About Mary Palmer
Tony and I have lived in the Algarve for more than 30 years, and brought our two children up here. We live in the countryside just north of Lagos and enjoy growing our own vegetables, walking our dog and generally being in the fresh air. Our hobbies are cycling and running, and the Algarve is an ideal spot to do both of these activities. We now have two grandchildren who love to come to visit and we try to get to the UK to see them as often as possible.
Mary Palmer purchased this Cottage in 2011
Why Mary Palmer chose Figueira
We love Figueira, it is a great location as it has everything on the doorstep, yet it is quiet and timeless, and has retained all the charm of a sleepy village with its narrow cobbled streets and whitewashed cottages.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our favourite feature of Casa Antonio is the large covered terrace, perfect for watching the sunset and enjoying the tranquillity of the setting.

Ganz nach unserem Geschmack
beautiful house with nice atmosphere
We had a nice welcome in the cafe bar next door with Mary. The house has an overwhelming atmosphere and eveything you need is there, even a Weber barbecue grill. We found a bowl filled with the best peaches and other fruits on the table - that was great! Extra wishes like a radio were fullfilled quickly. Absolutely recommendable: We will come back!

Figueira is a small village well located to benefit from beautiful countryside as well as beaches on both the south and west coast of the Algarve. The nearest beach is Figueira, which is a two minute drive then a ten minute walk along a narrow path. Nearby is Salema, a fishing village well known for its beach and restaurants. Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure Resort offers golf, tennis, gym and spa facilities, plus a large swimming pool, and is located a ten minute drive from Figueira. Lagos Zoo is a twenty minute drive away and is delightful, with many birds, primates, and a children's petting zoo. The town of Lagos is twenty minutes by car and offers a lively night life and large selection of restaurants. To the west of Figueira is Sagres, known in former days as "the end of the world", and famous for the navigators who set out from there to discover new lands. Sagres and the west coast beaches offer great surfing opportunities, with several schools operating out of Lagos and Sagres.
