About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths, (Sleeps up to 11-13)

Our Breckenridge Home is a fabulous year-round retreat with a large open floor plan and breathtaking views of the ski mountain. This home has been constantly updated and just underwent a significant renovation completed in August 2016.

*** PLEASE EMAIL OR CALL US IF YOU ARE INTERESTED AND WE WILL QUICKLY CONTACT YOU BACK - WE HAVE RENTED THROUGH VRBO & HOMEAWAY OURSELVES AND WE BELIEVE IN A PERSONAL TOUCH!!! ***

THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE RENTAL WITH TYPICAL CHEAP, MOUNTAIN-THEMED AMENITIES! From the furnishings to the linens to the kitchen appliances, the decor of our home is upscale, contemporary, and most importantly, comfortable. This is the perfect home for 2 - 3 families with children, 2 – 4 couples, or a group of friends looking for the perfect mountain vacation.

Whether you are coming to enjoy Breckenridge for skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, golfing, or to sample one of our local cultural festivals, the location of this home is ideal. We are minutes away from the ski-mountain gondola, main street Breckenridge, the Blue River, and the only Jack Nicklaus-designed municipal golf course in the country.

Our home also features a wonderfully situated and beautiful (and clean!) hot tub which stares right at the Breck mountain range. Sit and enjoy the view while you soak out the kinks!

The house has two stories, with the main living area upstairs. The open floor plan includes a BRAND NEW (2016) GOURMET KITCHEN with stainless appliances and an island that seats four adjacent to a large dining area with seating for eight. The family room has a huge, vaulted ceiling with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide unreal mountain range views, a gas fireplace with built-in bookshelves, a large micro-suede sectional sofa that seats 7-8 with a leather ottoman, and a media center with a 60-inch LCD HDTV and Sonos wireless control from your Apple or Android device. The master suite features a bath with heated floor and steam shower as well as tub. A separate queen bedroom with adjacent full bath is also upstairs.

Downstairs has a large informal living room with two large leather sofas, a 50' flat screen HDTV with its own cable control and separate DVR. There is also a warm, cozy wood-burning stove in this living area. It is the perfect place for kids to watch movies or play games, or for adults to sneak away with coffee and a book. There are windows across the entire downstairs living area that allow additional fantastic views of Breckenridge. (And, for the executive that can’t fully unplug there is an office area with WIRELESS INTERNET and even a PRINTER/SCANNER!)

Downstairs, there is one bedroom with a king Tempur-Pedic bed, and another large bedroom with two extra-long twin beds (which can convert to a King) as well as a bunk set (room sleeps 4 comfortably). Both bedrooms share a full bath downstairs. The home has huge, expansive decks both upstairs and down that offer spectacular views of the mountains.

The things that make our home truly special are the ideal, livable floor plan, the comfortable, upscale décor, the convenient and accessible location, and the amazing, UNPARALLELED VIEWS of the mountains. We invite you to come and experience what we feel is mountain living at its finest! Call or email us with specific questions or for more photos.

To Recap, here are the bed/bedroom arrangements:

BR #1 (upstairs): King Tempur-Pedic Bed (master suite w/luxurious private full bath) - sleeps 2

BR #2 (upstairs): Extra Long Single Bunk over Double Bed (w/adjacent full bath) - sleeps 3

BR #3 (downstairs): King Tempur-Pedic Bed (w/adjacent shared full bath) - sleeps 2

BR #4 (downstairs): Extra Long Twins converts to King Bed (w/adjacent shared full bath) plus Bunk Beds - room sleeps 4

(Be aware: there is one negative to our home – you’ll never want to leave! See this review: We could not have picked a more perfect home to accommodate the needs of our entire family – we loved it, the kids loved it – we couldn’t believe that we found a home as nice and as comfortable as our own with THOSE VIEWS!!! The Caldwells, Hickory, NC)

About Kevin Lontz

Julie and I (and our dogs Lyza and Jake) are both originally from North Carolina and moved to Colorado a couple of years ago. We're both busy professionals but love all that Colorado has to offer (so do Lyza and Jake). We love everything outdoors and particularly enjoy snowsports (Julie enjoys skiing and snowshoeing while I ski, snowboard, nordic, snowshoe, backcountry ski - pretty much everything...). Kevin's favorite sport (and most recent sporting addition) is kiteboarding, including snow-kiting during the winters on snow covered Lake Dillon which is 10 minutes from our Breck home. Kevin also really enjoys fly-fishing for trout and floating Colorado's rivers and running whitewater. So, you can see why we love our home in Breckenridge.

UPDATE: We now have a son - Jackson - who is 5 yrs old. He has been skiing since he was 2 and the '14/'15 season will be his 4th on skis (Julie tells me that he can't snowboard off the garage roof like I've done for at least a couple of years...)

Kevin Lontz purchased this house in 2007

Why Kevin Lontz chose North Breckenridge

We bought this home because of its location in the middle of Summit County which has every possible outdoor mountain activity within steps or a close drive. However, we had to have tremendous views but yet also be close to the ski slopes, great restaurants, and other conveniences like grocery stores, liquor store, workout facilities. This is absolutely THE HOME for that. Many homes in the area have great views but yet are far away from town (even 5 miles out of town can be a huge hassle during peak weekends with lots of congestion). Other homes are truly ski-in, ski-out, but they have no views, are very cold because they don't get light, and are really unappealing except during ski season. This is our dream home and we've enjoyed creating incredible dreams for our family, friends, and guests who have enjoyed the home.

