What makes this house unique

Wooded location. True log cabin feel with all the amenities. Safe swim area in wide part of no-wake cove that is close to entrance - no boat or skis going directly by.

Sitting on the porch (try the rocker) with the stillness and serenity of the lake views is the best way to renew and recharge.

Plenty of room for the whole family without feeling like you're in each others laps all the time.

Special Place!

  • 5 of 5

Only got to spend a couple nights here and would have easily spent hundreds more. This place is amazing. If you're on the fence do it! Andrea is great, super accommodating. The house has everything you could need, even for our 1 year old. We were already looking up dates to come back and bring the family. Hot tub was nice and hot, the lake was awesome, super close proximity to the grocery store, nice and quiet. We loved it. Thank you !!

We completely enjoyed our stayed. Everthing was great. Weather was perfect. Lake view, charming house, outdoor fireplace, jaccuzi...

I gave 4 starts because of the dirty pots and pans. The kitchen was extreamly unorginized, outdated. Pots and pans were very dirty and old, we could not use..

Time away for a wonderful stay

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I, and our Boston Terrier, thoroughly enjoyed our 8 day stay this month of September in this beautifully secluded retreat. The accommodations met our needs, the scenery especially the lake was breathtaking, the owners Andrea and Roger were gracious and accommodating and we were able to bring our pet which was wonderful. Now if my husband caught more fish that would have made the trip even better! We will return next year. Thank you

Very Comfortable and Peaceful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was great. It had beautiful views of the lake from the great room and plenty of outdoor space for barbecues. The property is nice because it is very private and quiet. The hot tub was clean and hot when we arrived. The inside was clean and had everything needed.

The dock and it's screened in patio were great as well. Very peaceful for fishing or a glass of wine as the sun sets on the lake. Pretty much the only thing I would recommend is clearing out some area by the dock for easier entrances and exits from the lake.

Owner's Response: Thank you. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your "Retreat" from the workaday world. And thank you for the suggestion. We're planning on remodeling the cabin early next year and will be sure to spend some time on the outside as well including improving access to the dock and the water. I hope you'll come back and check it out once it's done. Be sure to Like Us (Lake Cabin Retreat) on Facebook so you can follow the remodel before and afters. Hope the rest of 2017 is happy and healthy - Andrea

Quiet Comfortable. Cozy Cabin

  • 3 of 5

This was our first time vacationing on Lake Anna so we looked for a while to find best place for our first vacation with kids and grand kids. The house is a blend of cozy cabin with authentic log walls and updated family room. The outside decks and quiet cove lake location were great for grandkids. Dock is in no wake zone so can float around and swim off dock safely. We were disapointed by no walk in beach access as was advertised . The path was all overgrown down to water. Really nice to be able to dock your boat there and boat rental dropped boat off just down around bend from house. The three bedrooms(beds) are comfortable but will agree that the cleaning of this place needs to improve. Large spider webs in corners of bathrooms and bedrooms. They also have inside window in them that open to lower levels so you can hear people that may still be up below you. Cute touch for cabin but effects noise levels. Was concern for kids falling too.. Kitchen has everything you need but again oven was pretty filthy and toaster oven should be trashed.!Wanted to use upper screened in porch off deck but had to sweep down large webs and clear out sticks and other debris. Dont think outside grill has ever been cleaned either. The place is in the middle of woods so is expected you will have webs and debris but thought before guests arrived they would give good cleaning & sweeping. Don't plan to use the small living room Futon to sleep on either. It is very old and was was like laying on a rack. Luckily we brought extra air mattress. The downstairs sleeping is very nice but very damp. Lots of room for kids and pets to romp in house. Bathrooms on all floors. We had one half day where we had no water as the septic system failed and we had to hang out to let the plumbers in to work on repairs. We had to give them inside access. . We woke up to an alarm sounding and did not know what it was. We knew something up when toilets not flushing and dish washer water came up in kitchen sink. These things happen to homes so don't hold against owners but was a big inconvience on vacation. The best thing about this place is lake location and the feel of an authentic log cabin. Would return.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and your patience with the pump failure on the septic. I'm glad to hear that you would return, as next year, I think you'll find things very different since we're planning on a large remodel of the main cabin. The spider webs should have been taken care of but there was a change in management at our pest service and we got skipped this summer. When I became of aware of it, I had them out immediately. I'm surprised that the futon in the sitting room isn't comfortable as it was replaced just last year. Thank you for letting me know. It will be removed with the remodel. Normally we stay early in the season to take care of the path and check on things. It's important to us that things are nice for our guests. We thought we could make it through the summer knowing that we would be remodeling but were unable to stay this year due to a family emergency. We hadn't realized the path had gotten so overgrown or that the grill needed attention. Thank you for letting me know. Please do come back next year and give us the opportunity to show you how much Lake Cabin Retreat can shine. Please like us on Facebook and follow us as we remodel.

Amazing location, great home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week and loved the house! The location of this retreat is probably one of the best on the lake; nice protected cove but only 2 minutes away from an area where you can waterski and/or tube. In front of the house there are no speeding boats/jetskis. Great for families with kids.

The house itself is truly providing a cosy cabin feeling. Best parts of house are the large (partly screen in) waterfront dock, the large deck overlooking the lake, large hot tub and fire place. Shopping is only a few minutes away.

The owners were very nice and welcomed us with a bottle of wine. Communications were easy and response typically in hours.

Thanks for making our family time so enjoyable. We look forward returning to this lake front gem!
