Luxury apartment overlooking Maenporth Beach. Sleeps 6
Cove 1 is a large apartment located above the Cove Bar and Restaurant opposite Maenporth Beach. It's the perfect choice of holiday accommodation for a large family. Literally a few minutes from the beach, and 10 minutes from the bustling town of Falmouth where you'll find something of interest for everyone in your party. It's decorated throughout in neutral shades, which reflect the light and makes the property feel spacious.
The apartment is all on one level and accessed via the foyer that is shared with the Penthouse. Once inside you'll see the huge open-plan living and dining area. The walls, painted in a warm cream, are the perfect canvas for the property's original artwork and the furniture, crafted from rich Mexican style pine. There are two large, squashy sofas and a matching armchair, all made from cornflower-blue suede - it's the ultimate in comfort after a long fun-filled day on the beach. You'll find plenty of books and family games to keep you entertained in the evenings. The dining area is close to the kitchen, and easily seats 6 guests. The kitchen itself is fully equipped with just about everything you'd need for a family holiday. It's a great spot for creating delicious suppers, and there's plenty of work top space so everyone can chip in without feeling cramped.
You'll love the conservatory! Relax in the wicker chairs with your book, bask in the warmth and watch the activity on the beach. It's a fantastic retreat for those occasional times when we experience some infamous Cornish mizzle! Or there's the private patio with a table, chairs and uninterrupted views of the beach. It's so close, it feels like you're almost touching the sand. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and plenty of storage space for your holiday clothes. It's got two Velux windows so you can drift off the sleep, watching the stars twinkle. There's an en-suite shower room, tiled in gleaming white and with a colourful border. This bedroom is on the front, so you'll wake up to the gentle sounds of the waves lapping on the shore. The second bedroom is also a double, and the third has a set of bunk beds. Both of these are located at the back of the apartment. One adorable feature of these rooms are the teddy bears - yes, every bedroom has a teddy, individually dressed and just waiting for bedtime cuddles. And as an added bonus, we are now supplying one bath and one hand towel per guest, free of charge.
And for bookings of one week or more, we'll have a welcome pack ready for your arrival - a bottle of locally made Helford River Creek fruit juice, Cornish filter coffee, Smugglers tea, Cornish biscuits, a few sugar sachets and a pint of milk.
You'll have full use of the leisure facilities, free of charge. Cove 1 has been awarded a 4 Star rating by Quality in Tourism. There is a returnable £100 deposit against damages on this property, and one designated car parking space.

Pool / Spa
Our favourite Cornwall Holiday spot.
We come here at least once a year. The location is excellent and the apartment is very comfortable. You have the beach on your doorstep an excellent restaurant below the apartment and a beach cafe. What more could you ask for.
Hi Howard Thank you for your comments which are much appreciated and we are pleased you had a good holiday staying in Cove 1. We look forwards to seeing you again very soon. Best wishes Jo
This is my third visit to Cove 1 and it won't be my last. The view is just so lovely and the flat is very well equipped, clean and comfortable, including fully functioning wifi. A couple of easily fixed minor gripes: a hairdryer would be useful and please could the restaurant below not start moving furniture at 7.45am? Surely this could be done later as it did wake me up most days.
Hi Ruth Many thanks for your comments which are much appreciated and pleased you have had another lovely holiday in Cove 1. We are sorry that you didn't find the hairdryer which was left in the tall chest of drawers in the main bedroom. It was unfortunate that you were disturbed by the noise from the restaurant and will make them aware of this. Kind regards Julie
Sea View in comfort
Cove 1 is a large apartment which offers a most comfortable stay with views of the ever-changing sea and beach activity. It is very well appointed with everything one needs to make self-catering easy. This owner has an eye for detail and has kept the apartment updated so making it a home-from-home. The situation of the flat offers beautiful walks and activities locally and around the Falmouth area. It is also only 40 mins to many places on the North and South coast of Cornwall.
A most relaxing stay. We will return.
Hello Jayne, Wow, thank you so much. I'm so pleased you found everything to your satisfaction and enjoyed your holiday with us. There is lots to see and do in this area, and you're right - a lot Cornwall is accessible from here within an hour's travelling time. We'll look forward to seeing you again, All good wishes, Sara
I have stayed at the Cove 1 & 2 on many occasions over the years since it was built. But it has slowly become worn looking and the furniture is uncomfortable. I really feel it needs decorating and new furnishings. The kitchen equipment is lacking, and although I love the view the apartment needs updating.
Hi Joan Thank you for your comments which are much appreciated and we will be forwarding them to the owner. Best wishes Julie
Great location, great apartment but sadly we had some issues with hot water! Holiday Cornwall dealt with it quickly but it did still, take some time to repair the fault! With small children this was not ideal!
However the location is so perfect for a family we loved it ,,,
Hello Jane and Richard. I don't think I'll ever forget you or the naughty hot water tank! You were so patient - kudos to you both. You have a lovely family and we look forward to seeing you again next year. With all good wishes, Sara
The Perfect Place
This is the perfect apartment for us. The view from the apartment is wonderful with a balcony. The beach across the road a restaurant below the apartment you don't have to go anywhere else.
Hi Howard So pleased you had another great holiday at Maenporth, we hope to see you again soon. Regards Julie
The Maenporth Estate is just two miles from Falmouth and overlooks the beautiful Maenporth Beach. It's a private complex with a coded entrance gate, making it safe and secure for all guests. Set in 29 acres of natural woodland, with stunning views of the cove, it's a perfect base for family holidays. You'll find two all-weather tennis courts, a children's play area, and, of course, the Leisure Centre where we have our indoor, heated pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. There are pool and table tennis tables - all free of charge. The famous award-winning Cove Restaurant is on site, or if you'd prefer something simple, try the Life's a Beach Cafe - you guessed it, on Maenporth beach, for fresh crab sandwiches or a Cornish clotted cream ice-cream. Two miles along the coast and you'll come across Helford Passage and the wonderful Ferryboat Inn which specialises in serving local seafood dishes. From here you can catch the foot ferry across to Helford Village, or hire a rowing boat or paddle board for the afternoon. Maenporth's a sheltered cove with shallow waters, making it perfect for all kinds of family beach activities: the little ones will love paddling, splashing daddy, and clambering through rock pools. There's plenty of sand and piles of pebbles for sandcastle building, and beautiful clear water for swimming. Arvor Sea Kayaking offer guided kayaking trips throughout the year, and Cornwall Divers will take you on a scuba diving course from the beach! And, at low tide, you may spot the famous Scottish trawler, Ben Asdale, that was wrecked off the Maenporth coast on 30th December 1978. The nearest town is Falmouth - the third largest natural harbour in the world - take a boat trip along the Carrick Waters to a smuggler's cottage, or hop on the ferry to St Mawes. Visit the Maritime Museum, great for children with its hands-on approach. Catch some the Grand Medieval Jousting at Pendennis Castle. Or simply sit with a cold glass of white wine and watch the boats glide by. Whatever you choose to do, you'll be sure to unwind from the stresses of life, and simply relax...
