About Yasmine

Hi! My name is Yasmine and my parents own 3 Mana Kai condos that I help rent and manage for them. I live in Washington State where my husband is a Police Officer, but my parents and the business office are located in central California where I grew up. My husband Jason and I met at at college in Utah, and then we moved to Washington which is where he grew up as a farm boy. We've been married 13 years and have three small boys who love to travel as much as we do, but it's getting harder now that they are in school. We still make it to Maui at least twice a year, with or without the kids!

Yasmine purchased this condo in 2008

Why Yasmine chose South Maui

My parents discovered the Mana Kai when I was young--probably about 7 or 8 years old--and then we became annual visitors, spending every spring break there until I graduated from High School. Then a few years ago, on an anniversary trip, my parents decided to invest in the resort that brought us so many happy memories. My siblings and I would spend hours on this beach, boogie boarding, body surfing, and playing in the sand. My Dad says there is a sort of 'magic' about this spot. We explored the rest of Maui and the other Hawaiian islands, but always kept coming back here. The combination of the angle of the building, the height of the building, sunny weather, and the family friendly beach makes it a unique spot on Maui. Also, the Mana Kai has become a fabulous resort with wonderful upgrades and amenities.

What makes this condo unique

You just can't beat the view, everytime we come it takes our breath away. We also love hearing the crash of the ocean waves, and often sleep with only the screen door shut so we can fall asleep to it. Jason likes to get up early, and every morning I would wake to see him on the lanai, sipping guava juice and watching the ocean. I love that. As a kid, I remember arriving at the Mana Kai and rushing through the lobby and onto the beach before my parents even had the luggage out of the car. Sometimes renters ask me, 'how far do we have to walk to the beach?', and I'm always so glad to answer that question: 'Just through the lobby, past the pool, and you're THERE!'

Amazing property, amenities... this is the life

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for a work trip and got a nice piece of the Maui life. Beautiful, secluded beach that wasn't crowded, great restaurant/bar/pool downstairs, amazing morning views to wake up to, close to great snorkeling spots further south and a central location to get anywhere else on the island. Can't wait to go back and stay here again! The place itself was nicely updated and comfortable for our needs.

I would add that we went all over the island, and this was our favorite area. Ka'anapali is too resort-y with hotels and beaches packed with tourists and giant Vegas-style amenities. Lahaina was a cool part of Maui and fun to walk around and shop/eat. But Kihei had the best mix of everything and makes it easy to go any direction (Haleakala Volcano, Hana, Lahaina, Paia, south past Wailea, anywhere!)

Great location, great view, lovely super-clean condo.

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a beachfront rental away from the overpriced resort hotels of Wailea and Kanapali, and Mana Kai proved to be the perfect solution. This unit was perhaps a little pricier than some of the others we looked at online, but it was worth it because of the pristine condition of the unit. Also nice because they accepted shorter stays, if that's what you're looking for. The unit is not large, but it is spotlessly clean and very new with a panoramic view from the lanai and ample room for two couples or a family of four. The facility is nice, with water sports rentals, a well-stocked convenience store and dining on site, and the staff were pleasant and very helpful. The location is convenient to the beaches at Wailea or Makena, as well to the funky shops and restaurants on the south end of Kihei. Kihei/Wailea is also centrally located for the many other attractions of Maui--like Hana, Haleakala and Lahaina. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again next time we're in Maui.

Awesome condo

  • 5 of 5

Anytime you can exit the northwest in the winter is a plus, Maui is hard to beat. Great central location, incredible view, top #10 beaches in the world. Other than the 4:30 A.M. rooster calls it was delightful, On site restaurant is good, Sorrentos next door is even better. On site activities center is a plus. Enjoyed the salt water pool and grassy area before beach. Beach isn't private but is the best and safe for chirren. Decent snorkeling and turtle sightings. Would highly recommend. One note, make sure you arrive by 5pm, no one at front counter if you have a problem.

LOVE #812

  • 5 of 5

Just spent 10 days at the Mana Kai #812 and can't wait to go back again. This was our second stay in this unit and LOVE it. Views are fantastic. Location convenient. Unit has everything you need for a vacation. Owner is very easy to work with. Had a small plumbing issue during our stay and it was repaired very quickly without any inconvenience to us. Absolutely nothing better than lying in bed listening to the water and watching the whales breach!! The Mana Kai has a restaurant, General Store with deli, a rental company for beach/water items and a fantastic activities desk (ask for Tracey!!). If visiting in the winter, be prepared to be amazed by the whale watching - you won't be disappointed.

Great Condo, Great Location, would love to book again!

  • 5 of 5

This condo was great cause it was clean and new, it was on the 8th floor so we had optimum view, any lower is covered by palm trees...The location is optimal cause it was walk to shopping and walk to the resorts just up the beach. The amenities are excellent with a restaurant and store downstairs and tour guide in the lobby. It was a little smaller than we thot it would be, a little tight for 2 couples, but perfect for a family that knows each other and doesnt mind the close space!

Best Maui Retreat

  • 5 of 5

The condo was in an excellant location, beach front, salt water pool, best General Store on site, restaurant/bar, tourist booking kiosh and rental company for snorkels, fins, mask, kayaks, etc. We did not leave the property the first two days. Sat on the lanai watching the many whale sitings, eating and drinking Mai Tai's. Our many walks, each day, on the beach from Mana Kai to Wailea were breathtaking. Yoga excercise classes are also offered on site. Our next Maui trip will be in two years at Mana Kai 812. Thank you Yasmine and family, everything was PeRfEcT!
