of our renters are return guests. My wife and I are very trusting people however after this rental experience we will require new renters to provide at least one creditable reference. Regarding her false claims I have an email trail with her and pictures to substantiate the mess that was left as well as the problems her 'unregistered friends' created. My wife and I are grateful for the 7 years of wonderful renters we have had, of which many are now our friends. We can provide numerous reference for future renters to contact. Better than Great

Wife and I stayed with our two adult kids and their spouses, two grandkids. When we checked in, everyone had grins so big we didn't need the lights!! Plenty of room for all. Big closets, lots of hangers, drawers. If you fill up the closet - you brought too much. This is a fully equipped 1st class home that real people live in; not just a hotel condo. Spices in the cupboard, dish and laundry soap, beach towels and toys, big washer and dryer and lots more. Books on the shelf, games in the credenza etc. Every kitchen do-dad you can think of. Dishwasher. If you can't find it, you didn't look or ask. There is a binder with lots of hints and maps. Nice big bathrooms with good showers. Both blackout and privacy shades on all windows. The deck doors open way up letting in lots of breeze.

The deck is huge. Spent lots of time reading my book watching occasional beach passerby's while I had easy access to the fridge. Really comfy chairs. Good mix of sun and shade. Big umbrellas on roller casters to move them around. Bar-b-qued once on big unit. Great. Watched pelicans diving, frigate birds soaring, local fishermen casting nets, - and even dolphins!

12 steps down to the pool. Theres a shower right there. Lots of deck chairs. Pool is only a few inches deep at each end, slowly sloping to shin deep at a set of stairs going down to about 5 feet deep in the main area. Water temperature very nice and no noticeable chemicals. Kids lived in it. Lots of room. Theres a bathroom on the pool deck. Beach has nice sand, surf size changes with the wind, and just down the beach is an area of good surf breaks.

This home couldn't be better located. There are lots of great restaurants located within easy walking distance. We even got take out from Maison Bay located almost next door. Enough little stores for make it yourself snacks or even meals. We did do one shop at Mega, but found enough in the town. Security was around but discreet. The key pad system was very convenient. Nice gym behind the pool deck. (wife ran, I read). Lots of stores to shop in.

Not far to bus. Went to Sayulita for a day trip for 18 pesos each by bus. ( cab maybe 250) Cab to airport about 250

All in all this was a first class property. It is a home, and has every little thing like one. Better than great!

All you could wish for.

thank you for sharing your vacation home with our family and friends. Your place is even nicer than your pictures, everything is perfect. There was nothing extra needed, you have every need covered. We really enjoyed having the side stairs to the pool and easy to go to the beach. When we had a little problem with the drains Rachel was a great help, it was looked after instantly. Love how close we were to everything but not right in town. So easy to get to the buses for touring around also. Having stores so close also made it handy for little extra. Our kids really enjoyed the night security and would bring him treats home in case he was hungry. We have told all our friends how wonderful it is and we can not wait to come back.
