About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 12-16

Beautifully restored turn of the century beach "cottage" located on an acre of landscaped property with pool and magnificent views of the Chesapeake Bay bridge, as well as, the ever present sailing regattas taking place just beyond the front yard.

Take a leisurely stroll along our community beaches or seek the shade of our trails through the woods. Ride a bike or take a run along our quiet, shaded roads with continuing views of the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay. Splash about in the cool waters of the pool, then relax on the deck to enjoy vistas of the Chesapeake Bay.

This magnificent home includes a master bedroom suite with 180 degree views, king size bed, private dressing room with two sinks and private bath with tub & shower. The other bedrooms feature 3 queen size beds, a king/2 twin conversion and two singles.

Addionally, the Guest Cottage is available to rent for extra sleeping/living space with a King and two Twins.

Large spaces inside for gathering, yet many for hiding away, as well. A gourmet kitchen with comfy seating for both lounging and entertaining overlooks back and side yard with the pool. Dining options inside and out for your large family.

Outdoors is where you will spend most of your time...the incredible front porch, poolside, or snuggled on a hidden bench with a book...

Just 5 miles, by car, to all that Historic Downtown Annapolis has to offer , 1 mile if you swim to City Dock! Restaurants, shopping and entertainment are just minutes away.

Only 25 miles to both Baltimore Inner Harbor and the Mall in Washington DC.

Our neighborhood is family friendly, uncrowded, physically active and serene.

Kids of all ages can coast on bicycles, skateboards and scooters. Walk, run or bike the beautiful waterside of this community.

Ask your hostess, Christine, about renting Kayaks, Paddle Boards and bikes to explore the waterfront and Lake Ogleton.

Parking for 6-8 cars in the driveway. Uber and Taxis readily available.

1. The video link of the interior is a bit outdated with furnishings and the contact # at the end but we are keeping it up to give you an idea of the flow until we can replace it with one more current.

2. The Guest Cottage is available to rent for an additional fee.

3. Weddings and large events cannot be accommodated due to community guidelines and parking restrictions.

We are so looking forward to meeting you and your family!

About Christine

When we first left in 2001 we rented our home on yearly basis. However, our children later confided that the only thing that made them unhappy about being full time cruisers was not being able to stay in our home when we visited Bay Ridge. That is when we decided to explore renting our home on a weekly basis. So far it has worked beautifully. We have been able to share our home with others, pay for some of the overhead and enjoy staying in our home and lovely community when visiting Annapolis.

Christine purchased this house in 1993

Why Christine chose Annapolis

Shortly after 9/11 we decided to take time with our family and go on a sailing adventure with our two children, ages 2 and 5 years. Our original plan was to sail for two years and then return to our home in Annapolis. The two year plan has since been extended to the present and will continue until our thirteen year old enters high school in the fall of 2010. We have had the wonderful opportunity to sail through the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Mediterranean Seas. Our ambition is to go through the Panama Canal and across the Pacific this next spring.

Ideal end of summer getaway

  • 5 of 5

118 River Rd. is simply terrific. It's located perfectly in an idyllic community about a 10 minute drive outside of downtown Annapolis. The home is pristine in a lived-in kind of way. There is nothing sterile or "rental" about it. Walking in, one feels as though the homeowners have perhaps just stepped-out. The house is welcoming and warm. The in-ground swimming pool is plenty long for exercise, and deep enough for diving and hours of fun for all. The hot tub is added benefit-it get's pretty hot. The neighborhood is ideal for walking, jogging, bicycling-all passersby are friendly and unobtrusive. We would without hesitation consider another week, or two, at 118 in the future. Thank you Christine and Katie!!

Best Ever

  • 5 of 5

Our three-generation brood of 16 enjoyed this home on River Drive, Annapolis, for nine delightful days in July 2016. We have over 10 years’ annual experience in large VRBO homes, from three in our home state of California, to Hawaii, Maui, Kauai, and Outer Banks, to name several locales. The informal vote was River Drive was the best of all, and there was some stiff competition. The size of the group could be a factor. Two teen girls slept in the Sun Room, one granddaughter slept on a couch downstairs, and a grandson on an air mattress. Not one complaint from those grandkids. The pool is a rarity in that part of the world, and was a god send. The spacious kitchen was the general meeting area and it was the best equipped kitchen we have ever experienced. The water view is mesmerizing, the only downside is a mid-day nap can easily overtake one while enjoying that view. Washington, D.C., is an easy jaunt (one hour even during rush traffic). We had access to a jet ski and rented a power boat one afternoon, so water activities were common, followed by pool time, and board games in the big kitchen area after dinner. Tellingly, the big screen TV was turned on for only two hours to watch a particular program in the entire nine days. The neighborhood is charming, quiet, and highly walk-able. The athletes in the family went for longer runs. Lastly, the property manager was the most cooperative and helpful we have ever dealt with – simply superb. We highly recommend this home.

Amazing Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 13 just returned from a wonderful week at this gorgeous home. The house is outstanding with a well-equipped large eat-in kitchen, a formal dining area, a comfortable sitting room overlooking the water, and a spacious and bright family room. In addition, there is a large in ground swimming pool that we enjoyed immensely. The view from the front deck is absolutely amazing! Excellent attention from the management. Would definitely return.

Incredible Family reunion over 4th of July

  • 5 of 5

From the fist call where I spoke with AHA Rentals regarding several properties I had requested information for, Christine, asked questions and suggested this home for our Family reunion. She said I would love it and I did. This is a beautiful waterfront home! I never wanted to leave. $th of July fireworks were literally down the street, and the whole community came out for the annual 4th parade, people were kind and friendly and introduced us around. This community is wonderful, and the house superb!

A stellar vacation home

  • 5 of 5

Spent one wonderful week in this very spacious, well appointed and bright home that boasted an expansive view of Chesapeake Bay. It easily contained 5 grandparents, 4 parents, and 5 young grandchildren in grand style, with a swimming pool and hot tub to keep the kids occupied and plenty of room so everyone had his own space. The grounds were very well kept and there was an enormous kitchen with plenty of utensils, refrigeration and storage. The deck provided a great view of the bay furnished with plenty of al fresco dining and seating accommodations. You will be happy you stayed here.
