Property description

Our home is heated and cooled to offer the greatest comfort. The four bedrooms--three queens and one twin bed bedroom plus a queen sofa bed in the living room and a roll-away single bed for an extra guest--can accommodate up to 8 adults and 2-3 children. The house is amply spacious and comfortably furnished to instill an at-home feeling for your important stay. The maximum number of guests is not to exceed 11 people, infants are not included in this maximum number.

One of the most wonderful things about our house is the large comfy screened in porch. Sitting on the porch in the mornings having our cups of coffee and enjoying a relaxing drink in the evenings, watching the birds in the front garden, and treasuring the quiet, is bliss and our rental families' favorite past time.

Get re-acquainted with your graduating marine while enjoying Southern hospitality, peace and quiet, plus the nearby activities that await you at this charming, roomy home in the historic town of Port Royal. We're less than a simple 2 minute drive to Parris Island Marine Base entrance. History buffs, nature lovers and those who treasure the peace and quiet of a traditional walking community will enjoy staying with us in Port Royal's friendly, small neighborhood atmosphere. We're only 5 minutes from historic Beaufort with its many shops, galleries and restaurants, 30 minutes from Hunting Island's 5,000 acre State Park with its long white beaches...all open to the public, hiking and bird watching, and also minutes from the many islands that offer endless beautiful scenery, golf course, great galleries, antiquing, restaurants and gorgeous weather.

We would love to share our home with you; a renovated traditional, charming, roomy Port Royal home in the heart of Port Royal. All rooms are cheerfully decorated for comfort and relaxation to help make you feel at home. Come stay with us and enjoy the quiet and charm of Port Royal that we fell in love with. Friendly neighbors and town folk, church bells that ring at noon, birds that sing to bring in the new day, and peace and quiet greets you every day.

Take a short walk or safely bicycle to everything you need to relax and un-wind in a small friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Enjoy the local restaurants, walking trails where you can observe the nesting egrets, herons and other native birds in our town's sanctuary, the water front that offers boat launch ramps, docks, amazing fishing, the community Sands Beach, and a boardwalk with a look-out tower where you can watch the dolphins play in the water and the many varieties of birds fly over head. About the owner: Jack and Roberta Hare The proud owners of 1611 Columbia Avenue in Port Royal, S.C. We are residents of Southern New Jersey, but hope to make Port Royal our permanent home. Until then we have the satisfaction and pleasure of sharing our home with wonderful people who may find our home their home-away-from home. We love Port Royal and its beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

Port Royal and the surrounding areas are truly a taste of the South. The pace and friendly people are a respite from our crazy Northeast life style. One day there and the tension melts away. Our home is furnished as a 'lived in' home, not a rental property. We think you'll feel 'at home' while staying with us!

Port Royal village, where the house is located, is isolated from the busier roadways and commercial areas. Once you turn into the Village of Port Royal, off Route 802, there's a distinct atmosphere of calm, quiet and life at a much slower pace. There is no through traffic into the town; and, our home sits on a dead end street so there are very few cars that pass by the house any time of the day or night. Even so, if you want modern life's amenities, they're less than a minute drive away.