What makes this house unique

Interestingly, we never intended to rent our home. However, when Julie got pregnant in late 2008 and found out that she wouldn't be able to ski during the 2008/2009 season, we decided that we'd rent the home (Julie couldn't stand to think of even being at the home and looking out at those ski slopes and not be able to ski them!!!). We had furnished the home as a true home and just as beautifully as we had furnished our Denver home - again, this is a 2nd home and wasn't originally expected to be offered for rental. So that's an important distinction - so many homes (and trust me, we've seen them...) are furnished as rentals first - this is a big difference and you can see it in the style of the home. We also are continually updating our home in terms of the smaller, but important, amenities such as audio-visual, etc. With all that being said, our home is generally priced to be very competitive with all homes (even those that we would never even consider staying at).

In addition to the furnishing of the home and the views and incredible location, the other thing that you'll get from us is a 'personal touch'. We've rented direct from owners ourselves and have had some great experiences and some others that weren't so great - we get it. We want those that rent our home to truly feel as if they are our personal guests - they are. From our responsiveness to the inquiries we receive, to the questions we ask about what you're looking for in a home and about your group, to answering questions prior to your arrival and helping to give you a 'leg up' on planning certain aspects of your trip, we always want to treat our guests like we ourselves would like to be treated. Its just what we do and how we are! Thanks for having an interest in our very special home! Kevin & Julie

Guestbook comments from the owner

This wonderful home made us feel like at home! Thank you so much for setting up many activities around the house - that made us feel more welcomed! And the view...couldn't ask for anything more! Loved the house!

Thank you so much!

August 09 Rental

  • 5 of 5

Wow what a wonderful home to stay in on our Breckenridge get-away this summer. There was so much room for our family of 5 and we could easily have asked friends to join us since there is so much space. The home is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Everything we needed was there and more. Kevin and Julie were so helpful and quick to respond to several questions during our visit. Thanks for the great accomodations and we look forward to a return visit next year.

Best view in Breck

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this amazing home and I don't think we will stay anywhere else when we are visiting Breck. We visit often and Kevin and Julie's home is our absolute favorite. The updates are beautiful and the views are INCREDIBLE. We had everything we needed plus more while we stayed. The kitchen is great for cooking and socializing with everyone inside and outside on the patio. The first time we stayed was in the winter so it was nice to visit in the summer and really get to utilize the patio and the backyard. We hardly spent anytime inside because the views, the weather, the space, is hard to beat. One of the best things about this home are the owners though. Kevin checked in often to make sure everything was going well and if we had any questions he was quick to answer them which we truly appreciate. We cannot wait to visit again this snowboarding season.

Owner's Response: Amanda: Thanks! So glad to have you return and so happy that you had a great trip. We've rented other homes before where the description was better than the actual home - that's not right. We ALWAYS want to overdeliver relative to expectations and we ALWAYS want our great guests to want to return - as you have a couple of times. We look forward to seeing you back again soon! Best, Kevin & Julie

Spacious House with Gorgeous View

  • 5 of 5

This house had everything we needed. A downstairs area for the kids to hang out and make noise. A roomy upper level with a great view and big kitchen. You can watch the groomers crawl over the mountains at night. This house is very convenient to downtown. Less than a five minute drive and your parked in the Breckenridge Gondola lot. The owner Kevin is very attentive and helpful if you need anything. And the hot tub was awesome too!

Owner's Response: Hey John: So glad that you enjoyed the home AND the view - the latter never gets old and is different every day! We always want our home to be BETTER than what is represented in our listing and we always want to very RESPONSIVE to our guests - its what separates us from typical property-managed homes in the area. We hope you'll come back again one of these days! Kevin & Julie

Amazing House Amazing Host

  • 5 of 5

We contacted Kevin to rent his place for my family and my wife's family over Thanksgiving Break. Kevin Contacted me within an hour and was extremely helpful with making sure his house was a good fit for our situation. With this, I really appreciated the fact that he spent the time to know what kind of dogs we were bringing so I knew he was comfortable with us having our dogs in such a beautiful house. We did have to pay an additional fee for the dogs, but it was reasonable and was put to good use in our situation. My Golden Retriever got into something during the trip and got sick :( I was up front and honest with Kevin about my dog getting sick on his brand new carpet and asked him to assess it and to let me know if any additional charges were needed. I was extremely happy with how he handled the situation. As for the house, WOW, what a stunning view from the hot tub, front porch and upstairs kitchen and living room. We spent most our time upstairs with the TV off and all the windows open. Downstairs was perfect for the younger kids as it had a room with 4 beds in it and a large TV with a Wii. Adults and Kids spent hours battling each other in bowling which was extremely fun! Threw out our stay Kevin was available when we had questions or needed help with something at the house, and as I said before he was extremely helpful with our pets and families accommodations which helped facilitate one amazing Thanksgiving trip with the family. I would have to say that Kevin was one of the best home owners I have dealt with when using VRBO or any site like it. Thank you Kevin for such an amazing trip, we will be back in the future!

Summer Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My wife, English Bulldog, Gabby and I drove in from Dallas to escape the heat. The home was wonderful, and a made a comfortable place to relax and work remotely. We enjoyed the space and great views from the deck. Nice place to have a glass of wine in the afternoons! Very convenient to town with access to hiking and the Blue River.
