September Haus sits on the hillside overlooking the stunning rugged coast and Pacific Ocean. Locals think we have the best weather here with our unique hillside micro-climate away from bluff-born winds and above the fog in the meadows. We have seen wildlife: deer, wild turkeys, foxes, rabbits, marveled at the hawks soaring overhead and the whales spouting during their migrating season. September Haus invites you to relax, meditate and reflect. Some guests come to write; others are inspired to paint the White Barn, a Sea Ranch landmark. Yet if you wish to be active, you may enjoy the many hiking trails to the bluff or into the forest starting from September Haus. Or you may walk on the beaches and explore the tide pools. Check out the many other activities listed below.
Activities (on site or nearby): Hike, bike, ride a horse, play tennis or golf the resort links; take a sauna and swim in one of the three heated pools (the Ohlson Rec center - is just a five minute walk from September Haus). Play basketball, volleyball; enjoy group yoga, go horseback riding, fishing, shelling, or wine tasting. There is a golf course and a landing strip. In Gualala, seven miles to the north, you will find grocery stores and many boutiques.

As we entered, my wife saw a wild turkey. It was an omen. We have had beautiful weather and have enjoyed exploring the area. Your house offers a perfect framing for our impressions on our first trip here. We would enjoy another stay. Thank you for making your home available.
PS. We so enjoyed the view from your LR windows. It is beyond price!
This is a peaceful spot at the top of a hill-overlooking the meadows and ocean views. Many other places at Sea Ranch are at the beach, but due to the ridge line, they do not actually have a view of the ocean. Not true here! We sat on comfy chairs right by the meadow, and also on the upstairs
balcony. All beautiful.
The property is immaculate and everything you need for cooking, including the barbecue outdoors.
The owner is easy to work with, and helpful with providing information and answering any questions.
We enjoyed a couple of meals at the Sea Ranch Lodge, which is one of the best venues around the area.
We would definitely stay here again!
My best friend, son and I stayed at September Haus for a week this month and loved this property. It's perfectly situated above Hwy. 1 and has an amazing view that we could not get enough of. Kathleen was so helpful, flexible and welcoming to us. The property has a meadow next to it that allows for a wonderful feeling of privacy. At the same time there are lots of interesting goings on there. When we arrived, there was a flock of sheep grazing in the meadow. The neighbors bring their dogs there to play and let loose a couple of times a day, very entertaining. Another day there were wild turkeys roaming the meadow. Whales can be seen breaching from the living area. Nature is close.
The kitchen is very well equipped and the bedrooms and baths also beautifully decorated and even luxurious. I highly recommend a stay at September Haus!
We stayed at September Haus last week for four nights, and it was perfect. Kathleen was wonderful to us. After we booked we had a family emergency and thought we might not be able to go, and Kathleen worked with us, was flexible and kind as we sorted out the issues and figured out how to still get our vacation. Thank you!
Once we arrived, we settled in well. One of my daughters went crazy over the daybed upstairs and turned it into her 'nest'; we all were amazed at the sweeping view of the coast and meadows below the house, and the kitchen was set up so that we could prepare every meal at the house - all we needed to cook was provided. We also enjoyed the fact that the house sits just in front of a redwood forest. Go outside, take a few steps and you go from wide open coastal views to redwoods. We hiked all over the trails behind the house, made our way to the beach (10 minute walk) and never had to use our car!
This has been the best experience we have had when visiting Sea Ranch and we plan to make September Haus our choice, hands down, for future visits.
Just got back from a thoroughly enjoyable Fourth of July get away at September Haus. The home was beautifully kept, well supplied, and super clean! We were able to relax right away. I particularly appreciated the amazing view, well stocked kitchen, and peace and quiet. Everything was top notch and thus the five star rating. The only suggestion I have which would have improved my experience would be to have had access to a wider variety of cable television channels. The channels were very limited and we would have liked to have been able to see CNN, for example. There were lots of children's stations and religious shows but not too many options that we would use. That being said..the most worthwhile show was the beauty of Sea Ranch nature unfolding right before our eyes from the comfortable living room. Also great hiking right from your door. We will be back...Thank you!
Overall, our experience at September Haus was wonderful. My husband and I shared the house two friends. There are ALOT of rules and instructions to be followed. One of our friends was overly concerned about doing things "right" to ensure we get our securtiy deposit back. This interfered with our ability to relax and enjoy this lovely space. We all found the "rules" and signs around the house a bit daunting at first glance and some of rules are also a bit condescending to anyone with commom sense. We wondered what we could expect in terms of normal housekeeping. We completed and reviewed all the rules on the list before we left and we didn't have to wait too long to find out if we did "okay" though because Sea Ranch prompty returned our security deposit within several days. We will certainly return to Sea Ranch for another visit to this unique property and view of the ocean.
