We found the apartment very clean, quiet, lovely and a well equipped kitchen.

This lovely apartment is located within walking distance of the Pantheon, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants. We are looking forward to our return to the apartment in two weeks after having spent some time in the South of France.

Apartment in the 5th arrondissement

  • 5 of 5

While you aren’t in the 1st arrondissement, this apartment is perfect as a retreat to a quieter, less touristy part of Paris that is safe, so you don’t have to be clutching your wallet while walking around like in the crowded city center. It is a 7 minute walk to two major subway lines, which will take you directly to the major sights. The apartment itself was clean and spacious (maybe too clean, as it smelled like cleaning solution when we first arrived). A 3 minute walk away is a street lined with restaurants, there are also several grocery stores a 3-5 minute walk away. I would recommend as it is another way to experience Paris, through the eyes of someone who actually lives there.

Large, light and agreeable space, but needs cleaning and some repair

  • 3 of 5

Two days into my week-long stay all the bathroom lights burned out. They are the halogen type, and there were no extras lying around that I saw. There is a very annoying buzzing sound that comes from within the walls of the bathroom and kept me up at night. The bedroom is next to the bathroom. I had to wear earplugs to fall asleep. I assume it has something to do with the water system in the building. The furniture in the living room needs cleaning. It's all white, but it has a soiled look to it. The rug as well needs serious cleaning. Everything in the kitchen worked fine, and I was happy with the views and elevator in the building. The neighborhood is perfect. That's probably the best part. In between two of my favorite parks and the Paris mosque. There are two steps up in the bathroom that are very dangerous. Easy to trip and fall. Not a good bathroom for older people. Bed is actually two twin mattresses put together so there is a seam down the middle that is rather annoying. Since I was traveling alone, I am always worried about security, but this building had a code and a very heavy entry door. I felt very safe in this building and in the neighborhood.

Owner's Response: Dear Jules, Nice to know you found the apartment spacious, comfortable and well located. We wish that you had made us aware of the light issue in the bathroom, it has of course been fixed as soon as we found out about the problem (which was the switch, not the light bulbs). It looks like your issue about the cleaning only concerns the sofa and carpet, unfortunately, we cannot change a sofa or a carpet of this quality every time there is a stain that cannot be completely removed. As for the noise you have heard in the bathroom, it could be the building water pipes, but this is the 1st time it is mentioned to us and we have been renting this apartment for many years. We will check with the building management if something particular happened during your stay, and if the other tenants heard something as well. Thank you for letting us know, this is helpful information for us.

Comfortable and quiet apartment in a quiet neighborhood.

  • 4 of 5

This apartment was just as advertised, and my wife, eleven year old daughter and I were tucked in nicely here during our week stay in late March of '18. We would rent here again, nice location, very quiet and a well cared for and nicely furnished apartment. Kitchen is very well equipped and all appliances worked nicely. The owner's "how-to" book is clear and the arrival arrangements worked nicely as well. The second bedroom is just off the living room, though it can be closed off. Shared bathroom can be easily accessed from either bedroom. Bathtub works well after a chilly day in Paris, and the shower is good as well. Highly recommended.

Fourth Stay at this wonderful apartment

  • 5 of 5

We returned to Rue Laromiguiere for the fourth time this fall. We spent nine nights, which gave us plenty of opportunity to be Parisian flaneurs--walking about aimlessly. We discovered that James Joyce lived nearby while he was writing Finnegan's Wake. The apartment is as described in my earlier review below. We took great advantage of the wonderful Rue Mouffatard food shops for periodic dinners prepared in the terrific kitchen. WE revisited a favorite restaurant that is just blocks away call Bistroy Les Papilles, which is also a very interesting wine shop. The apartment is close to metro stops and within walking distance of many great Paris sites. I highly recommend this apartment, which while listed as a one bedroom comfortably sleeps four as there is a pull out bed in the office off the living room. We shall return!

We have stayed at rue Laromiguiere three times and plan to return as often as we can. The top floor apartment is filled with light from the many windows in the living room, kitchen and den, with charming views of Paris rooftops. The furnishings are stylish and very comfortable, with interesting art and decorative accessories. Bed and bath linens are lovely. The photos accurately reflect the ambiance of the apartment. It is perfect for two people with the added bonus of a comfortable sofabed in the den for quests. The kitchen is well-appointed and stocked with very nice china and glassware. Both the dishwasher and washer/dryer are added benefits. It has vases that I fill with flowers from the market. The location is very convenient--walking distance to the Luxembourg Gardens, Pantheon, Cluny, Rue Moffatard, and three metro stops, not to mention terrific restaurants, including Terroir Parisian and Les Papilles. We have stayed at two other apartments offered by Parisianflats-Rue Gay Lussac and Rue Casimir, both of which are also terrific and highly recommended. Sophie and Philippe are wonderful hosts and very pleasant to work with--and quick to resolve any issues that might arise. Those looking for a Paris experience in interesting neighborhoods can do no better than booking an apartment through Parisianflats.
