Terrific cozy cottage perfect for our family of 4

  • 5 of 5

We chose this cottage based on its location to several of the attractions and towns we wanted to visit. We are from Virginia so we wanted to have a home base in Maine while we could explore but we also needed a place that supplied linens, towels, and a furnished kitchen. We wanted to be off of the beaten path not in a camp ground. This cottage offered privacy and plenty to do. Our children are (9 & 10) and enjoyed the use of the kayaks around the pond as did we. There were a great selection and amount of supplied life vests. They were able to explore in the water and the land (small beach and woods). The screened in porch was one of our favorite places - eating, reading, and game playing. Even when it rained, we sat outside not getting wet. We had brought a few of our favorite games from home but we found there were tons of games to choose from already at the cottage. The kitchen was small but totally usable. We would eat a later lunch out exploring then come home and eat a light dinner on the porch. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. The local grocery store was about 15 minutes away (if that) and there were several farm stands close by.

I would and have already recommended this cottage to friends and family. I hope to be able to go back again!

We Loved the cabin, the atmosphere, the loons, bald eagles, fishing, swimming, location and owners

  • 5 of 5

First would like to thank the owners who were more than accommodating and who quickly saw to any need. Roy and his family were always quick to respond and not at all obtrusive. They are a very sweet and caring family who certainly want to make sure you are enjoying your stay. Now about the stay, the cabin is rustic and very comfortable, located right on the water, and a few steps down to the dock. The lake is very clean and quiet, the fishing is great and the sounds of the loons and eagles are present most of the time. Did I also say that the cabin itself is very clean, not large and very comfortable bed in the master bedroom, a well supplied kitchen, and beautiful lake views. I don't know of a single thing more I could have asked for in a vacation cottage, my wife and I will surely return the Good Lord Willing.

Thanks to the Deines Family and God Bless You!!

Perfect place to unplug and relax!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay. The cabin was everything we needed (towels, charcoal grill, lobster pot). There was a tv although we never turned it on. The screened in porch was perfect at night. The property was private and quiet. The dock and small beach was perfect for swimming and kayaking. The owners were friendly but not intrusive at all. When you're there it feels like you're the only people on the pond. We sat and watched the loons and a bald eagle! Quick ride to town for gas, groceries, coffee, and Moodys Diner. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for low key, quiet, comfortable relaxation. We can't wait to go back!

Not bad

  • 3 of 5

The high points of this stay was the setting...wooded, lake frontal, quiet. The fishing was amazing each time I went out on the lake. The screened porch was also very nice especially early mornings and evenings. The downside was the shower unit...very small and they do need a new curtain as it was pretty torn. Would have been nice if when we arrived we were not greeted with so many webs and pine needles on porch. The furniture wasn't very comfortable but the bed was decent and did get a good night sleep. Overall the week was wonderful because of being on the lake, privacy, and a quick drive to beautiful places like Camden, lighthouses, coastal activities. If you don't mind limited conveniences this is the place.

Great vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

It has been quite a while since we stayed here but I thought it was time to write the review. My family actually rented this cottage twice a few years apart. We had the best time. The owners are very friendly but not intrusive. The cottage is meticulously clean and tastefully decorated. The supplies are fantastic and everything you could want or need can be found. The area has lots to see and do. We only traveled from Bath (20 mins.) for this stay-cation but felt like we were miles away from home. Loved the porch and screened in area. Spent lots of time reading, relaxing, boating and swimming. Now that we live in Alabama I am hoping to rent this cottage again sometime when I come back to the area to see my now grown children and grandchildren. This cottage is a must for a summer vacation! Thanks for the wonderful memories and hope there are more to come.

A return to spot, year after year!

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to this cabin for 20 years! It started as a family vacation with so many things to do in the area as well as at the cabin, but now has turned into a second honetmoon! You can fish, swim, row boat on the water. The cabin has a kitchen fully stocked with everything but the food, a charcoal grill and is immaculate!!! It sits on the edge of Medomack pond, so peaceful and serene. We love to sit on the screened in porch eating dinner and enjoying the gorgeous sunsets. Most of the time you can hear the loons on the water. So beautiful!!

We have vistied many of the neighboring towns like Damariscotta, Boothbay, Rockland, Camden, Wiscasset etc, and have enjoyed all they have to offer. There are great restaurants, festivals and local fairs just about every week in the summer. You must try some Round Top ice cream, it's the BEST! There is no better setting than this cabin in Waldoboro! It has so much to offer!
