Nice place but not the best experience
Our first impression entering the condo... we thought it was unusual that there is no entry way light. If you arrive after dark, you have to walk into the kitchen in the dark before there is a light that can be turned on. We thought the breaker was tripped or a light was burnt out. Nope. Just no entry way light.
The other parts of our experience were mostly due to some bad luck but how they were handled didn’t help the experience.
First, the TV didn’t work. I contacted the owner and he sent someone pretty quickly to work on it. But we spent the next few hours watching this guy try to get a working TV. He said he was more of a handyman and not too savvy with electronics.
Finally, the fireplace didn’t work. Again, contacted the owner and he sent a few different people to come up and try and get it started to no avail - seemed to be a bad starter.
In the end, it was a nice place. Just a few unfortunate issues made it not too enjoyable.
Small but parking
While it is stated that this is a studio with a Murphy bed, it is so small that there is no room to do anything other than sleep. The bathroom door hits the entry door and since it seems to always creep open, it obstructed the entry door when returning to the unit daily.
Laundry is a plus. But this place is rather bare bones. It is no Youth Hostel, don't get me wrong, as it is a premium property (the Silverado is), but unit has very basic amenities. Fridge, oven, microwave are small, cabinets are so limited that all the pots and pans are stored in the oven.
No balcony and quite claustrophobic. TV is medium size with a little better than basic cable. Cable could use and upgrade though, it was cumbersome to navigate, find the guide, select shoes, and overall system seemed a little outdated.
While the parking is indoors and quite convenient, the location of the unit in relation to fitness, public/private transport, lobby and civilization is less than optimal.
The Canyons skiing is a nice reprieve from the bustle of the main Park City Mountain. It is a cut above when compared to original Park City. Think Beaver Creek vs Vail Mountain, a little more luxury but both are quite nice. It is fun to ski Canyons in the morning and head across the 3 lifts and a gondola to Park City after lunch and ski with the "public". It is a nice journey between the peaks with tremendous scenery, and even if we ended up on the Park City side at day's end, the city bus dropped us off right in front of the Silverado. Very convenient.
This property is absolutely not walking distance to the lifts in ski boots. The free shuttle is a must for all but the most physically fit. The shuttle is great and drops you off right at the Canyons Sundial Hotel which is the main gateway to the Gondola and Orange Bubble life.
While I would definitely stay on the Canyons side again, and perhaps even at the Silverado, I will look to a little larger and more deluxe unit next time around.
Host was easy to work with, allowed an early check in, place was clean, front desk and shuttle are managed by Vail Resorts (a huge plus). Silverado is nice, clean, and well run. Hot tub not very hot; my son said the pool was warmer than the hot tub.
The place was very cozy for two people
We enjoy our stay at the Silverado. The room was pleasant and offered all amenities that we needed for our ski vacation. The location is very convenient and has a great shuttle service. The bus to Park city stopped right outside the facility.
Thank you John
Perfect for a couple !
Bed was SO COMFORTABLE.
Access to everything, great location
Modern, clean, everything you need
owner was very responsive !!!!
Great Cozy spot for a week of skiiing.
The cozy studio condo was perfect for my daughter and I . We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed 4 full days of skiing. The staff at the Lodge was great. Every morning we cooked a big breakfast then we grabbed our skis from the locker in the lobby and enjoyed a free cup of coffee for the 5 minute ride to the bottom of the Red Pine lift. This was my first time skiing in this area and I loved it. Everyone we interacted with was helpful and friendly. Parking is free in a garage under the building. After skiing we enjoyed the pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. I would definitely return. The property was as described and clean. Room for 2 but not more. Owner was responsive and helpful.
Have used the condos at Silverado and Westgate the past couple of seasons. Each time the places have been clean, stocked with fresh linens and towels soaps etc. John has always been available helpful before and during our stays. The location is right next to the slopes as well. The place has tons of amenities such as gym, spa, and underground parking. The Silverado staff is excellent as well!
