Privacy and beauty is offered with west side of the house on the Champlain canal, the north side is a public park with a tow path that goes for miles along the river, the south side is the Hudson river with 14 miles between locks 4 and 5. The south patio door leads to a large deck which sits about 50 feet above the river. The north patio door leads to a screened-in porch, a slate patio, and a garden with a northern view of the river. The inside is newly renovated and provides views of the Hudson from all rooms. It contains HD TV, DVD and surround sound, High speed Internet, new central air system, gas fire place, and for your safety a full security and fire system.
Saratoga Area: Saratoga has so much to offer and you should plan at least one day and evening there.
Excellent entertainment in that during the Spring, Summer, and Fall most bars have live entertainment. You can walk down main street and hear Rock, Country, Pop,and Jazz. Favorites are listed in the looseleaf found at the house.
Great Restaurants. In addition to the good restaurants that you can walk to from the house. Saratoga has so many to choose from. You will not be disappointed. Again we recommend our favorites.
Casio and of course the Race Track. - Great fun. If you have never been to the Saratoga track, you will enjoy the picnic atmosphere and the chance to see some of the finest horses in our country.
Skiing, Golf, and Fishing: Plenty of opportunity for skiing - 20 minutes to Willard Mountain or West Mountain family ski areas. 70 minutes from Gore.
Golf - 3 local golf courses. All offering 18 holes and with in 20 minutes of house. The closest is Windy Hills, a public,18 hole, golf course is 5 minutes from property.
Good fishing in area around the house both in the Champlain Canal and in the Hudson River. See boating.
Boating + Fishing: A recommended trip is a boat ride on the Champlain Canal Tour boats. Many different cruises. It is ran by Captain Bob and Marie Foster who live near by. Just walk up the Tow Path to Lock 5. In the picnic area to the left of the dock you will find Captain Bob's stern wheel riverboat. Many cruises available including the Sunday morning breakfast cruise. We are in a pretty section of the Hudson with a lot of natural beauty.
The house has a row boat, canoe, and 3 kayaks for your personal use at your own risk.
The town public launch is about 1000 yards down the tow path. If you trailer a boat, you can easily launch it at the public dock and then anchor in front of the house. Good Bass fishing in front of the house in the Canal or on the rear of the house in the River.

Family friendly home, ideally located for outdoor activity, relaxation and walkable dining/shopping
We were warmly welcomed, and made to feel like this was our home for the weekend. Kitchen is very well-equipped, and even has basic spices and baking supplies. Furnishings are comfortable, functional, and suitable to accommodate a large group. We spent many hours on the deck overlooking the river, and enjoyed using the house bikes, canoe, and fishing gear. Great house to hang out with family (dogs included), with lots to do nearby.
House and views are beautiful. Very relaxing. Third time we have stayed there. Tony is a great host! Can't wait to go back again.
Scott and family always have a good time. We will be happy to invite them back for their 4th stay.
Exactly what we wanted
We found this home to be everything as described. The owner Michael was quick to respond to our inquiries and his brother Tony met us at the house and spent time explaining the house and the surrounding area. (Tony even has a Racing Form for us.) The house was charming, clean and has AMAZING views. The beds were very comfortable and the house was well furnished with everything we needed. We recommend this property if you need a great place to stay near Saratoga Springs. Thanks to Micheal and Tony for your hospitality.
Gratefully, Cecil and Cathy Rohrberger
We are very happy that Cecil and Cathy had a great time.
They were great guests and we hope that they will return.
Spectacular! The wildlife is incredible, two bald eagles live just feet away, blue heron, fishing...heaven! Tony and Charlie perfect hosts. We hope to return next year for the same two weeks.
We are very happy that Bill and his family had such a good time. They were a thoughtful. helpful, and made good suggestions to us.
The view was beautiful. The owners were fantastic . Everything you need is right there.
It was good to hear. We had an internet problem. The speed was too slow. The guest helped us resolve it as we upgraded the speed to 3 Mbps. They were very helpful. We appreciate the review as well.
We found this home to be clean and comfortable for our group, with space to be together and separate, as needed. We loved sitting on the deck watching the river traffic! Having bicycles and kayaks available was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed walking on the tow path. We very much appreciated how private and quiet the location is, yet still a very short walk to restaurants. The house was well stocked with towels, condiments, and other thoughtful additions. And, of course, I can't forget our friendly and helpful hosts: Thank you for a great weekend!
We appreciate our guest Amy taking the time for a review. We enjoyed having her as a guest because she and her friends enjoyed the house while also being respectful. We want people to have a good time. That is the purpose of a vacation.
Brother Tony continues to be the official greeter and warm radiator.
Although the property offers excellent privacy a tow path leads into the town of Schuylerville where excellent restaurants can be found. It is 11 miles from the Saratoga race track; 20 minutes from the ski resorts of Willard Mountain or West Mountain, 40 minutes from the resort village of Lake George, and 70 minutes to Gore Ski resort. In addition, the Tow path running in front of the house, leads to miles of bike trails along the Hudson River.
