Paradise absolute paradise!

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived we were completely taken back in awe. It way more then we expected. It was so surreal. Everything from the location, view, and beach themed decoration inside. We instantly fell in absolute love with the home and property. Some of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen in my life! And the sunrises on the back were beautiful too. The public beach down from the house was nice we only went there once. Why when we had our own private beach. The neighbors were friendly and informative. But Scott the caretaker was very informative and a sweetheart. We experienced dolphins every day at least a few times a day. Twice they came right into shore in front of the house and we were able to get in with them and follow them. At one point I was 3 ft away from them and the one dolphin raised its head out of the water and looked right at me!! I swear it smiled at me. Every morning we saw baby hammerhead sharks, every evening we saw stingrays. Scott told us how to do the stingray shuffle. As this was our very first ocean/Gulf experience. Be seen all kinds of crabs on the beach and in the water. One really big blue crab. We had so much fun chasing the crabs and laughing as they ran so fast sideways. The large birds that would visit the shore to eat were beautiful. We also had pelicans fly by every morning. We seen turtles laying eggs. The water was so warm the most perfect bath water. We could walk out in the water for a long ways. We never got to take the kayaks out. But that's ok there was always something to see and kept us occupied. We never turned the TV on once while we were there. We did go kayaking down the weeki watchee river and encountered 4 manatees. The neighbors came and told us that there was a high tide and storm warning in effect. And told us what to expect and what to do and had us put our car in their yard that was on higher ground. I thank them for that. The house also has beautiful bikes to ride. And I put them up high so that the salt water wouldn't get to them and rust them. But the water never got that high to worry. But I didn't want to take a chance since this was all knew to us. The water did come up to the deck and it was another life experience for us. We are from NY and our vacations have always been Disney resorts. This is our new forever vacation spot. Thank you Valerie. Looking forward to coming back next yr for two weeks this time. Absolutely perfect maintained home. Perfect hidden gem!

A little piece of paradise

  • 5 of 5

Cute cottage, awesome view , very relaxing, kayaking around the island was fun ,as well as kayaking the nearby springs..we were a little bummed that the bikes were lost in the hurricane so they went and bought 2 new ones for us to use...awesome restaurants...the property mgr. that showed us around very helpful and informative...overall a perfect vacation...dolphins, and manatees everywhere

..even saw bald eagles....

Only thing that could be better was the water pressure esp. In the outside shower..and we wished there was a private road sign at end of street to keep the cars from coming down the road trying to park to avoid the fees at nearby beach...and turning around in the driveway........we will be back

The PERFECT Beach House

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six (husband, adult son, teenage daughter, 10-year-old son, mother-in-law, and myself) loved, Loved, LOVED the Sandcastle Beach House! It was absolutely perfect and literally took our breath away! The view was spectacular, the grounds and landscaping oh, so pretty, and well-maintained, and the house was immaculately clean and simply charming! Our family enjoyed drinks and relaxing on the private beach, cooking and dining at the beach house each and every night, and watching the sunsets from the screened-in porch. All three kids had fun paddling around in the kayaks, and my husband and I even kayaked around the entire island! The water was crystal clear and VERY shallow which was quite a relief for this over-protective mother! The outdoor shower was AWESOME, and there were plenty of beach chairs/toys, so leave those at home! The house itself looked like a page straight out of Pottery Barn and had everything we needed, including plenty of bedding, towels, washcloths, and even a large supply of beach towels! The kitchen was a dream, and the only thing missing was a colander on "Spaghetti Night," but we managed! Valerie, the owner, was quick to respond to all of my queries, and Scott, the caretaker, was very kind and helpful on our drive to the beach house, even recommending dinner at the Bayport Inn on the evening of our arrival! We truly enjoyed our stay at this beach house and hope to return! It was simply lovely, it was perfect!

Perfect Beach Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time to the Pine Island Beach stilt house. The property is completely well-maintained with upgraded renovations. The most exciting part of our weekend was seeing dolphins and having the kayaks readily available to paddle out and be close to them. Sunday evenings there is live music drumming at Pine Island Beach. Willy snack bar nearby makes the best coconut shrimp! We also enjoyed early Sunday morning bike riding before the beach crowds came. The property manager was available if we needed anything. Beautiful sunset right in the back of the house. We will definitely rent this property again in the future.

Lovely private oceanfront view

  • 5 of 5

The house if literally feet from the ocean. The beach was essentially private; boulders on each end of a group of homes keep the setting private. A large screened in porch provides a protected but lovely view of the ocean. The house itself is tastefully but subtlely decorated. It is absolutely lovely. The proprietor was friendly, responsive and helpful. Our vacation was lovely from start to end. Definitely plan to visit again.

Beautiful, idyllic home

  • 5 of 5

We booked sandcastle because of the 5 star ratings, we were not disappointed. On our arrival we were greeted by Scott's wife who gave us a tour of the property and answered all our questions regarding the area etc., sandcastle was immaculate, everything and more had been provided. We watched the Dolphins most days, a few times they swam alongside the kayak that was provided with the property which we used everyday, because the water is so shallow, it was really warm. We have stayed at various villas in Florida over the last 15 years, this was by far the best. We would like to thank Valerie for her help with the booking and speedy responses to our many e.mails. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay in a beautiful home with amazing sea views. Need we say more.
