Great Location and Space
We really enjoyed our stay on the upper east side. It was great with kids, close to a train station with elevator and Central Park. The apartment is roomer than it looks in the pictures, it was clean and well stocked with what we needed.
Felt like our "home" in NYC for our family of 4
This apartment was really wonderful for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 16-year olds). Super convenient to the Q and 6 trains, quiet, clean, and a very well stocked kitchen for our use. When you're traveling with family, it's so nice to not have to run to a cafe for breakfast every morning. Bread, butter, juice, coffee, and cereal were provided. There's a small dishwasher, toaster, stove, and microwave. We did a quick shop for some fruit and yogurts upon arrival, and our mornings were set! The beds were comfortable, towels were plentiful, and full-size toiletries were also provided and exactly the brands we use at home. The A/C wall units in every room worked well (it was a HOT week when we stayed).
The bathroom decor is outdated, but that is VERY typical in NYC apartments (I'm a NYC native who lived in an apartment 3 blocks away from this one in her 20s, and my bathroom looked identical to this). The bathroom is on the smaller size (also not unusual) but it gets the job done. My family of 4, including my 6'7" son, had no problems using it :)
As for technology, there's WiFi (very important for us!) and one TV in the living room (not important for us; we turned it on for 5 minutes; we use our phones for everything).
This is a quintessentially average apartment on the Upper East Side. The price is VERY fair for what you get and for the incredible location. We were overly pleased with our stay and cannot say enough good things about the host.
Breda, the host, is absolutely lovely to deal with. She clearly cares about your stay and wants you to be comfortable in her home. Her communication is outstanding (we had a quick question for her and she got back to us in record time). We cannot wait to visit again next summer. We have found our home away from home in NYC at last. Thank you for making my family's summer vacation wonderful, Breda!
Nice apartment and great location
First time in Yorkville area of NYC. Felt right at home as did the apartment. Functional layout. Close to restaurants and pubs (1 - 11/2 blocks). Quiet neighborhood and friendly neighbors. It was a wonderful experience!
Best accommodation in Upper East Manhattan
A nicely maintained spacious place to stay. Interactions with our host (Breda) and her assistant were great and most accommodating. Hoping this space is available on our next trip as had only a happy and positive experience during our stay.
Great price, the owners are VERY responsive, and flexible if your schedule changes and they can accommodate the change. Good location. The stairs are narrow, but once the elevator is working the luggage drag to the 3rd floor will not be an issue. Be aware the hotels in the City of New York were recently able to get a bill passed with laws trying to shut down the VRBO business. The "super" of the apartment complex was not pleasant, so be quiet and avoid him. We got a bunch of questions when we passed him.
Great location in Yorkville/Upper East Side!
Very good choice in Yorkville- newer Q line subway only a couple blocks away! Breda was an excellent host for us; the apartment was nicely stocked with all sorts of food & beverages when we arrived 🙂 Both beds were comfy & Wi Fi worked very well during our stay 👍Overall a pretty roomy place in the city which was great!
Between 1 Ave and York Ave, close to central park, one block from busy 86th Street, 4 blocks from all subway trains, buses one block away, 24 hour restaurants and Supermarket, Starbucks half a block away, less than a block from the famous Ryan's Daughter Bar...perfect location.
