During the December to March months you are sure to spot the Humpback whales that migrate 3000 miles from Alaska to the warm Maui waters, known to be the nation's primary mating and birthing grounds for this amazing mammal. Watch them jump and spout right from your lanai, or close your eyes and listen to their songs as you snorkel under the water. Just be careful not to run into a turtle! (It's happened ;)
And don't forget your golf clubs, because there are 5 world-class golf courses are just minutes away in Wailea and Makena.
The Mana Kai Maui Resort is located at the extreme south end of Kihei, bordering Wailea. This is a one of a kind property to be found at no other location in all of Maui. In addition, the Mana Kai continues to make improvements, keeping it a true first class resort.

Aloha! My name is Yasmine and my parents own 4 Mana Kai condos that I help rent and manage for them. I live in Washington State where my husband is in law enforcement and we have a few acres for our horses, chickens, and 3 boys to run wild. We've been married 15 years and love to travel, but it's getting harder now with the demands of school, sports, and music lessons. We still try to get to Maui at least twice a year though, with or without the kids!
Yasmine purchased this Condo in 2008
Why Yasmine chose Kihei
My parents discovered the Mana Kai when I was young--probably about 7 or 8 years old--and then we became annual visitors, spending every spring break there until I graduated from High School. Then about 6 years ago, on an anniversary trip, my parents decided to invest in the resort that brought us so many happy memories. My siblings and I would spend hours on this beach, boogie boarding, body surfing, and playing in the sand. My Dad says there is a sort of 'magic' about this spot. We explored the rest of Maui and the other Hawaiian islands, but always kept coming back here. The combination of the angle of the building, the height of the building, sunny weather, and the family friendly beach makes it a unique spot on Maui. Also, the Mana Kai has become a fabulous resort with wonderful upgrades and amenities.
What makes this Condo unique
You just can't beat the view, everytime we come it takes our breath away. We also love hearing the crash of the ocean waves, and often sleep with only the screen door shut so we can fall asleep to it. Jason likes to get up early, and every morning I would wake to see him on the lanai, sipping guava juice and watching the ocean. As a kid, I remember arriving at the Mana Kai and rushing through the lobby and onto the beach before my parents even had the luggage out of the car. Sometimes renters ask me, 'how far do we have to walk to the beach?', and I'm always so glad to answer that question: 'Just through the lobby, past the pool, and you're THERE!'

Beautiful beach, convenient location, nice pool
Amazing Condo In A Wonderful Setting
Stayed here for six nights and wish it had been longer. The apartment was nicely furnished and had everything we needed for our stay, just as described online. The view was amazing from morning through the evening. The beach in front of the property provided ample fish for our snorkeling delight and, as an added bonus, a few large turtles that provided us with our first experience of swimming with them for several minutes. Oh, yes, having the on-site restaurant (great bar eats and drinks at happy hour!) and the deli/store provided us with most of our eating needs, together with a trip to a nearby local grocery store. We hope to come back next year.
Great for a Couple or Family Only
This upgraded condo with a fabulous view is perfect for two people or family and deserves a 5-star rating for that alone and the great customer service of owner, Yasmine. However, if you are planning to stay with another couple (as I thought it was 2 private bedrooms - maybe I should have checked it out more carefully), it’s not conducive to privacy. Upon entering the front door, there is a bedroom to left - odd that it has a digital lock outside the door which is a pain to keep that number on hand at all times if you shut the door and could be dangerous if kids are in there and a parent needs to get in quickly. There is an individual AC unit in that room which you can feel the cold air blow on you even on low. There are 3 panels of louvre windows on each side of a large stationary window but are useless because the drapes cover both sides and cannot be moved to allow air to flow into the room if you want the AC off. We noticed other units in the bldg. have shutters or blinds to allow natural air circulation.
When entering the main living area, the view is spectacular, kitchen upgraded with all the bells and whistles, a couch, table and TV and then you see a king size bed. We thought weird – where was the door? This is more of a suite with one bedroom than 2 full private bedrooms. There are 3 sliding doors with Japanese soji type panels that pull to separate the bed from the living area – you can see light through them. They do not close tight to the wall with the sliding glass door to the balcony – there is about a 6” gap so noise is a factor. Once closed the living space is very small. To give our friends privacy in the morning or late evening we felt banned to our bedroom and could not enjoy the balcony for the gap in doors to the wall or that a light and sound in the living room reflects through the sliding doors. There is a single AC unit in the kitchen area. Once the sliding doors to the 'bedroom' are closed, no AC can reach that area – only a ceiling fan is in there for air and it was hot and humid. On a side note - directions on how to use the TV remotes would have been helpful. There are too many to figure out. We would stay here again if just the two of us with no need to block off the sleeping area from the living area.
Great week at the Mana Kai #304.
We had a wonderful week at the Mana Kai! The condo was beautiful, up to date, and also well equipped. From the moment we made our reservation through the time that we checked out, the owner was accommodating to our requests and easy to communicate with. We look forward to renting this condo again!
Always a pleasure to stay at the Mana Kai. One of our favorite spots on the Island.
The condo worked out very well and was well equipped and just as described. The view is wonderful and there is good snorkeling right in front of the condo complex. Yasmine was really great to work with. I would highly recommend the condo and will plan on staying here again in the future.
Located directly on Keawakapu beach-- a fantastic family friendly sandy beach that is not crazy crowded. It is great for boogie boarding, snorkeling, and whale watching. We are on the southern and sunny side of the island where the dolphins and turtles like to hang out. Plus the whale watching is fantastic Dec-March.
