About Julie King

My husband and I have lived in Southern California for our whole life. As a kid one of our favorite things to do was going to Disneyland and hanging out at the beach. You can do all those things while staying in our house. Since becoming a vacation rental owner, we have changed the way we vacation with our family. We prefer to rent a home over a hotel. So if you have not tried it, make this your first time, we think it won't be your last.

Julie King purchased this house in 2008

Why Julie King chose Hermosa Village

Disneyland draws people from all over the world. Angel's Stadium for baseball fans and the Honda Center for hockey fans. Anaheim is centrally located, so it is easy to get anywhere you want to go in Southern California. Los Angeles has much to offer and is not too far. San Diego has LEGOLAND, about 1 hour drive, Sea World about 1 1/2 hour drive, you also have the zoo and Wild Animal Park as well. Drive a few miles and you will find the ocean. The beaches are fun and all have a different personality.

What makes this house unique

Staying in a home verses a hotel is the perfect way to build wonderful family memories. A private swimming pool is our guests favorite feature. Time after time, I am told by our guests how much they enjoy the pool and sometimes the kids ask to leave Disneyland to go swimming and cool off.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We can't stop thinking about how "perfect" this place was for our first California adventure. We will be back & I will be telling all of our friends & family about this great vacation home.

Thanks again !

Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

This house was absolutely terrific! It was only two blocks from Disneyland so you can walk or catch the shuttle. The house was very spacious and immaculate. The owner was very thoughtful and had everything you could possibly need if you have small children or teenagers. The house was stocked so that we did not have to purchase anything but our food. You could also see the fireworks at night right from the house. The pool and hot tub were to die for! The property outside was exquisite and very well maintained. I wish it was our house. We were near all major attractions and restaurants were right around the corner. There are major store chains about two blocks away. If we come back to Anaheim we will be sure to stay again!Good job Julie, you should be proud of your beautiful home!

Great vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed staying here. The home was very clean. Everything we needed was there. I have to say the bed was one of the most comfortable vacation beds we have slept on. And the water pressure was better than my own home. The kitchen had everything we needed. The couches were comfortable. The backyard is nicely landscaped. Unfortunately we did not get to utilize the pool or hot tub due to the weather but will look forward to staying again in warmer weather so we can. They were both very clean and heated nicely. We loved eating many meals on the patio and getting some fresh air. This house is conveniently located to Disneyland which made it easier to take breaks and rest or eat through out the day. It saves a lot of money and for folks with little ones the house and yard allow ample space for them to play. We would definitely stay here again!!

Great place we enjoyed it!

  • 5 of 5

Only hastle was the parking but we figured it out, it would be nice if the owner has a parking permit to give out for extra cars, would gladly pay for it.

I wish we didn’t have to do some work before leaving (laundry, wipe stove etc.) since there was a cleaning fee, it’s not like we were gonna leave the space incredibly messy but I understand.

Had all the supplies we need and more. Julie was easy to contact via phone, house alarm was a peace of mind. Would stay again!

I didn't get the warm and fuzzy's...

  • 3 of 5

Reason for my rating- After a long day of travel we arrived at the house only to be locked out. We hadn't received any check in instructions or door codes. It was pitch black, we had a car full of groceries, and 2 small kids antsy to get out of the car. It took an hour for Home Away to get us access. The owners phone was off so she was unavailable to provide immediate assistance. The owner was nice when she called, but it was rather annoying and inconvenient.

2nd reason- EVERY night at 11pm and 5am we were awoke by god awful noise coming from the master bathroom. My only assumption is that it may have been a sprinkler system running. I emailed the owner regarding the noise in case she wasn't aware it was happening, I never received a response back even acknowledging the issue. After a long day at Disney it sucks to be woke up right after falling into a deep sleep, and even worse to be woke up earlier than your alarm clock wakes you up on a work day when you're on vacation.

The house could definitely use a little TLC and a deep cleaning. The high chair was disgusting, I had to thoroughly wash and sanitize it before I let my kid sit in it... All in all I was disappointed, we were referred to Julie's property by a friend and we didn't quite leave with the warm fuzzy feeling like they did.

Pretty nice but needs some TLC

  • 3 of 5

When our family was looking for a home to stay in during our Disney trip we had a long list of must haves. After searching for weeks, this house seemed to fit the bill. To give you an idea we had 4 adults, and 5 children 12,10,8, 1, and 9 months.

For the most part, this is a great house. The house was pretty clean, minus the cobwebbs in the corners. The living room does not have adequate seating for 9 guests, which is what the house says the occupancy is. Which after a long day of Disney we really would have liked to all sit on the couch and comfortably watch TV. The exposed brick fireplace is gorgeous but has sharp corners that you will want to be aware of if you have smaller children like we did. The listing says two pack n plays are available but we could only find one, luckily we brought our own, just in case. The steam shower that looks amazing....OUT OF ORDER, super bummed about that one. The game room is not connected to the house. So our kids refused to use it. I can’t blame them, not to mention it’s just a pool table and a Nintendo game cube. The pool was fabulous! We were so excited to BBQ and spend a day relaxing in the pool.....not mentioned in the listing, you have to bring your own propane for the BBQ. Again we got lucky and there was just enough left over from the last guests who bought propane. Also, our little walking toddler couldn’t be left for a second outside to play because the pool fence had a hole in it big enough for my 10 year old to fit through. The kitchen was well stocked. I ended up using my own portable travel high chair that I take to restaurants because the provided high chair has no safety belts and was filthy. I scrubbed it down because I couldn’t leave it like that.

The master bedroom has a tv in it the size of a shoe box so don’t expect to enjoy TV in bed. The queen bedroom is nice but it’s a tight fit, especially if you have a pack n play set up.

The bunk room was awesome, except the WiFi didn’t work in that room. Laying in bed at night you will fall asleep to the sound of what we could only guess were the water pipes. Making knocking noises that become a bit of a nuisance.

So overall the purpose of our stay was a success, we went to Disney, had a nice comfortable home to stay in with cozy beds and nice towels and linens. We had an amazing pool and backyard and enjoyed our stay. We just believe the home should have some things fixed or be better advertised, especially for the price.
