This cottage is close to everything that Chatham has to offer, as well as the conveniences you want nearby. It is within walking distance (1/2 mile or less) to the shops and restaurants in downtown Chatham, Oyster Pond Beach, Veterans Field (home of the Chatham A's and a large public playground), and the Chatham Seaside Links Golf Course. This charming 2 bedroom house also has all the comforts of home - air conditioning, 40'' flat screen TV (HD with HBO and NESN), wireless Internet, and a gas grill. The outdoor shower w/hot water is a great treat when you return from the beach. You can walk to the bank, the pharmacy, and the post office. The interior is decorated in white & light blue with touches of the seashore throughout. This house is the perfect getaway for a week during the summer or in the off season. While sitting in an Adirondack chair in the back yard on a summer Friday night, you can hear the distant sounds of a Chatham A's baseball game and the Chatham band concert.

About the owner: I grew up in north central Connecticut, and started coming to Chatham in 1979 with my family (parents, sister, grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins). I live in Lynnfield (north of Boston) now with my husband and our two sons.
Why the Owner Chose Chatham, Chatham, MA, USA:
I have loved Chatham for as long as I can remember. I first came here with my family in 1979, and we vacationed here for 10 days each summer until 1991. I also spent the summers here while I was in college and graduate school. I always dreamed of having a house in Chatham. With the help of some real estate-savvy family and friends, I realized that by renting out the house during the summer, I could make my dream a reality, so I bought the house in 2007. The house needed a lot of work, and since then, we’ve replaced all of the windows, put on a new roof, put in a new furnace and hot water heater, installed a new tile floor and toilet in the bathroom, bought new living room furniture and a larger TV, put in an outdoor shower, installed the fence for more privacy, bought a new picnic table and Adirondack chairs for outside seating, bought a new fridge/freezer, put in new window treatments, and completed many other house projects too numerous to mention. While my now-husband was chipping away at all of these house projects, we also got married in 2010 and now have two little boys (3 ½ years old and 2 years old). We take a week during the summer to enjoy our own vacation here, so we are always looking for ways to make the house even better. It is so nice to see our little boys falling in love with the Cape just as I did when I was younger. My husband has also “converted.” Though he would also like to have a house in the mountains, he does love Chatham, especially in the off-season.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When we looked to buy a home in Chatham, we looked for a house with just a short walk to town. We planned on having children, so we wanted to be on a quiet street. We fell in love with the location of this house. It is 0.3 of a mile to town (Main Street). It is 0.4 of a mile to Oyster Pond Beach, a perfect beach for children. We can also walk to Veterans’ Field, home of the Chatham Anglers, three playgrounds, and the Chatham Railroad Museum. It is a 1.5 mile walk to Lighthouse Beach. If you want the luxury/convenience of staying close to Chatham’s Main Street for a reasonable rate, then this house is perfect for you. When we are staying at the house, we walk to all of the playgrounds, the ball field, and the Railroad Museum. We even walk to the Lighthouse, but we only do that in the morning or evening because the double stroller takes up most of the sidewalk (ha ha). The location of this house is even better than we hoped it would be, and we love spending time here. If you want to rent this house, enjoy it while you can because once we can afford to keep it for ourselves, we will!
