About Jeremy Chamberlain

We are thrilled to own this home Jeremy himself lived in as a small child. His father also grew up in the home, one of eight children of Cornell and Sylvia Chamberlain. It has been a journey to renovate the home, a fond process of discovery. It is indeed a special place to call home. This 'Homeplace' has brought over-flowing joy to so many that we love! We are delighted to share that joy with you.

Comfortable and fun vacation

We had a great time staying at this quiet and beautiful place! Kids love the little pond and canoes are available. The location is perfect for visiting nearby national parks, even a day trip to antelope canyon. Definitely will stay here again if we visit the area.

Snowy and cozy

Things we loved: We liked the charm of the old house, slanted floors and all. It had the feel of an historic family home. Great proximity to Bryce and Zions. Not right in the park but close enough to enjoy all the beauty there. We did a tour at the animal sanctuary in Kanab which was close by as well. The owners were responsive to our needs when the power was out for about 6 hours. They brought over a lantern for light and wood for the fireplace so we could stay warm. It was big enough to accommodate 6 adults comfortably. They plowed the driveway so we could get in and out. Wifi worked great. Kitchen has plenty of dishes and pots. Owners were very friendly and personable.

Things we didn't love: Because of the heavy snow, we couldn't do anything at the property. It would be better in summer if you want to do enjoy the lake or outdoor things. The property is right off the main road and very close to another home which the pictures don't show. There was no dishwasher. There is only comfortable seating for 4 people in the living room. The power went out twice which was not the owners fault but made cooking impossible on an electric stove. Cell phones only worked on wifi calling which was disabled during the power outages. Most businesses are closed during the winter in the nearby towns except the grocery store. No place to rent atv's in the area in winter. We did end up driving 90 minutes to Hurricane and had rented machines there. Highly recommend Southern Utah Adventure Center for Razor and atv rental. We spent a whole day at Sand Hollow State Park which was the highlight of the trip. So fun. There was not enough hot water for 6 people to take very short showers.

All in all we had a nice stay at the Homeplace.

Owner's Response: It was certainly a white Christmas, wasn't it? Seems to be with heavy snow, a temporary power outage is probable here in rural Utah. I sincerely apologize for the power outage diminishing the comforts of home; hot water, wifi, etc. Come back in the summer if you're looking to enjoy the pond and spacious yard, many more businesses, etc. However, if you like sledding and snow, you've found the right winter adventure spot!

Peaceful and Quiet, yet accessible to the parks

Our group of 7 (5 adults, a teenager, and a three-year old) enjoyed the peace and tranquility of The Homeplace. Most mornings we enjoyed a quiet breakfast followed by a half-hour drive to one of the surrounding parks. We went hiking in Zion, climbing and rolling in the sand at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, and one morning just canoeing on the pond. After lunch we read, watched videos, napped, and one day went canyoneering in a slot canyon just outside Orderville.

The Homeplace was clean and well stocked. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to unwind. Thank you for a great experience.

Weekend with family

We really enjoyed our stay at the Homestead. The home has a lot of personality that made if fun for the entire family. We were close to Zion's National Park and other attractions in the area. It was great for us to get away and enjoy nature.

Wonderful October Stay

Betty's place was completely as advertised. A restored 100+ year old home with all the accompanying 'charm'. It worked well for us four adults and still had room. It was extremely convenient to the Parks and was great to return to at the end of the day for relaxation. Very much appreciated.

Lovely place for a vacation getaway in a rustic setting

We stayed 2 nights and we absolutely loved this home. It was cozy and historic and it transported us back in time. We're city dwellers and this home was perfect for unwinding ourselves. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were nice with lots of pillows and comforters. The living room was lovely and was perfect for relaxing.

But the best part of this property was the outside with a furnished porch and the idyllic setting itself.

We met the owner and she came across as a kind and warm person. She made sure we enjoyed our stay.

A few minor nitpicks:

1) We didn't have hot water on day 2 of our stay in any of the bathrooms. We somehow managed without it.

2) The stair case lights did not work and we had to use our smart phones to go upstairs and turn on bedroom lights.

3) The bath rooms did not have a towel drying rack and a fan.
