House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10)
Our home is a 3 bedroom plus den, 2 bath home located on Heart Lake in northern Minnesota, just 5 minutes away from the headwaters of the Mississippi River. This majestic home sits on 2 acres of land with 200 ft of lakeshore that will provide the perfect environment to unwind and enjoy your vacation. Our home has high cathedral ceilings in the living room, kitchen and dinning area with many windows to provide a great view of the lake and surrounding outdoors.
A private and quiet, secluded lake with great bass, northern pike, crappie and sunny fishing (you can catch keepers right off the dock). Take in the beautiful sunsets serenaded by the loons at dusk; watch the deer feed in the yard mornings and evenings. Listen to the birds sing in the morning and the frogs croaking at dusk. (get the picture?).
There are plenty of indoor activities too; movies, board games, puzzles, coloring books and crayons, cards, cribbage, chess. poker, Chinese checkers. After the daily activities sit around a crackling fire burning in the large stone fire pit. Cook burgers and hot dogs on the swing-out grill (don't forget the marshmallows). Relax in the 2 person Jacuzzi tub upstairs in the master bedroom suite.
Or just take a blanket to lay on and gaze at the stars.
This place is about relaxing while being as active as you want to be. Play horseshoes, croquet, badminton or volleyball ( games supplied). Hike or pick wild raspberries. Enjoy water sports like jet skiing, water skiing, boating or fishing. Take the paddle boat or canoe out for a ride ( both provided). Take the kids to Itasca State Park for a bike ride. Go golfing at nearby golf courses, horseback riding, four-wheeling or just take a hike in the woods on one of the many trails around the property.
Take a siesta under the trees, sketch a loon and her babies in tow or take a walk in a winter wonderland. Relax, enjoy yourselves and forget about the rest of the world for awhile. Come stay at Heart lake for an experience you won't soon forget.

The property was purchased in 1988 and there were many years spent coming every weekend all summer camping in tents, then a camper bus and then to a small mobile home. In 2000 we started work on building the home from the ground up with the help of all the children. The home is a labor of love. Over the years we have continued to make improvements on the home and landscape to get it where it is today. In the spring and fall I still come home to enjoy the peace and quite that only the Minnesota north woods can bring.
Jacqueline purchased this House in 1988
Why Jacqueline chose Bagley
We have lived and traveled in many different states. When I started to look where we wanted a vacation spot I just kept coming back to northern Minnesota. There is so much variety, with the four seasons and all the lakes. Most of all the sound of the loons call on the lake on a summer night while sitting around the camp fire with friends and family.
What makes this House unique
The home is on a 220 acre private lake and very secluded with only 16 homes around the lake. Private boat landing. The fishing is excellent. Hiking trails nearby. Adjacent to state snowmobile trail. Itasca State park (headwaters of the Mississippi River) 3 miles away.

Our family had a wonderful stay. The house was immaculate and welcoming.
The boys loved the loft area and claimed it immediately. We especially enjoyed the
quiet and privacy of the lake home. We were also on a quest to see the headwaters
of the Mississippi and we were only a couple of miles away from Itasca state park – North entrance.
Great trip for us. Hopefully see you again next year.
Beautiful and comfortable property
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay! The owners were very easy to communicate with and everything was as expected. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. Great setup for a group with plenty of rooms and places to sleep. I don't think the pictures do it justice - the cabin and surrounding lot were beautiful and we loved being there during the fall to enjoy the trees changing colors. We would definitely stay here again for future getaways!
Lovely cabin, lovely atmosphere!
Regardless of our crummy-weather-weekend, my brothers and I had a great time staying at "Tranquility at Last!" Jaqueline was always working with us to make our experience the best AND it was! The living room/kitchen is very open and it was awesome to have such a large space for all of us to hang out around without feeling cramped. The rooms are well set up, comfortable, and big enough for bigger groups. And of course, I can't forget the best part: THE OUTSIDE! There's so much to do outside with plenty of deck space and yard to roam around, play games, or do whatever. Awesome, wonderful stay and we might even be heading back into the great wilderness to spend more time at this cabin. Loved it.
Great place and very relaxing!
We had a girls getaway and loved our time here! Plenty of room, lots of different sleeping areas, sitting areas, and the kitchen was great to use! The lake water was very clear and the lillypads made us feel like we were in a painting. Very beautiful and secluded. None of us had cell phone reception (which was actually really awesome), but there was a landline that we used to to check in on one friend who was arriving late to make sure she was finding her way. For those of us with iphones we could hook up to the wifi and send imessages, but we didn't really use our phones/internet that much which was so relaxing and fun! Very cute place. Would definitely recommend.
excellent location for peace and quiet. had some issues with pontoon and the general condition of pontoon it has seen a lot of wear and tear. not quite the property we were looking for. this being our first time we had some learning to do on what to look for in a property and what we ultimately wanted to do for activities while we were there over all we had a good time and enjoyed ourselves.
45th anniversary celebration
We loved the quiet and privacy of this beautiful property. The house was clean comfortable and a lot more than my husband and I needed, but we really enjoyed it. It would have been great to include our daughter, son in law and 3 grandchildren. Maybe next time.
The property is located just off a state snowmobile/ATV trail adjacent to Itasca State park.
Itasca State park Headwaters to the Mississippi just 2 1/2 miles away.
Excellent hunting area with state an county land close by.
