Great location with privacy and quiet space: This house has nothing built in front of it or behind,so privacy is here.Built high on a hill the front porch looks out onto treetops but if you turn around and look out the sunroom at the back of the place, you see tree trunks. Very airy with lots of Truro summer breezes so no mosquitoes like most other homes have here. Living room has theater quality HD TV with surround sound and many windows to enjoy the garden views.Wonderful waterview on second floor.

New living room and master bedroom furniture in 2015 and freshly painted walls done as well.Maple floors refinished on first floors and new maple floors upstairs within the last few months.House is kept in immaculate condition, and the gardens are well maintained.Beach grass so no lawn to water. Very pretty all year round.

House surroundings-'I live a vacation': The property is one acre, house on a hill with gardens and tree filled ravine behind ,all part of the acre.Half mile to Great Hollow beach, one mile to Corn Hill beach. Short walk/drive to organic veggie, seafood market and food places such as Sweet Escapes cafe,Box Lunch, and Whitman House restaurant. Black Fish restaurant and Jams deli just down the road.

Take route 6 either way to Wellfleet or Provincetown for more fine dining and theatre/shows.The house is 20 seconds from the highway, but being bayside very little traffic noise.More likely to hear the bluejays and morning doves splashing around the birdbaths in the gardens.

beach access: As a renter of this house, you are allowed to get a weekly beach pass to all the private Truro beaches. Information will be left for you at check in.

Menus, area offerings will be left for your perusal.Owner readily available to accommodate your requests or questions.

Relaxed and ready to return.....

  • 5 of 5

This property is better than described. Very comfortable and spacious feeling. The home is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The home is also VERY clean. It is situated on top of a hill on a secluded cul-de-sac with no traffic. Very convenient to P'town, Wellfleet, the National Seashore and other sightseeing, restaurants, shopping and beaches. If you are looking for a quiet place to rent that is convenient to everything this is the place you want to rent. The owner is very easy to work with and communicates very well answering all emails.

Owner's Response: I am very thankful for the wonderful reviews from last year's tenants so far.As this person has stated,I do make every effort to get you more information,be it a newsletter I just sent out to this year's tenants with web sites for local businesses so you can plan activities ahead of time,or sending out many extra photos of the property for your perusal if you request them.I strongly encourage you to read the "notes" and"further details" under the "amenities section which contains alot of information. Please be aware that there are no window treatments as there is no need for them so lots of light and airy breezes in the house. The house is geared for quiet folks but do know it is a perfect place to have friends drop by to join you for an afternoon or evening get together. There are lots of stemware in the cupboards, the porch has had over 50 people one afternoon for a cocktail party which I held one September day,and parking for many cars in the driveway and on the private road.I am not encouraging wild ruckus parties, but sophisticated quiet enjoyment of a house that breathes "welcome" to friends and family guests. There is a natural flow from the porch through glass sliders into the dining/kitchen area so easy to entertain. I personally clean my house after every departure so it is really clean when you arrive.I have heard some not so good reviews on other properties so I am the hands on kid.I leave alot of cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, etc to help you with the mid week upkeep and if you want to pay for a housekeeper for your stay,I can email a list for you. I disagree with the reviewer's suggestion of families with small children,as the guest rooms are upstairs away from the parents bedroom. The steps going upstairs are solid wood so no carpet if a child falls. The house really acclimates itself better to adults needing to get away, maybe with older children. Also you do need a car as the bus stop is a mile away.

Treasured Truro Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful family vacation at this beautiful home in Truro. The owners are very kind and accommodating, always available for our questions. They also provided very helpful info for local fishing guides, restaurants and festive activities in the community-we did all of their suggested “must dos” which added much variety to our beach vacation ! The house was spacious and very comfortable, plenty of room for our group of six adults and two year old grandson. We enjoyed relaxing on the large wrap around deck and large open living area easily accommodation our crowd.

We especially loved the privacy; house is quietly tucked away on a hill providing views of the bay from upstairs bedroom, yet walking to the private bay beach and very close proximity to ocean beaches as well!

This home is well maintained and very tranquil with plenty of ceiling fans, air conditioners, comfortable beds, and fully stocked kitchen.

Some of our best memories have been made in this amazing Truro treasure by the sea, we will return!

Owner's Response: These guests booked a one day fishing charter boat and caught many stripe bass. Autumn is a great time to visit and we feature off season rates after Labor Day. Next summer is already booking fast so please consider this Maritime oasis for your friends and family.

Great House!

  • 5 of 5

I rarely write reviews because unless something really stands out. I have rented houses on the Cape for 20 years and this house was among the best. The owner, Melanie, was also great to deal with.

The house sits on top of a hill and is very private. It has a spectacular wrap around farmers porch with a nice table and chairs and a brand new grill. The porch is shaded and enables you to sit outside and enjoy the view of the tree tops and wildlife from the porch. There was a nice breeze the whole stay and not one mosquito.

Inside. the house was very clean and well kept. It was easily able to accommodate our family of five. Melanie also provided all of the towels, sheets and blankets for our stay. That saved us a lot of room on the trip down.

The kitchen has everything you need. There is a large dining room table off of the kitchen that was also very nice.

There is a flat screen TV with basic cable and high speed internet throughout the house.

There are air conditioners in two of the bedrooms which was a pleasant surprise. They came in handy at night during a very hot week in July.

While private, the house is just minutes from Route 6 and on the same road as Savory and Sweet Escapes. You can literally walk there in under 10 minutes for breakfast, ice cream or pizza. You can also walk or bike to the bay beach that is on the same road. You can see the bay from the front upstairs bedroom.

Overall it was a great stay and a great house. I would definitely stay there again.

Many thanks for Melanie!

Owner's Response: Thank you. I believe it would be inconsiderate of me to ask you bring linens and towels. All are new every season and I also provide beach chairs as well. New this season is a 40 cubic foot cooler sitting on the porch for your beach/ fishing trips. Hope to see new guests visit as well as repeat folks again.

Beautiful house on a rise

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in the house near Great Hollow. Quiet and secluded, with nature all around, the house was immaculate and well-appointed on the inside. A beautiful, big kitchen allowed us to cook big meals. the bedrooms were comfortable and the family room was big enough for our family of five to spread out. Many evenings, we walked the short distance to the beautiful beach at sunset, or to the great pizza/ice cream parlor nearby. Overall, we had a fantastic stay.

Fabulous Labor Day Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying in this beautiful house. We spent hours on the deck, enjoying the cool breeze and eating lobsters or pizza, and listening to the birds chirping. The house is secluded and surrounded by trees. It is high enough that mosquitos can’t get to it. My children caught up with their Summer homework before school starts. The Wifi and cellphones work beautifully and the rooms are cheerful and bright. We took repeated walks on the beaches nearby and watched the Sunset. It has been wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing the house with us!

Absolutely lovely property!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 (2 kids ages 11 and 6) rented this property for a week in August. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. The house is bright and airy, the porch is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the breezes, the kitchen is well supplied (particularly for a beach house) with cooking utensils. Beaches are a short ride away and there are many excellent running routes from the house. There was excellent bird-watching from many places in the house. We liked this place so much we have already asked for time to return next year!
