Why Myra Klockenbrink chose High Falls

I come from Colorado and grew up with scenic beauty that's hard to surpass. But this area of upstate New York is so lovely and welcoming. We love this property because it is personal, private and peaceful. And yet we are close to all the amenities: farm stands, library, post office, a rec center with pool. Plus art and performance are readily available. Sky Lake Lodge is within walking distance.

The people are friendly – It's an involved community that has a long history of conserving the land and protecting the environment. It also nurtures artists providing venues and events for their work.

And the surroundings are spectacular with every season.

What makes this cottage unique

We like living simple and spare and so keep the place uncluttered and clean. It adds to the peace of the place. Just walking in the door is relaxing. And the view really takes you out of yourself. You can read or get drawn into the landscape - so many birds!

Perfect getaway from NYC!

  • 5 of 5

The house was very centrally located to great hiking & various local towns. Loved getting some quiet time out of the city to relax and enjoy various outdoor activities. Kitchen was well equipped, and we enjoyed cooking at the house during our stay

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for coming! Fall is a great time to come up and enjoy the outdoors and then in the evening relax in the quiet and take in the stars. Hope you can come again! All the best, Myra

Amazing time in High Falls

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking to get away, this a great house to rent and Myra is a great person to rent from. Waking up every morning with a view of the mountains was spectacular. There was plenty to do in the area and was perfect for getting away from city life (swimming by the falls, hiking, going through the small towns in the area, Woodstock animal sanctuary sitting on some beautiful land). High falls has great places to eat and things to see. The house was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Great house, had a great time.

Lovely home, lovely view

  • 5 of 5

I rented this for my elder mom since I knew the bathroom and bedroom and front door were all on the same floor. We had the additional bonus of a lovely view and a beautiful, tasteful, cozy home for her to stay in as well.

Beautiful escape to the country

  • 5 of 5

The view (exactly how the photo shows it), the quiet, the very charming house -- wish I could have stayed longer. I hope to go back sometime for a longer stay.

Gorgeous Back Yard View

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the stay. Foliage was absolutely brilliant! The visit was the perfect time of the year! We took the recommended hike behind the house and that is worth the trip. Everything was as advertised, from locking the back French doors to the hot water heater. Once you get the address Google will take you to the front door.

We didn't use any of the kitchen and ate mainly in New Paltz...there is plenty to choose from there.

if you use this house as we did to go to West Point it is a little over an hour drive one way.
