About Terry & Cindy

Terry and Cindy are from Tempe, Arizona. We built our vacation home in 2001 after spending a lot of time vacationing in the area. Skiing at Purgatory was an annual trip for us. Since this was built as a vacation home for us, our kids and grand kids, we have tried to make it as homey as possible. We enjoy cooking, so the kitchen is well equipped.

Today we are both retired and are able to spend more time in Colorado. We still like to take other vacations and travel back and forth between Arizona and Colorado all year, so have chosen to continue to rent out our home when we are unable to be there.

Terry & Cindy purchased this house in 2001

What makes this house unique

Sitting on the deck just can't be beat. We are typically up early to watch the sunrise while drinking our morning coffee. In the evenings, we watch the hummingbirds at the feeders and watch the deer come and go in the yard. The East facing deck provides plenty of privacy. We call the fire pit our "Mountain TV" as we can sit and watch the fire for hours!

Excellent Christmas Vacation Home!!!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was more beautiful in person than the pictures can portray! I am a native of the area and have stayed many places in surrounding towns but this by far was my favorite place. We opened the door and were greeted with a beautiful Christmas tree and beautiful Christmas decorations throughout the home. This is only the second vacation home in the 20 years I have been traveling back home that has taken the time to put up Christmas decorations.

The cabin is beautifully decorated, clean and so welcoming. The owners have taken great pride in this home. The cabinets are fully stocked with anything that you could possibly need. I forgot to buy pancake mix at the local grocery store and was able to whip up battered pancakes and homemade syrup with items they had stocked in the cabinet.

Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable! We will be back! Hopefully next time we will have a white Christmas!

Owner's Response: So glad you all had a nice stay. We appreciate the feedback and were more than happy to put up the Christmas decorations for you! I wish I could take better pictures . . . this is a common refrain from our reviewers. That the pictures do not do our home justice. We look forward t having you back for your next family reunion. Thank you again.

This was the perfect property at the perfect location for our road to SW Colorado & Mesa Verde.

  • 5 of 5

The property was a beautiful mountain

'cabin' with floor to ceiling picture windows,

wrap around deck with chairs & tables

BBQ, fire pit & ample wood from morning &

evening fires. The grounds were spacious with no other homes in sight. It was very quiet & peaceful with deer visiting each day. In the

clear mountain air saw the Milky Way at night.

The home is all we could want. Beautiful high

ceilings, knotty pine woodwork, spacious nicely furnished living area, comfortable beds & bedrooms & kitchen supplied with absolutely everything we needed. In addition the owners Terry & Cindy responded to our questions within minutes.

In many years of traveling I have never stayed at a better property.

Excellent vacation rental!!

  • 5 of 5

The house is fabulous- spacious and comfortable. The owners have taken great care in every detail to make your stay comfortable and to make you feel welcome. Well stocked kitchen including cooking supplies, coffee and tea, filtered drinking water. Direct tv and an abundance of movies and PlayStation games for cozy nights. Best of all - the location is FANTASTIC! Right next to a state park, less than a mile to San Juan National forest, 6 miles to Mesa Verde... sooo many things to do in the area, this house is perfectly situated within easy reach BUT it feels completely out of the way. It's perfect!!

Owner's Response: Jessica, So glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay and found everything you needed at the house. Also, glad that you took the time to explore what is so close to our house! One of the things that we hear very often from guests is that they wish they would have stayed an extra day or two to stay close and explore the lake and the National Forest hiking trails. Thank you again.
