We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this home for 6 days while visiting family in SB. It was clean and well furnished throughout with excellent beds, linens, furniture, kitchen supplies, washer/drier, and updated bathrooms. I liked the layout with the master bedroom on one side. It was cool while we were there so we didn't use the deck and yard which were lovely. The street was very quiet and we enjoyed the easy walk to Shoreline Park, and the beach walk to downtown at low tide. The agent responded promptly to several questions and we received our security deposit back promptly - seamless arrangements and communication. I would highly recommend this property, just wished there weren't currently a 30 day minimum which makes it harder for working people.

Ideal Located and QUIET!

My husband, goldendoodle and I have been spending a week in October in the Santa Barbara area for many years. This property definitely has moved to the top of our list (higher than the Four Seasons Biltmore which is next to the train track). The location is absolutely perfect--minutes to Shoreline Park, Lazy Acres Market, 101 and downtown (and away from the noisy train which passes through the heart of Santa Barbara ) . If we were buying a home in Santa Barbara, it would definitely be in The Mesa). The street is curvy and narrow, not conducive to traffic and there are no sidewalks. In fact, we rarely saw a car or pedestrians. We never heard neighbors or any noises during our 8 nights. I am the world's lightest sleeper and was never disturbed at night. The house is well maintained inside and out. The furnishings are very adequate with a very large leather sofa with ottoman, positioned in front of the big flat screen tv. The memory foam bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. The house is equipped with ceiling fans in all of the rooms which move the inside air nicely. Unfortunately during our stay, we had two days with highs of 93 and 94 and house was uncomfortably hot in the late afternoon/evening. We would have appreciated exhaust fans to bring in some cooler air. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots, pans, utensils and basic cooking supplies. We were thankful that this owner allowed us to bring our dog. As she eats all sorts of unusual plant material, we walked her on a leash in the backyard, fearful she could ingest the flowers or leaves of the deadly white oleander or even more toxic angel's trumpet flower. Our deposit was returned quickly. Jill does a very efficient job of managing this property. We are so disappointed we cannot rent for a week next year due to the 30 day minimum rental ordinance.

perfect Location

We (myself, wife and Yellow Lab) just spent a week here and absolutely loved it! really great house and perfect location. We could ride our bikes or take Uber easily to downtown for Restaurants or shopping.

The inside of house is nicely furnished with a great layout and great kitchen, there was coffee, spices, oil and plastic wrap, laundry detergent and other conviences that many other VRBO's don't provide and that makes it a lot easier to shop for food without worrying about little things. Our Yellow Lab just loved the beach( right down the street) Shoreline park (a short walk from house) and then we all enjoyed the super private back yard. The house is really well mantianed and Jill was great to deal with and we got our deposit back fast . We have rented quite a few houses in Santa Barbara and this was our favorite, we are already trying to figure out a fall trip here. Thanks for a making our trip to Santa Barbara so memorable!

This Mesa Gem Has Become Our "Home Away From Home"

This is the third winter that we have rented this house, so it should come as no surprise that we really like it. We stay for about 8 weeks each January-February.

Having rented in a number of places in Santa Barbara, this is really the best location in the city. The house is a block and a half from the ocean, yet on a very quiet, lightly traveled street. We live in a very rural area normally, and this house is even quieter than that. As well, while it was built a number of years ago, it is very solid and sound insulated.

It is less than 10 minutes by car to downtown, and you can also walk to Stearns Wharf and the downtown area in about 30 minutes.

While a rental house primarily, it is cared for and updated as though it is owner occupied. Every year there are upgrades that while not necessary are most appreciated. This year we noticed all new furniture in the living room, and really enjoyed it.

There are two televisions that are excellent, and the wi-fi internet access is very high speed, and this is not typical of most rentals.

For the first time we did not have our dog with us, but the back yard is fully fenced and perfect for your canine companion.

The property manager is always available for inquiries about the house (rarely needed) or about the town itself (I needed a dentist while there).

We have already booked for winter of 2017.

Exceeded expectations - overall a satisfying stay

This house is very well appointed, and well set up with quality furnishings, appliances, linens, and other supplies. The owner and manager truly care that you have a top notch experience when you stay in this home, and it shows.

Jill is a wonderful and very responsive and reasonable manager - my wife wrote some follow up detail questions to her the day before we left to figure if we needed to pack a few additional things and received a quick response.

The house is very well taken care of - although pets are allowed, it is kept immaculate, and our furry fellow was well behaved and enjoyed the space. Kitchen is beautiful with great amenities including a wine cooler. Spectacular bathrooms, plenty of good linens, and bath supplies. Beds are exceptional but they are high. Keep that in mind if you want to bring kids or elderly as that might not suit them well.

Speaking of height, also n.b. that the ceiling fans can seem a bit low. I know this sounds nitpicky but, if you're a tall person and the fans are running, just watch out before you stick your arms up.

The yards are immaculate, and great quality patio furniture and we loved the outdoor shower before coming in from the beach - a great way to keep sand out of the house.

Location is great. This is a quiet residential neighborhood with a nice mix of older and newer homes - this one is clearly newer. Short walk to the beach, dog park, downhill to the larger beach, and a 5 minute drive to downtown. What more could we ask?

Local recommendation: Breakfast at Hendry's Boathouse (5 minutes away down cliff drive, away from DT) is a great place to start your morning.

Perfect getaway in the Mesa!

This house is situated in (we think) the best neighborhood of SB - which is not only quiet but conveniently located to Shoreline Park and within walking distance to downtown. Also - easy beach access directly at the end of the street! Extremely clean, comfortable indoor accommodations with a large deck & beautifully landscaped, private backyard make for a wonderful stay. All communication with the house manager was easy and extremely timely. All around very positive experience and would definitely go back! Oh…and our dog loved it, too!
