'Life Is Not Ruff At Paradise Bluff'
~ We look forward to seeing you ~
Steve & Susie
We own and operate a successful furniture business in the town of Loose Creek, Mo. (suburb of Jefferson City) We enjoy our time at our slice of heaven after searching for over 16 years for the perfect place. Our home is everything we were looking for and a whole lot more so we decided to name it Paradise Bluff as it is located on top of a bluff!
The Owner purchased this house in 2007
Prior to purchasing our guest home, we searched for 16 years looking for a location that overlooked the Gasconade River and had auto access close to the waters edge. Five years prior to purchacing our home we rented a rustic log cabin up stream from our current location.
Our guest home is only 20 minuets away and with our work we don't know when we can be away until the night before. We always enjoyed boating, camping and fishing on the river so we started looking for the perfect hide-a-way along the river.
We are in the furniture business so we have good quality furniture and bedding throughout our home. Our philosophy is work hard, play hard and to acheive this, you need good furnishings to rest and relax well!
We love to cook outdoors so we have two propane gas grills, Weber charcoal grill, a large brick bbq pit, and a bbq trailer that will cook 5 hams at one time.
Our home is remote and quiet but close enough to civilization. We do have neighbors but their homes can not be seen from our home.
You can launch a boat one mile up stream at the Rollins Ferry conservation access or you can launch a canoe at our property and float for 8 miles down stream to the Pointers Creek conservation access.
When we are at our home we like to take the boat out and motor up streem and grill dinner. Our dinner usually consists of a steak with boiled shrimp along with other goodies. We then relax and enjoy a leisurley float down stream at dusk as the sun sets over the silver grey limestone bluffs along the way back to Paradise Bluff.
A wonderful, relaxing two week stay was enjoyed by our family at the river home. All the beds were very comfortable and updated. The great room was nicely furnished with comfortable, modern couch/recliners topped off with a new flat screen TV. The kitchen area is very large, updated with granite tops with plenty of eating area. The adjacent pantry room is huge and accommodates a very nice, new washer and dryer. The bathrooms have been upgraded including granite counters, all with shower and/or tub with shower. A beautiful wood deck runs off the great room and master bedroom upstairs. Downstairs there are two queen beds, a bathroom and enough area to hold a party. The available folding tables and chairs make this area very conducive to having a nice get together, very nicely done. As a result, our family reunion with 30 plus people was a great success.
What we really enjoyed was the peace and quiet of the river home. We slept like babies. It is located about 1 mile off State Hwy. 89, away from any traffic noise.
While sitting on the outside deck we saw cottontails, blue birds, woodpeckers, and our favorite, the Red Bird (Cardinal). The lightning bugs fluttering between the trees were a special treat at night while on the deck. In the front yard area we saw several deer as well. One evening we saw an owl in flight. A short walk down the hill is a nicely done entry into the Gasconade River, a nice place for a cool dip on a hot day. There are inner tubes, life jackets, camp chairs, BBQ's, coolers, canoes, and much more available. The river home is a great place for a family vacation, family reunion, a friendly get together with friends, or a place to chill out and relax. The river home made us feel like we had a home away from home. Very comfortable.
Steve and Susie went out of their way to make sure we had a great vacation and family reunion. Thank you Steve and Susie. You are great.
Such a lovely place to get the family together and visit. Clean house with well groomed lawn and a really nice dock. Steve gave us a walk thru when we arrived and then we were on our on to fish, boat, grill, and visit. We sat on the dock by the river in the shade and had a great time. We would go back in a heartbeat!
Our family group of five greatly enjoyed our stay in "Paradise"! We were impressed with the scenery, the beautiful home, the solitude, and all of the more than generous amenities provided by the hosts, Susie and Steve. They went above and beyond what anyone could ever expect to make our stay a wonderfully memorable one. The home was immaculately clean and comfortable and proved to be the most thoroughly provisioned rental that we have ever experienced - ah, the incredible pantry. The spacious deck answered all of our grilling and lounging desires. The trips to the towns in the area were impressive in that we learned about the history of the area, saw beautiful countryside, ate at wonderful restaurants, visited and toured a good number of the most impressive wineries that we have ever visited.
The listing's description and photos depicted the property exactly. My family has stayed at the Paradise Bluff property for the last two years and we are looking forward to this years visit. The activities that we have enjoyed as a family are: visiting the near by winery's, floating the river, and hanging out in the secluded property.
Making the arrangements for our gal pal stay was quite easy with the owners. They answered all my questions promptly and offered additional information as well. The beds were comfy, the place was immaculately cared for, and the owners very kind and attentive. That pantry was the envy of all of us! The deck area was where we spent much of our time and even in very hot weather, allowed a breeze near the river side. Since the river level fluctuates it is difficult to make accessing it a breeze. The hill path that leads directly to the river is tricky and should be approached with caution by older folks. A dock and a few trees cut to allow a river view are the ONLY things this place needs to be perfect. We were well pleased and hope to visit again in the fall or winter. Thank you so much for sharing your paradise with us. The Thriftway in a nearby town has all the groceries you need so there's no need to shop ahead. AND the owner directions to the home were excellent.
We had our Boy Scout troop outing here. The property was very well maintained. The scouts in the troop canoed on the Gasconade, had a bonfire, played a variety of games around the property. We were, also, able to watch the St. Louis Cardinals play in the World Series in the house. Overall we had a great time and look forward to using the property, again, in the future. Thank you Steve for hosting our troop and helping to ensure a good time was had by all.
