Just Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second summer at the cottage and if we could give it a 10 we would! Everything from the location and weather was just perfect! The only time we were in the cottage was to sleep. Having the lake all to ourselves is just a dream, so peaceful. Nice addition this year was the fire pit, many nights of s'mores. Can't wait to go back! Thank you to Roy and his family, you have a gem!

Perfect family getaway

  • 5 of 5

Perfect family getaway- everything we were looking for. All of our days were spent fishing, swimming, and kayaking. Even on an overcast and drizzly day the cottage was perfect- board games in the screened in porch, and kayaking in the rain! The 2 sets of bunkbeds were perfect for the kids, and the screened in porch was great to keep the bugs at bay. If I had to do this trip over again, the only changes I would make is to make sure we brought swimshoes (getting into the lake was rocky/open clam shells/ a little murky)- we ended up making a Walmart trip and got some, and I would have looked into the area a little more to see what is around for a daytrip (beautiful farmland in the area, but were looking for a destination not too far away for the kids). The cottage is in a beautiful location- very quiet and private. And the stars at night over the lake- what a sight!

Terrific cozy cottage perfect for our family of 4

  • 5 of 5

We chose this cottage based on its location to several of the attractions and towns we wanted to visit. We are from Virginia so we wanted to have a home base in Maine while we could explore but we also needed a place that supplied linens, towels, and a furnished kitchen. We wanted to be off of the beaten path not in a camp ground. This cottage offered privacy and plenty to do. Our children are (9 & 10) and enjoyed the use of the kayaks around the pond as did we. There were a great selection and amount of supplied life vests. They were able to explore in the water and the land (small beach and woods). The screened in porch was one of our favorite places - eating, reading, and game playing. Even when it rained, we sat outside not getting wet. We had brought a few of our favorite games from home but we found there were tons of games to choose from already at the cottage. The kitchen was small but totally usable. We would eat a later lunch out exploring then come home and eat a light dinner on the porch. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. The local grocery store was about 15 minutes away (if that) and there were several farm stands close by.

I would and have already recommended this cottage to friends and family. I hope to be able to go back again!

We Loved the cabin, the atmosphere, the loons, bald eagles, fishing, swimming, location and owners

  • 5 of 5

First would like to thank the owners who were more than accommodating and who quickly saw to any need. Roy and his family were always quick to respond and not at all obtrusive. They are a very sweet and caring family who certainly want to make sure you are enjoying your stay. Now about the stay, the cabin is rustic and very comfortable, located right on the water, and a few steps down to the dock. The lake is very clean and quiet, the fishing is great and the sounds of the loons and eagles are present most of the time. Did I also say that the cabin itself is very clean, not large and very comfortable bed in the master bedroom, a well supplied kitchen, and beautiful lake views. I don't know of a single thing more I could have asked for in a vacation cottage, my wife and I will surely return the Good Lord Willing.

Thanks to the Deines Family and God Bless You!!

Perfect place to unplug and relax!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay. The cabin was everything we needed (towels, charcoal grill, lobster pot). There was a tv although we never turned it on. The screened in porch was perfect at night. The property was private and quiet. The dock and small beach was perfect for swimming and kayaking. The owners were friendly but not intrusive at all. When you're there it feels like you're the only people on the pond. We sat and watched the loons and a bald eagle! Quick ride to town for gas, groceries, coffee, and Moodys Diner. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for low key, quiet, comfortable relaxation. We can't wait to go back!
