Why Rick Wrigley chose Provincetown

I purchased this 5 acre parcel of land in 1995 and have designed and built 4 custom houses here. My experience as a furniture designer/maker has enabled me give special attention to the finishes and detailing of the houses.

What makes this house unique

Walk or bike to galleries, shopping, bars, clubs, and restaurants, and beaches. When you return home to this secluded grouping of 3 houses, you'll be in a relaxing, quiet, and peaceful hideaway.

Provincetown is perched on the uppermost tip of Cape Cod. In the summer, the population of this quaint fishing village swells to 30,000. 'P-Town,' attracts a cosmopolitan mix of people and is a haven for artists, writers, actors, and musicians. A vibrant nightlife is offered for both gays and straights. A stroll through town will take visitors past and eclectic mix of historic sights, tourist shops, and clusters of, picturesque homes surrounded by flower gardens. On a clear day, it is possible to have a 360° view of the entire Cape from the top of Pilgrim Monument. There are miles of ocean and bay beaches in Provincetown and the many walking and biking trails in the protected National Seashore provide visitors with views of ponds, cranberry bogs, beech forests, and sand dunes. Whale watching, sailing, and fishing trips depart daily from the harbor.

Provincetown bungalow

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we've stayed in one of the houses here. Each time was wonderful. The beds were comfortable, the home was clean, the owner was great to work with. The home has everything you would want in a vacation rental and has the sort of detail work that makes it more than nondescript dwelling. The rooms were spacious, the internet was fast, and the washer / dryer was first rate. I hope we can come back.

Beautiful home - well furnished - very clean

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time with our two dogs in Rick's well appointed home. Centrally located, easy to walk everywhere - yet private. The home was very clean and furnished like a home not a rental. We loved it, had a great stay and would highly recommend.

Clean and Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the house for only 2 days but, next time will definately stay longer. The house was very clean, comfortable and cozy. The four of us had plenty of space...the bedrooms are very nice sized with great beds and AC in both rooms. The downstairs kitchen is fully stocked and the basement has a washer and dryer if needed. I would highly recommend this house for a foursome and the owner is a very nice guy. Great house-Mike

A hidden gem, tucked in a wooded cul de sac

  • 5 of 5

I am a repeat renter of this cozy two-story cottage which is located on a secluded dead-end driveway in the East End of town behind the Provincetown Theater. It's far enough away from the bustling downtown so one can enjoy some privacy and quiet evenings. At the same time it's a pleasant stroll or bike ride to the center of town or the beaches. The house is finely crafted and well maintained by owner Rick Wrigley, who lives nearby and always available if there are any problems. The front porch is a real plus to hang our for morning coffee or evening cocktails. It helps to have washer and dryer in the basement, which means you can bring one less suitcase. The barbecue in the back also made dining at home a more tasty experience- sword steak , cod and salmon on the grill last time. I have had family and friends visit and plan to have more up in the future.

perfect for us

  • 5 of 5

this place has everything we look for in a provincetown vacation rental - that's why we've been staying here for years. we like that it's in the east end and close to galleries, restaurants and theater (gold dust orphans are right next door!); has close/easy access to the town bay beach so it's perfect for walking the dog in the mornings and evenings; has an outdoor shower; kitchen is spacious and well stocked; overall the place is very well laid out and has classic/refined decor/finishing; and is owned and managed by really nice people who are a pleasure to deal. we love it here and will keep coming back.

Wonderful house and terrific landlord

  • 5 of 5

I just enjoyed a week at The Porch House and found it ideal. It's right in town, yet off the main drag and thus quiet, private and serene. The details are lovely, the decor is stylish and tasteful and the kitchen and bathrooms are stocked with all the tools you need for a stay away from home. It think it's all prettier in person than the photos can show. I also really appreciated the helpful, respectful and flexible attitude of our landlord. All in all this is a real find for the price. I would stay there again any time.
