Quirky 3 bed apartment at Maenporth Beach.
Number 55 Upper Maen Cottage is a homely apartment with plenty of individual touches. It's in a great location - close to the estate's leisure facilities, a few minutes' walk from the beach and just a short drive into the busy seaside town of Falmouth. It's decorated throughout in neutral shades which lends an airy feel and acts as a perfect canvas for the artwork and beachy decorations.
Parking is next to the property. Once inside you'll immediately see some quirky nautical wall hangings. There's a shower room and toilet leading off from here, tiled in a rich brown, which will help avoid the queues in the morning. Straight on and you'll find the large, spacious living and dining area. There's one squashy, fawn sofa and two armchairs, plus a footstool and a scattering of soft cushions for total wind-down at the end of a long day on the water. The cool, blue, wavy rug will remind you of the sea.The dining area is close to the kitchen - it's traditional pine and there's plenty of room for everyone to relax during a lazy evening meal. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for the family for a week or two. It's a calm space - glossy white cupboards and biscuit-brown tiles make for relaxing food preparation.
Upstairs and you'll find the master bedroom, decorated in cream, with warm pine furniture. It's designed to be a tranquil space and certainly succeeds. There's a twin room, and the third bedroom has a set of sturdy bunks. The family bathroom, once again tiled in rich brown, has both a bath and overhead shower to suit everybody's needs. There are heated towel rails in both bathrooms to keep your swimming towels warm and dry. And as an added extra, we now supply each guest with one bath and one hand towel, free of charge.
Back downstairs and out of the French doors, you'll find yourself on the tiled terrace with access to the garden. It's a south-facing space so lovely and sunny for enjoying your afternoon Cornish Cream Tea - jam first though, please, as we're Cornish.
And for bookings of one week or more, we'll have a welcome pack ready for your arrival - a bottle of locally made Helford River Creek fruit juice, Cornish filter coffee, Smugglers tea, Cornish biscuits, a few sugar sachets and a pint of milk..
You'll have full use of the leisure facilities, free of charge.
There's a returnable £100 deposit against damages on this property.

Very nice, comfortable holiday home
The house was spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped and very generously proportioned. The estate is in a great position and all the facilities were well maintained. We had a great stay, would recommend.
Hi Clare We are glad you had a great holiday and many thanks for your comments which are much appreciated. We hope that you will come back some time in the future. Best wishes Julie
Too expensive for this time of year.
Good but too expensive for this time of year - drop the prices in the autumn, and be more flexible over rental days rather than per week.
I loved it
We had a very good stay, very relaxing. The cottage was quite good only a few issues on the day of arrival. I noticed a lot of dust in the children's room and the other bedrooms. The toilet brushes for both toilets were so dirty that we couldn't use, we didn't feel comfortable using them and the wall next to the brushes were dirty as well . I had to clean everywhere for I have a child with a lot of allergies, I wasn't happy with that. I also have photos of some of the areas in the bedrooms and toilet brushes. But our stay was great. Thank you very much.
Decor is tired and in need of updating
The estate and it location is perfect, we love it and will definitely be back next year the swimming Poll and all on site facilities are great, Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Hello Martin, Thanks for your review. The cleaning has been an issue this season and I'm pleased to say that we no longer employ that particular company to do our changeovers. I know you're coming back next season so we hope you'll see a massive improvement. I'm so sorry you felt you felt the decor was in need of updating. We'll pass those comments onto the owner. Perhaps a fresh, end-of-season makeover might be required. It's good to see things through somebody else's eyes so we really do appreciate your perspective and views. Best wishes, Sara
We enjoyed our stay. The estate and house were in good order. The children really enjoyed the pool.
Great location the only negative is the very steep hill . Wonderful views. We enjoyed eating at the cove and the crab sandwiches from the beach cafe.
Many thanks for your comments and glad you had a great holiday. On a positive note regarding the hill, as you say, the views are wonderful plus the walk burns up a few calories!! we hope to see you again some time in the future Regards Julie
Beautiful location. Wonderful swimming pool !
Cosy property with a lovely homely feel set in beautiful gardens overlooking the wonderful maenporth beach. Second year on the estate and one of our favourite spots. See you again next year.
So pleased you had a great week with us at Maenporth. We're biased but we also think the estate is kind of special.
See you again in 2018.
All good wishes,
The Maenporth Estate is just two miles from Falmouth and overlooks the beautiful Maenporth Beach. It's a private complex with a coded entrance gate, making it safe and secure for all guests. Set in 29 acres of natural woodland, with stunning views of the cove, it's a perfect base for family holidays. You'll find two all-weather tennis courts, a children's play area, and, of course, the Leisure Centre where we have our indoor, heated pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. There are pool and table tennis tables - all free of charge. The famous award-winning Cove Restaurant is on site, or if you'd prefer something simple, try the Life's a Beach Cafe - you guessed it, on Maenporth beach, for fresh crab sandwiches or a Cornish clotted cream ice-cream. Two miles along the coast and you'll come across Helford Passage and the wonderful Ferryboat Inn which specialises in serving local seafood dishes. From here you can catch the foot ferry across to Helford Village, or hire a rowing boat or paddle board for the afternoon. Maenporth's a sheltered cove with shallow waters, making it perfect for all kinds of family beach activities: the little ones will love paddling, splashing daddy, and clambering through rock pools. There's plenty of sand and piles of pebbles for sand castle building, and beautiful clear water for swimming. Arvor Sea Kayaking offer guided kayaking trips throughout the year, and Cornwall Divers will take you on a scuba diving course from the beach! And, at low tide, you may spot the famous Scottish trawler, Ben Asdale, that was wrecked off the Maenporth coast on 30th December 1978. The nearest town is Falmouth - the third largest natural harbour in the world - take a boat trip along the Carrick Waters to a smuggler's cottage, or hop on the ferry to St Mawes. Visit the Maritime Museum, great for children with its hands-on approach. Catch some the Grand Medieval Jousting at Pendennis Castle. Or simply sit with a cold glass of white wine and watch the boats glide by. Whatever you choose to do, you'll be sure to unwind from the stresses of life, and simply relax...
