About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Welcome to Hidden Bay, one of God’s special creations. The beauty of nature surrounding our newly constructed waterfront cabin will amaze you, and the peacefulness will take away the stress and tension of everyday life. Enjoy fishing, canoeing or just relaxing on the large covered porch with unobstructed views of the water. Irises grow along the shoreline, water lilies in front of the deck, and wild rice in the bay. Watch for the resident eagle as he circles the bay and keeps an eye on the mother goose and her goslings in the water and the mallard hen that nests here! You will most likely see and hear the loons as well.

Our newly constructed, 1,000 square foot cabin has two 8’ sliding doors facing the water and a walk-out 10’ x 24’ covered porch. The view from the porch is ever changing as the sun comes up and passes overhead to create a beautiful sunset on the bay and western horizon. There is also an 8’ x 10’ deck on the water’s edge for sunning, fishing, or just relaxing with a cool drink in hand. In the evenings, enjoy a campfire in the fire pit.

The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances and everything you need to cook. Dish towels and dish cloths are furnished. An outdoor charcoal grill and outdoor seating is also provided.

The living and dining rooms are open with a cathedral wood ceiling and a fieldstone fireplace with sofa, recliner and rocking chair for a comfortable evening. A TV with DVD, VCR and CD player could make for an enjoyable evening listening to music or watching a movie.

The master bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a double bed. Both rooms are carpeted and have quiet overhead fans. All linens are provided.

There is a full bath with all the towels you need for your stay.

You can spend your days at Hidden Bay just relaxing and taking in the views, or enjoying one of the many activities available in the area. Nearby you will find Smith Lake SWIMMING beach and many HIKING paths in the nearby state forests and parks. FISHING for bass, musky, walleye and panfish is excellent. And, excellent CANOEING. Canoe the North Fork from the Turtle Flowage to the Holcomb Flowage. A canoe and life jackets are available at the cabin! There are hundreds of acres of public land within just a few miles for HUNTING grouse, deer and bear.

GROUSE HUNTERS welcome.

The town of Park Falls, just a short drive from the cabin, has plenty of restaurants and shopping as well as a swimming pool, theatre, bowling alley and hospital facilities.

In the fall you will see some of the most beautiful scenery in Wisconsin.

This is the perfect North Woods get away for …….

BABY BOOMERS: One 3” step gets you into the cabin. A beautiful front lawn with a gradual slope down to the pier and deck makes this a very compatible vacation home for elderly couples.

HONEYMOONERS: End of the road location and no neighbors makes this a quiet, peaceful get away!

Wonderful cabin in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cozy, clean cabin that greeted us late Friday evening. It was even better waking in the morning and seeing just how beautiful of a place that we were lucky to have for a couple of days. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, drinking many cups of coffee and hearing nothing but the sounds of nature! The cabin had everything that we needed, well maybe a corkscrew would be nice. We managed to open our wine without out one. We spent one day 4 wheeling around the Park Falls area, it was a lovely day with plenty of SUNSHINE. The next day it rained all day so we did a tour around the area, about 100 miles, so fun to see the Minocqua area. Thanks for allowing us to rent beautiful"Hidden Bay"

Great Labor Day Weekend Getaway with the Family!

  • 4 of 5

We really loved our stay at Hidden Bay. It was really away from it all. We loved being on the water and not having close neighbors, which was perfect for campfires and leaving our kayaks near the water. We had plenty of room both outside for our trailer of 4 wheelers and inside too. The cabin is perfect for a family of 4. My kids did not want to leave the cabin, when it was time to leave. It was really clean and updated, the owners really take great care of the place and they answered my numerous questions before we arrived. The only minor complaint would be to get newer beds and pillows, we(my husband and I) didn't sleep the greatest, but our kids had no problems. Also, I would suggest getting a new shower head too. But the bath tub was brand new and there was plenty of space in the bathroom. It was great weekend and we built many memories while there for a short time. A bonus, all the people we came across on the lake while kayaking(both on land and in the water) were really friendly and welcoming.

Calming and Close to nature. Awe-inspiring riverfront view of well sculpted natural surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

Nice quiet area near Northwoods supper club. The home itself was very clean and well appointed. Best moments were enjoyed on back porch taking in the view and sounds of nature over a cup of coffee. (saw a bluejay!) Went canoeing - careful of tree stumps. Went hiking and ate at nearby restaurants. Good grocery shopping. Next time we would bring our bicycles and ride a trail or two. Brochures and maps at the home were very useful to us to explore the local area.

Peace and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay here. The house is the last one on our little bit of Pixley Flowage so it was just us and the loons and the frogs. We made lots of day trips to the surrounding area for hiking and some shopping. We also made good use of the canoe when weather permitted. The cabin was nice and cool at the beginning of our trip when it was in the 80's and cozy and warm the last couple of days when it was raining. We had a very relaxing week which was exactly what we were looking for.

3 Generation Guytime - Best VRBO yet!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have stayed at several VRBO homes throughout the US and Caribbean and without question this was the cleanest place we have ever stayed. The owner, Gloria, was very timely and prompt in our communications, the cabin and land were very accurately described in their property listing and the location was just perfect. I booked this property for my father (70) and two boys (12 and 9) for an extended weekend of 'Guytime'...bird hunting, late season fishing, hiking and just hanging out in the Northwoods. The cabin is well appointed, easy to get to off of HWY 70 yet very secluded (no road noise, no noise from neighbors, canoe provided, great little bonfire pit and Dish TV...it was the World Series after all). Great hunting and hiking in the National Forest, awesome locals and barkeeps...recommend checking out Musky Jack's on Pike Lake. Also, the Round Lake Logging Dam is a cool little hike and sight to see and the covered bridge east on HWY 70 is worth the drive. Cannot thank Gloria enough for the opportunity to rent her cabin for the weekend and would highly recommend to others. Also, for skiers, snowshoers or fat-bikers there are some great "Silent Sports" areas of the national forest that are within a 15-20 minute drive of the cabin...may try to book again this winter if available. Thanks Gloria!
