*** Celebrating 26 Years in Business! ***

Welcome to the Golden Slipper, Boston's Original Bed & Breakfast Afloat!

If you are looking for an absolutely unique and romantic B&B experience to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, engagement, or wedding, the Golden Slipper awaits! It is an ideal romantic getaway for two, but also a fun adventure for four. Two private staterooms are offered with plenty of privacy for both couples, and room to relax on the yachts front and aft decks.

The Golden Slipper, Boston’s B&B “Afloat” is a traditional Catalina Chris Craft. The 40’ Yacht is located at Lewis Wharf, in the heart of historical Boston. The boat stays moored at the slip and you come and go as you please. This is a private party yacht accommodating up to six guests, with a continental breakfast left for you. Cruises of Boston Harbor and dinners are available upon request, during your stay.

The Golden Slipper offers the unique experience of having a Bed and Breakfast, with the opportunity to cruise Boston Harbor, for a day or sunset cruise. You return to your slip, the innkeepers leave, and you continue to enjoy your yacht for the rest of your visit.

In addition to the two private staterooms, the main salon accommodates 2 more people on a double berth sofa. This layout is perfect for a family vacation, reunion, or “girls' getaway”. The business traveler can enjoy a unique, comfortable setting, as well, and entertain clients with a sunset dinner cruise.

Guest comments from all over the world describe the Golden Slipper as a very positive experience, and a unique getaway in a very urban setting. Our guests love our fabulous location, within walking distance to many historic attractions. Escape to the boat for peaceful moments of relaxation on the aft deck, enjoying excellent views of the busy Boston Harbor. In the evening be rocked to sleep with a gentle motion, and wake up to coffee and muffins on the deck, greeting a new day in historical Boston Harbor.

We look forward to welcoming you on board!!

Cape Coders in Boston for playcation!

  • 5 of 5

Four friends stayed for two nights. We had seven hours of rain to snuggle into the boat. It was dry and cozy. We explored the city, stuffed ourselves in the North End and had a great time. Gretchen was helpful and welcoming. We couldn't have asked for more. We recommend this setup for a bit of a change from the ordinary and hope you choose the Golden Slipper! Thanks Gretchen!

Great way to experience Boston!

  • 5 of 5

Gretchen was delightful to work with on this experience. She shared about the water taxi from the airport right to the slip...what a way to see Boston for the first time. The Golden Slipper was located in an awesome place convenient to everything. Gretchen provided breakfast goodies and a few snacks (thoughtful). The Golden Goose market also is very convenient to obtain other supplies.

We did the Freedom Trail and Little Italy along with a great concert in the park. Sunsets and sunrises were fantastic with your favorite beverage.

I would highly recommend some time on the Golden Slipper!

Centrally located. Comfortable. Clean. Great Experience.

  • 5 of 5

We had never slept on a boat before. We have done RV trips and thought it would be about the same. This boat was roomy, comfortable and had all the amenities. Gretchen greeted us when we first got there. Went over the boat and how to operate things with us, and gave us some ideas of what to do in the area and where to shop. This was not our first time in Boston, but it was our first time staying by the water. Everything is very convenient to get to from the boat. The tours, sightseeing, museums, restaurants.so much of it within a walking distance. Access to the boat is super easy. We took a water taxi-grab the shuttle at the airport, it will take you to the water taxi. They will take you directly to the boat. It is literally a step on and step off. Call the water taxi to pick you up when you return. The water is very quiet and the boat barely moves. One of our favorite stays!

Great adventure

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay. It was a different way to stay in Boston, but we enjoyed it tremendously. Within walking distance of old down town Boston and all the sites. Enjoyed the back deck at night with a glass of wine. Since on a boat, there are some things that you have to do (toiletry items), but since we are boat people, we understand. Water taxi back and forth from the airport was easy. Will be back to visit Boston again and will stay here for sure.

Floating happiness

  • 4 of 5

Gretchen and Susan were both wonderful hostesses. They were communicative and available to answer any questions we had. I have never slept in a floating hotel room before, and it was an unforgettable experience!!! They provided so many little extras that made the trip comfortable and easy for us. I highly recommend staying at The Golden Slipper for a one of a kind experience!!
