About Mrs Melissa Hope
My name is Melissa Hope. The Hope family has farmed on Powgavie for over 100 years. The two Powgavie cottages, Eppie and Flisk, formerly farm workers' homes, were extended and refurbished in 2008. Since completing the cottages we have enjoyed welcoming guests from around the world and sharing our beautiful part of Scotland.
Mrs Melissa Hope purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why Mrs Melissa Hope chose Perth
This property is a comfortable home away from home. A perfect peaceful retreat to relax and also a great central base with good transport links for exploring the surrounding area. Dundee and Perth are both close by. The Cairngorm National Park and Fife attractions such as St Andrews and Edinburgh or Glasgow make a great day trip.
What makes this Cottage unique
Great... (i) base for visiting friends and family in Perth, Dundee and around (ii) location for getting to the Highlands, and to Edinburgh and Glasgow (iii) for families, including visitors with restricted mobility (iv) for golfers (v) for relaxing in a peaceful rural setting (vi) for enjoying the view of hills, the Tay and its bridges and Fife ....finally (vii) we are really excited about the V&A Dundee opening in September 2018. There are loads of other events going on in Scotland's 'coolest city' and one of Lonely Planet's 'must visit' destinations.

Great little cottage
Lovely comfortable cottage with heaps of space to chill out
A lovely, clean, comfortable, cosy cottage, well equipped, stunning views and so quiet
This is our second visit, we stayed in the property next door last year. Both extremely comfortable, 2 bathrooms, well appointed, 3 bedrooms, beds extremely comfortable! The property was lovely and clean, sometimes you feel you want to wash items in the kitchen but not here, all was immaculate. The property has stunning views and is situated in a very quiet lane which leads no where! It was a good base, visiting family with my 86 year old mother and 90 year old auntie, the property is all on one level with no steps. It was nice to come back to a lovely warm, cosy property. The washing machine was useful situated in the utility with a freezer. Thank you Melissa for the lovely strawberries and plums! My auntie and Mum loved it also, we would love to come back! We stayed in the cottage for a week at the beginning of September, the weather was very kind and we managed a couple of visits to Jessie's in Broughty Ferry, they have amazing cakes!
Fantastic location for exploring the area
Just enjoyed our fourth visit. This very well appointed cottage has everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The bonus this time was the fantastic weather.
Melissa, Ian, and David Hope are genuinely interested in making sure you have everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Flisk cottage has all “mod cons” and is very comfortable. We had relatives visit during our stay and all were very impressed with our holiday cottage.
We will be returning and would thoroughly recommend this property for anyone wanting to explore Perthshire or enjoy a relaxing break.
A really lovely spacious cottage, very well equipped, amazing views, cleaned to a very high standard, very close to our wedding venue and everywhere else we visited, would highly recommend 😊
