A very special part of the world

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the back side of the season and it was wonderful. If I were building a home for myself and family I do not know anything I would change. Everything has been very thought out and all amenities are in place. Even the artfully arranged thumderstorms seemed special. Mostly the weather was perfect and having Susan next door was a real bonus for people unfamillar with the area. We plan to return next year, God willing and if the creek don't rise.

Amazing villa!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the villa during the last week of August with my parents and my husband's parents. Susan met us at the villa and showed us around. She was very attentive and helpful and it was great that she and her husband lived nearby as it meant that she could drop by when we needed something.

The villa was beautiful (better than the pictures on the website!), very clean and the kitchen had everything one would expect. Having air conditioning in each room was great as the weather was very hot. The pool was fantastic - very clean and we used it daily. The views across the mountains was spectacular - it was really special waking up to that view everyday.

The villa is well located - situated on the edge of Roussillon - a small mountain village. We walked into the village most days (5-8 mins - though bear in mind it's uphill), either to get fresh bread, for coffee or in the evening for dinner.

We all had a very relaxing week and everyone loved the villa. It was so comfortable - it was like a home away from home. I'm sure we will be back soon!

Fabulous yet again

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay, and was as good, if not better than our previous rental. Susan was once again professional and exceedingly friendly. The house was spotless. The weather was flawless. The location is unbeatable. What else could one want?

By far the most beautiful home we have rented in France. The owner has been exceptionally friendly and helpful, the house is beautifully constructed and appointed, and the location and views are stunning. Most highly recommended!

Absolutely Stunning

  • 5 of 5

This property is exceptional in every way. The walk into the village is less than 10 minutes and Roussillon has several excellent restaurants, a wonderful bakery, well stocked butchers and a minimart. Opening hours vary so check with the owners. The views of the Luberon from the village are spectacular. The house has 3 good sized bedrooms with queen beds, each with its own en suite bathrooms of superior quality, one with a lovely balcony. The fourth bedroom has twin beds, garden doors onto a balcony and its own en suite. The views of the Liberon from the balconies the garden and the infinity pool (not heated) are magnificent. The pool has a bar area with fridge. The garden has a large patio area with a table seating 8 - 10 covered by a trellis with vines and wisteria. On the lower level is a boules court and necessary equipment. The main floor of the house is a spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen combo of great versatility and charm with higher end appliances and cabinets. The location will allow easy visits to the superb hill top villages in the area Gordes (nice walk of 1 and a half hours), Bonnieux, Lacoste, Saignon etc. The market of L'Isle sur la Sorgue on Sunday is worth a visit as is Gordes market on Tuesday (Roussillon on Thursday is quite small but still great local wine - Girod - and cheese). Fontaine de Vaucluse only half an hour by car and has exceptional beauty, ice cream and restaurants. We found time to go to Aix, Avignon, Cannes, Monte Carlo and Orange all of which are well worth a visit. The chateau around Chateauneuf du Pape all sell excellent local wine.

The house, its setting and its amenities and conveniences are far superior to the presentation on this website and as someone who has rented five properties on VRBO I can assure you this residence is of a very high standard.

We were 6 people, 3 couples in our fifties from Canada.

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay at La Jameela in Roussilon. We highly recommend this lovely spacious villa and suggest a 2 week stay to truly take advantage of this area of Provence. The owners were most helpful prior and during our trip. Pictures of La Jameela and its views do not fully represent its beauty! Roussilon is a quiet town and also a busy sightseeing location (famous ochre cliffs...a must see at sunset) and close to Apt for all your food/house needs. Roussilon is centrally situated between the Montagne du Luberon and the Mont de Vaucluse and is perfect for day trips to many important cities (Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Orange, Pont du Gard, Cotes-du-Rhone wine region, and Chateauneuf-du-Pape). Also do not pass up the many small villages perched on the sides of mountains, such as Gordes, Joucas, Bonnieux,Lacoste, Oppede-le-Vieux, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Viens, Saignon, and St-Saturnin-les-Apts.Take advantage of the local weekly markets in Roussilon, Gordes, Apt, and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Some local sightseeing locations/museums of interest are the Bories village, the informative museums of lavender, glass and olive oil. Selecting this villa will not disappoint!

PS. We found Rick Steve's travel book to be helpful and detailed. Also GPSs are a must, and if you are traveling in a group in separate cars we found Walkie Talkies or cell phones to be very helpful.
